Chapter 133: Chapter 133

"Why the hell aren’t you killing him? I need to see for myself now that he’s dead before I move to take over everything he’s done. Kill him," Benjamin pointed toward his father.

Hearing Vance in pain just wasn’t enough for Benjamin.

Benjamin wanted to see that Vance was no longer living so there wouldn’t be any surprises in the future. This could have all been one big plot for his father to fool him. He could not have a day where Vance popped up and took everything back.

"Unfortunately for you, you’re not a client who paid me and if you want him dead a certain way then you should have targeted him yourself. I am going to do this my way," Dean said, watching as his men lifted Vance.

Dean watched as Vance tried to put up a fight at first but once he was placed on his back Vance couldn’t move well. "He’s not going to be able to swim at this rate."

Benjamin didn’t understand what was meant by swimming. "Don’t leave just yet," he grabbed Dean’s arm.

Dean looked down at where Benjamin grabbed him. "You’re a little bold for someone without a gun and someone who is outnumbered, you’re a little too talkative right now. Honestly, I’ve been thinking about shooting you right in your mouth so you could shut up but we’re partners in crime."

Benjamin bit his tongue. He had plenty to say but he knew not to take the threat lightly.

"Now you don’t want to speak. So all this time all I had to do was point a gun to your mouth? I could have done that from the start. Your father won’t be coming home," Dean said and then started to walk away.

Staying here where all this noise had been made would only lead to trouble. The job he came for was almost done so it was nearing time for him to get out of the city.

"Wait," Benjamin realised his predicament. "How am I supposed to get from here? The driver is gone and I can’t show up anywhere with the car my father was supposed to be in. I’ll look suspicious even to my mother."

Dean didn’t see it as his problem. This was the part where Benjamin had to start thinking for himself again. "You’ll figure it out. You were smart enough to remove the bullets from the gun. I trust that you’ll be smart to do something with the car and come up with a good excuse to take suspicions off of you."

"You weren’t expecting me to cover your ass, were you?" Dean asked, stopping to look at Benjamin.

Benjamin needed help since he didn’t know where to go from there. He needed a car to get near to his home but he couldn’t take his father’s car too close to his home.

Dean noticed how much Benjamin was panicking. Benjamin panicked so much that it showed on his face and aged him a bit. "I guess this is where you would normally count on your sister to bail you out. You better get to thinking and driving. Don’t bother asking my guys to help you. They have a lot of cleaning up to do."

Benjamin looked at the car which was going to be one of the biggest clues to figuring out what happened to his father. Should he just leave it here and run? Should he take it to his father’s home and park it without alerting his mother it was back?

The one thing that got in the way of Benjamin’s plans was how many cameras were around his father’s home and what if a camera on the street nearby were to pick up him running around?

Dean got into his car where Vance sat despite bleeding. Unlike Benjamin, Dean planned to leave the city soon and go back into hiding. This was the usual life for him where he needed to stay out of sight but Benjamin was an idiot who would overthink how to cover his tracks and get caught.

Vance leaned on the door which was the only thing helping him to stay up. "You’re not going to get away with this. Benjamin is going to come after you. You know nothing about my son if you think you can trust him. Look what he did to his father."

"Are you trying to give me advice or trying to get me to turn on him so I can take my attention off of you? You’re going to die tonight and as for your son, I don’t trust him. I never did," Dean revealed.

Vance didn’t understand what Benjamin got himself and this family caught up in. It was obvious that Benjamin knew nothing about the man he plotted with. Vance wished he had beaten Benjamin more when he had the chance.

"I’m going to hit your son where it’s going to hurt you and all your family. He’s got a nice drug problem, doesn’t he? You’re the one who thought he should have some kind of power position in the city when he has a problem with drugs and drinking. I see where he gets his stupidity from," said Dean.

Dean continued, "I’ve seen all kinds of people become puppets but you know your son would crash and burn at some point. That isn’t what the city needs but you were thinking about yourself. I’m going to enjoy ruining your legacy. You should have thought twice when you decided to target my daughter."

Vance could only laugh through the pain. "I might have accepted her a little more had I known she had someone like you around. All she had was a mother who showed up on Henry’s arm one day."

"Don’t lie to me. You wouldn’t have liked someone with a father like me becoming part of your family even if it gave you the chance to lose me. I don’t show it much but I love my daughter. You and her mother underestimated just how much I love my daughter," Dean said.

It didn’t matter that Vance didn’t know Veronica’s father was still around.

"You had someone take her and dump her over the side of the boat. If not for good timing with another boat being nearby then I would have lost her. Then you threatened the witnesses to not speak of seeing another boat. You used your connections to try burying this case but Liam wouldn’t allow it to," Dean revealed how much he knew.

"Aren’t you upset that my grandson isn’t the one coming after me? She’s his wife," Vance said, attempting to drag Liam down with him.

"No," Dean shook his head. "He should stay by her side. She needs one decent man in her life."
