Chapter 684: 10.07.5 The Tree grows.

With an explosive push, my body felt like it was splitting apart, as the reality around me twisted, and then without even knowing what happened, I appeared in the distance while the land where I originally was turned white like paper, before disintegrating into the air, not even a speck of dust survived the annihilation.

This was the true might of an Angel of the Red Sun. Pure destructive strength that cannot be rivaled anywhere else. Not even Radiant Knights will be capable of such feats.

"Run... Don’t think and just run." I spoke, feeling that the devil shouldn’t have pushed us anywhere too far, from the discharge and movements in the air, it could be seen we were close, and considering the path back was not safe, not to mention the Devil probably wouldn’t let us go away, not at this point.

Can only mean one thing.

"How?" Spoke a figure, though not with eyes of my own, I can see through the dust that Wajih spread around, the lanky figure wearing a man’s skin stretched all over his tall body.

It was a horrific look, but there was no need to look down on such a figure, because the electricity still danced around the man’s body, who didn’t speak much after finding us. He just directly struck us with all his might. "Doesn’t matter. You will die today." The man said, striking us at the speed of light, breaking our defenses, and dragging us through the very land itself.

If not for the timely root armor on Wajih’s body, he would have been divided in two by now. "Fool." Shouted Wajih, swords forming up in his hand out of nowhere, which he struck into the body that was dragging him towards who knows where.

And it seemed to work, as the first sword entered and exploded, causing heinous injuries, and forcing the enemy to split apart during our momentum, but I know the injury was not that serious because I didn’t see the limbs explode apart.

Impossible, but then again, I knew little of our...

I paused, looking below the dust where my feet touched, I saw a hole.

Our momentum had caused the dust to fly around, exposing the bizarre floor below, which appeared as a glass ceiling above a giant hole.

Here, I felt it, the warmth inside it all. The divinity of nature that was my leash on life. "Shatter it," I shouted and Wajih did, ignoring the beast of the man who ignored us and went in a different direction. Guess, our priorities were different than I had assumed.

*Bang came the sound, the swords, the spears, and even explosions struck this seal in successions, but nothing could injure it. "No... not the mortal means." It had only been two seconds since we arrived, and the time in our hands was little.

The Devil first wanted to kill me, and now he wishes to possess me, while for the Angel, his job was obvious. ’Few minutes left.’ My divinity had also reached its extreme limits. For me without a domain, this is all I can achieve at the moment, coming here was my peak.

’But I won’t die.’ With a thought, I sent some information to Wajih. "Go hunt your target." And then with an explosion and a loud cry from Wajih, I left his body, dragging all the roots that bound his muscles, spines, and even nerves together with me, causing immense bleeding and weakness on Wajih’s end.

But he endured it, although having little to no energy to even move, he still did. Wajih was the kind that wanted more and he won’t let this opportunity go by. "Remember your promise." He spoke to my broken body, just a brain that was left in the open with thin threads like roots covered in blood trembling and rushing around.

However, even in such a state, I responded by lifting one of my windpipes. As for him, looking ahead, and using the root armor as leverage for his weakened spine. Wajih got his body straight and walked ahead while feeling every bit of pain imaginable man. His food was ahead of him, looking for god knows what.

And one might even wonder what will happen if he gets his hands on it. So Wajih moved.

Although the future was not set and the chances of him not surviving this whole battle were minuscule, he still had to try it, he had to at least take out one of the sons himself. This is the least he wishes to achieve at this point.

With that, I was left alone, feeble and unmoving, my body slowly decaying without the support of Wajih’s vitality, while my true body in the realm of nightmares crumbling, started with the arms and then the legs.

"I can’t." The whole below was a fracture in reality, but it was not the abyss.

"I am here." My nerves that were wriggling in blood took root in the corrupted land here, slowly diving into the glass shield or the hex that sealed it from the world outside. "The location is found." My mind worked, or what remained of it? Countless formations, seals, and curses ran through my mind.

The patterns of what I can see slowly matched with those in my memories, and then there was the divinity of not just the Nature that was suppressed here, but even greater gods who made sure that the eternal battle down below never ended.

I felt the warmth of the sun, the purification of the Radiance, and even the Guard of the Night. ’A vestige of the Night.’ Her death was no mystery to me, but her essence being used to shield this made it harder for me.

’Nightmares were one of her domains.’ My body bounced off, not getting any deeper, for the shield had noticed the anomaly that is me, completely throwing me off. ’No.’ My mind worked again, forming different symbols as I started to crack this shield again. The time I had was little.

The Battle ahead was closing in on me, but the real issue was my current body, without Wajih, the little time I had shortened up. I will die, this will be my end. A true end.

’Even if it’s not the end, I will not miss out on the joy this world has for me.’ Being a totem, true death was not possible for me anymore, I would come back in one form or another, just like Lakram that parasitizes me.

’Oh... you win, kid.’ With those words, the feeble roots around Jester suddenly thickened, while his brain turned bigger before one noticed it. It turned into a small sapling that started to grow at a massive speed the moment it touched the corrupted soil of the Abyss.

"Uwaa....’ A childish cry broke out, drowning the little sentience Jester had left while turning the dust around the growing tree into different faces and masks that started to slowly stick to the tree one by one.

Each mask holds a heavy essence of Abyss, showing that it won’t be long before this tree completely falls to the Abyss, turning into a Demon of immense potential. Not long after this tree started to grow as the divinity of Lakram started to reform in the abyss while twisting the very reality around itself, a void opened carrying a heavy mist out of which a crumbling totem fell.

Its body was completely covered with roots, while the only intact head, that of the faceless, did not have roots running through its whole existence.

And then, before this true body of Jester could do a thing, branches flew around from the tree, touching the Totem’s body and slowly assimilating into it.

God’s descent, it happened again.

And this time, it shook the Angel carrying the Lucifer moniker, his eyes turning into stars as from his lips, he spoke. "Lakram." Long before this abyss was ever formed, he had hunted a young god of Nature by his own hands. A god that appeared to be that of Nature. But his real nature was something heinous.

Something annoying.

Something innocent once.

Something even the Angel couldn’t touch during its prime.

"He is back." The Devil he fought, and his army were relentless, all his attacks were faced by suicidal demons that reached the rank of Grandmaster and even Legend. But each death will be rendered useless as new ones will be reformed from the shadows of the Devil. Whose interest had also been turned toward the Tree growing at a fast pace. "A dead god rises again... and it’s him." The Devil spoke, carrying some melancholy, for he had felt it, the true essence of this tree.

The tree carried immense joy, sadness, confusion, and then innocence in it. "This is the perfect time to kill it, isn’t it?’ Spoke the Devil, as it backed off with a smile and said to the Angel. "Go and kill him... again." He smiled.

Although if this tree were to grow, it would become one of the Prime Demons, which would obviously fall under his jurisdiction, the Devil still allowed the Angel to go.

It allowed the Angel to go and kill the birth of this Demon before he fell and was claimed by the Abyss.
