Chapter 683: 10.07.4 Annihilation.
Woken up and confused, his body didn’t stop, ripping away control from me as well as the being inside me, his blood started to coagulate weakening his body but also forming what I can assume are defenses against the roots inside Wajih’s body, as they targeted the roots and destroyed them, preventing their encroachment further.
But this was just a delay to the eventual inevitable. Death will come to us both, but in different forms as long as we don’t reach there and I can finally have something stronger to be attached to.
As for this guy, his hatred and regret were obvious, I could feel the fire burning in him. He was ready to decapitate my brain at a moment’s notice to completely get rid of this possession of sorts where his body didn’t feel his. And he would have done it, if not for the fact that the demons around her were swarming from all over. Their numbers are finite, but not the kind we can handle on our own.
SO Wajih took out the metals, each looking similar, but slowly molding into different forms, with the majority of them taking the form of needles or blades. "Sword storm." He spoke in his mind, causing the blades to descend onto the demons and even the people behind him who he was unaware.
How good he must have felt knowing that he had just messed up with his enemies. But instead of that, his enemies shouted. "Wajih, the Mercenary King... There is no need for conflict for now. Let’s work together, that’s the only way to survive.... I will even help you get rid of that parasite." he shouted from behind, the man that carried what appeared to be a tall corpse of some sort.
A corpse that exuded a hint of devilish energy mixed with death. It felt familiar, the nature of that being. However, my lack of understanding of the bloodlines of Azad limited me in gaining an advantage. "Listen to him not... my mind itself is parasitized by something... as long as I gain what’s inside, I can get rid of it and help you recover your body. An even greater body than your current one."
Throughout history, there have been many Nature Gods, and due to certain fates that I never understood, all those who rose to that level eventually fell one way or another. It was dramatic and odd in my eyes. Can eternal gods really fall? Or was the divinity that defined nature itself corrupted?
Case in point, Lakram, who died the same way, due to odd circumstances that did have a reason, but never made sense. This is why, there had been many broken divinities of Nature God’s throughout this material plane, and there had been great artifacts built with those things, though if one were to ask the true value of those broken divinities, it would be their potential to completely rebuild a body anew, making them prime material for the heavenly elixir that only exists in legends.
But, that is wasteful, much worse than turning them into artifacts.
"Shut up... just stay silent." Was the response I got from Wajih, whose mind wandered for a bit before keeping up his pace. There was no need to interact with those people, he would die before helping them survive.
No, he will make their survival much worse.
That is what he did, there was never a need on my end to placate the man who lost everything to that family, his hatred had driven him for so long, and if he was a fool he would have taken the fight to the front since the start, but Wajih knew how to control himself.
But in this situation, where his death seemed inevitable, that kind of rationality was thrown out of the window. For a while, he wanted to be petty, he wanted to let his emotions lead him instead of his mind.
So instead of working together, he started to focus his attacks on them. He started to send his attacks over their bodies. And it was not long before, this kind of action backfired, as the demons, strong ones appeared and surrounded them. "Fear not, I promise to rebuild your body," I said again, letting Wajih go all crazy, taking out the corrupted Iron he had kept for emergency use and exploding it in between the demons that were ready to burn Wajih alive by manipulating the rules of this place.
And it partially worked. For in the flames of flesh and blood, the demons rose anew, their body unscathed and immortal, as they turned to look at the attacker that had gained some distance. But these demons didn’t stop their pursuit. Slow and steady, they followed him, one among which was an Archvile, summoning the damned souls that fell in Abyss to drag Wajih and down with them.
"You will survive." I saw behind, feeling the existence of our pursuer from the Alahrun family slowing down bit by bit. They were able to save themselves due to Wajih’s attack earlier from the hands of the stronger demons, but the Archvile, that demon is something else, no one can escape from it as long as he can see you, and in this Abyss, his eyes were virtually all-encompassing. Once he notices you, survival is hard.
Which is what happened. "No... I can’t fall here." Shouted a younger voice, holding not even a hint of emotion in it. Followed by a Scream as the body of this young man turned into threads and entered the man who was holding him. "I am Sorry." These were the last words that Ooeti ever heard, as his body was filled with threads formed of the cold energy, killing him and turning him into a puppet of sorts.
A puppet where the puppeteer hides directly inside the body.
Something that none knew that Ruhan was capable of, something he had hidden from all, due to how disgusting this ability was. It’s the very reason he even exposed the matters of the riches to his uncle and brought him here as insurance.
Because this ability can only be used on someone you share blood with, not just bloodline. As for the advantage this gives him?
"Thunderbolt form." With an explosion, his body turned into lightning, ripping away the hands that bound him and then kept flying through the air at the speed of light, ripping and destroying everything in the way, and even striking one hand of Wajih, who dodged in a timely manner, or the thing that he would have lost would have been his torso. "I will deal with you later." echoed the voice as the light disappeared, obviously going deep to the end of this abyss, the place of the seals, where the divinities of the fallen god stayed.
"FUCK!!" That speed, that destructive power was not something a Grandmaster was capable of... unless he burned through his body. Or the one that possessed him burned through his body. ’Good game.’ The roots grow, digging into the wound and sealing them up before Wajih loses more of his energy.
"Keep moving. Our journey is the same. We will meet him." I spoke the only voice that Wajih could consider sane. The other one was mostly the cry of a child throwing a tantrum. Both voices in his head really made him go mad, but he never lost his will. He won’t die here, and he will make sure that I fulfill my promise once this is done.
Which is why, even with the injury, he kept running.
Flying was never an option due to the danger of being claimed by the sky. One could only move on foot and face the disasters that were thrown our way.
Which did appear, in the form of floating heads, or what remained of them. Because, from the looks of it, our precious friend had opened a path for us straight, as long as we don’t give the demons the time to fill their ranks and close the path that had been opened for us, the journey will be easier.
"Leave the demon behind to me.’ The trouble was the Archvile, his grubby hands slowed us down due to the need to dodge. I can’t allow that.
’This is the last one.’ I thought to myself, feeling that I had mere minutes left before I slept for eternity. Cutting those minutes in half would be considered foolish, but I had no choice.
This is why, opening my mouth which appeared formed from the lung, a voice came. "You are alive again, back to the world of living, back to those you love," I spoke simple words, causing the phantom of my broken true body to appear in the world.
It was a lie, a delusion, the denial of reality that broke the constraints of the Abyss and brought my true body here.
And with those words, the reality contorted, my body fractured and lost many pieces of it. But the demon, the Archvile that had been living as a Demon for a millennium suddenly stopped, its eyes gaining clarity.
Followed by immense anger and hatred from the very will of the Abyss. It seemed the will was angry. I stole something, I did something I shouldn’t have.
There was hatred, there was the essence of annihilation in the air, but more than that, there was greed.
A greed not just in the will of the Abyss, but the Devil that had made this place his domain.
The War Devil, who was fighting with the angel turned to look in the direction of Jester, though that look alone gave the Angel an edge. It didn’t exploit to attack the Devil, but it flew toward Jester, eyes burning with immense anger, the grounds cracked, and the very space collapsed, killing countless demons that were rushing toward it.
But their death didn’t even happen before countless burning angels descended from the skies, rushing toward the very domain of the Devil and the Tomb of a Prime Demon.
"There will be annihilation." Spoke the Lightbringer, his flames spreading throughout the domain, devouring all that came across it.
It was the real hell on earth.
"What have you done?" Asked Wajih, his eyes filled with fear as his body felt the changes in the atmosphere as all the lights were devoured by the movements of the Lightbringer, there was going to be annihilation and he would be in it.
But, fear was never on my face. "I just gave out bait." I spoke, feeling the Abyss aura around me churn, and then with a forceful ejection, we were thrown out of the range of this "Annihilation."
Followed by the voice. "You are fascinating." The War Devil, he can’t let a being like me die.
