Chapter 201: 200. Foundation Of Loyalty (1)
I, as Reina had a new friend with whom I was exchanging letters often, I got to know a lot about the Nash household through Brielle letters as how her brother was at war and how her family was tensed for his well-being.
I also got to know something peculiar which she seemed to have written in a bout of sadness. It was regarding her mother who seemed to be suffering some disease.
Day by day, I was noticing the tension in her letters growing and along with that the date of the meeting with the Underworld Lords was also coming closer.
I decided to include one more person as my limbs in this upcoming meeting, he might already be thinking of it but if his loyalty came without the foundation of fear then it would be the best thing for me.
The night of the meeting dawned and I was being dressed up by Remi and Lyall along with Enora. Lyall was going to come with me for this meeting besides, it was almost time for the rest of my team to know about my real identity.
Lyall would have to be by my side as my shadow for future so, he must know who I was.
After a few minutes, we teleported to Froish City and entered the same casino where I had met them for the first time a few months ago.
I walked past the crowd that had gathered in the casino, the shine of this place hadn’t dwindled much though the crowd seemed lesser than the last time.
"I didn’t know the spot for a meeting would be a casino." Lyall muttered behind me.
I didn’t answer to him as I walked over to the red door with the design of a black hawk which had two guards. I showed them the invitation along with my insignia making them flinch and now respectfully as they pushed open the doors.
"Welcome, Lord Dragon." They spoke and I stepped in.
They didn’t dare stop my companion this time, my last time’s intimidation seemed to have rooted in their minds. Lyall walked behind me as we entered the dark corridor.
There was a black door with a silver hawk insignia on it a couple of feet ahead of us, I walked up to it sensing the three presences inside.
I pushed open the door and walked inside. The three men inside got to their feet and two of them bowed to me making me cock my brow.
Lord Devil and new Lord of Syndrill bowed to me, while Lord Hawke who seemed a bit hesitant also bowed following suit.
"Why are you bowing to me?" I asked and Lord Devil chuckled before he straightened up.
"We both owe you our lives, Master- Lord Dragon so, it’s only natural that we bow to you."
I shook my head as I walked over to the chair which had the insignia of a golden Dragon and the three followed suit. Its placing was a bit strange as I found myself at the head of the table while the other three sat in front of me.
"Lord Hawke, I don’t remember favouring you in any way. So, is there a special reason why I’m having this special treatment?" I asked and he looked at the other two Lords.
"You are the leader of two Underworld cities as well as co-leader of Shadowcliff and Syndrill so, it is only natural for the one with most power to be at the head of the table, Lord Dragon." He explained and I hummed lightly.
"So, should we start with the meeting then?" I announced.
We first welcomed the new Lord Snake who gracefully accepted our warm regards, his left arm was still in cast but since he could work with his right one he had left the hospital a few days ago.
"I am grateful to Lord Dragon who saved my life and gave my position back," he said making me smile.
After that, we discussed about the changes in the business and how the war was affecting us financially. We presented reports about our endeavours and at the end of the meeting Lord Hawke asked me to wait for a while.
I sat in my place but the other Lords also didn’t leave. Lord Hawke looked at them quizzically.
"Why aren’t you two leaving?"
"Oh, we want to spend some more time with Lord Dragon as well." Both of them replied and Lord Hawke sighed.
"Fine, I’ll ask you all since I could use some help."
"Does anyone of know about happen to know about a disease in which the person loses the control of their body, their eyesight fades and soon they couldn’t even manage to do their own daily chores?"
I tilted my head as various diseases and conditions popped in my head with the symptoms he mentioned.
"Can you be more specific?" Lord Devil asked as he glanced once at me.
He must be thinking of the disease he portrayed in his play, "The Missing Pianist" but I had an assumption that it wasn’t that.
Brielle had been giving me the detailed explanation of what was going on with her mother and I knew even if there was no cure for it or if I had no idea of what the cure might be, I could still heal her.
Lord Hawke explained in detail and Lord Devil seemed a bit confused.
"It seems like a deadly disease if the person isn’t even able to get up from bed." Lord Snake mumbled.
"It is," Lord Hawke spoke up with the hint of sadness in his voice.
"Do you know something about this disease, Lord Dragon?" Lord Devil asked me.
"I don’t know," I said honestly.
"Then, can you at least ask around your information guild to look into a cure for it?" Lord Hawke asked, "I’m ready to pay any amount for it."
I pondered over it for a while before I agreed to it.
At night, we returned to Ryujin mansion where Enora and Remi helped me undress.
"Is everyone asleep?" I asked them watching the clock. It was way past midnight.
"Most of them must be asleep, Master." Remi answered.
I looked once at my reflection and then at the reflections of those who were with me in the room.
"I have something to show you all," I said.
I turned and faced the three as they exchanged questioning glances before fixing their gaze on me.
"What is it, Master?" Enora asked.
"You have been extremely loyal to me and I have no doubt that you will continue serving me for years to come that’s why, I have decided to show you something." I said.
The three looked excited and eager as they faced me and I brought my hand up to my sapphire earstud.
I gently removed it and reverted back to my original form making the three to gasp loudly.
"Wha-What is..."
"Ma-Master?"
Lyall stood shell-shocked while the other two gaped at me with their jaws comfortably sitting on the ground.
"This is my real form," I said.
"My name is Reina Aurelius, I’m the daughter of Duke Arthur Aurelius." I introduced myself to the still dumbfounded trio.
"Ho-How is this..." Enora gasped.
"Master is a girl..." Remi breathed.
Lyall pursed his lips before he stepped ahead and sat on his knees with his head down.
"I... I don’t have any words to express how I feel, Master. But... you showing us your really form must mean that you trust us a lot. I am... honored..." He spoke.
Enora and Remi followed suit as they too kneeled beside Lyall.
"We feel grateful to be chosen by you, Master. And we feel even more happy that you put so much trust in us." Enora said.
"I-I don’t know what to say, but since you showed us your real form must mean that even I am worthy of your trust too. I feel... so accomplished right now..." Remi sniffled.
"I had to show you all this form some day, because from now on Lyall, you will be tagging with me all the time, even when I’m like this."
"I shall always stay by your side, Master." He replied.
I smiled a little and Enora looked up, "I would love to be by your side too, Master."
"Me too!" Remi added.
I chuckled, "We’ll see of that in future."
I had finally shown them, the ones who were willing to be by my side now knew of my rela form. This would mark as a significant part as I had shown them not only my real form but also my vulnerable side.
This would bind them to me not only by loyalty but also with the sense of obligation to live up to the expectations of the Master who trusted them enough.
The next day, I sent a letter to Lord Hawke saying I found the cure for the disease. But I would have to go personally to the patient to deliver it.
His reply was immediate as he invited me to his mansion not caring about revealing his identity.
I took Lyall with me again and this time we went by a carriage. He sat in front of me fidgeting and I could sense his need for asking questions.
"Ask away, Lyall."
