The Handsome CEO Is My Husband -
Chapter 122
Chapter 122: Chapter 122
"Inside information? I hate to break it to you and kill this friendship so early but my sister is the one with all that information. She’s gone into hiding so I can’t find her. Right before you knocked on my window, that was who I was trying to talk to. So, if you could bring her back here then we could get started," said Benjamin.
Benjamin would like this little arrangement if it got Adeline to come back to him.
Dean was unimpressed by the man in front of him. "You are as useless as they say you are. I do believe that your sister is the one who would be more helpful but I don’t have time to look around for her so you’ll have to do it for now. I just need you to tell me his whereabouts. Get him out of his home for me."
Dean had men keeping an eye on Vance since he spoke to Liam but the tricky part was getting Vance somewhere out of the public eye to deal with him. There was always someone at Vance’s home be it his guests or workers. No one not involved in this needed to get hurt so Dean was trying to lure Vance out.
What better way to do that than with an idiot son?
Benjamin frowned, disliking how at this moment Adeline was praised when she wasn’t around. It wasn’t his fault that Adeline was the one more involved in their father’s schedule and he just couldn’t miss the chance to get his man to bring her back to him.
It was a chance for Benjamin to see just how capable this stranger was. If he could bring Adeline back out of her hiding hole then Benjamin would put more of an effort into working with this man.
"My father is hardly ever alone. He’s always meeting with someone to expand his connections. I only know that he has a party to attend with the governor so you’ll have to meet with him there. I will also be there to help you if you need me," Benjamin said, wanting to prove this man and everyone else wrong.
Benjamin wasn’t useless and he was smarter than most thought. He was going to use this man to get rid of his father and then later get rid of Adeline so he wouldn’t be compared to her anymore. Once that was done, Benjamin would get rid of this man so he wouldn’t be blackmailed in the future.
His involvement in this needed to stay hidden so it wouldn’t affect how he looked to the public. Benjamin was going to get everything his father spoke about just without his father.
"Get in the car with him when it’s time to leave and follow my instructions carefully. Give me your phone," Dean instructed Benjamin.
Benjamin reached into his car for his phone. This was one time he wished he had his second phone on him so any contact with this man couldn’t be traced back to this phone.
"How do I get in contact with your nephew Liam Sterling to do business? I have been trying to get in touch with him but I have been turned away. Would approaching his wife work?" Dean asked, testing to see what Benjamin thought about Veronica.
Benjamin laughed since this man was the clueless one. "No, that’s not going to work. Liam makes it hard to get to him and his wife is useless. I’ve tried to reach out to her in the past but it isn’t worth it. This is why you don’t just let anyone marry into your family. She’s a pretty face but Liam is the one behind her success. It pays to screw the right man."
Dean bit his tongue. It was taking everything inside of him not to punch Benjamin dead in the face. He knew Benjamin wasn’t the only one thinking or saying this because Veronica didn’t have the best relationship with the Harpers to be protected. If only they knew that she had someone backing her.
Dean had to force a smile. He couldn’t have Benjamin walking around with bruises for him to go crying to his father. One wrong move and this idiot was going to ruin his plan to lure out Vance. "If your nephew heard you speaking of his wife like that, you wouldn’t get the support from him that you need."
"You know a lot about my family which raises some red flags in my eyes," Benjamin said, wary about the man before him.
Benjamin hadn’t seen him at any events and his father always made sure to invite the rich and influential to their events. This man had to be from out of the city but even then, Benjamin thought he would recognise anyone important.
All Benjamin needed was a name to look into who this man was and who it was that was hurt by his father.
"Stop trying to guess who I am because you never will. All you need to do is listen to what I tell you and you’ll come out of this in one piece," Dean said as he handed the phone back to Benjamin.
Dean thought of getting rid of Benjamin as well for his insult to Veronica but Vance was the one who needed to be dealt with for now and right now, he was too busy dealing with his ex-wife and her husband.
Dean started to walk away from Benjamin since he said all that he needed to.
However, Benjamin wasn’t ready for the talk to be over with. He started to follow Dean but stopped when other men got out of the other car and showed their guns.
Benjamin backed away and decided to just get into his car to leave. This was too much excitement for one day and since he hadn’t told anyone where he was going, if something happened to him here it might not be the first place anyone looked.
"Get in," Dean ordered his men. He knew that Benjamin didn’t have the balls to attack but his men still had a right to be concerned about him being so close to an idiot.
People who lacked sense were dangerous since they rarely thought their actions through.
Dean got into his car. His next destination was to see Henry and then go back to Evelyn. He didn’t have a choice but to wait for when he could corner Vance to get rid of him. There was already a boat and rope waiting to do Vance just like he tried to do to Veronica.
"Can we trust him?"
Dean looked out his window at Benjamin scrambling to get away. "No. As soon as he does what I need, release everything we found about him to the press. Who in their right mind would elect him to do anything with this city?"
