The God of Jesters
Chapter 685 - 10.07.6 A Beauty.

Chapter 685: 10.07.6 A Beauty.

The Devil looked ahead to the tree slowly being consumed by the Abyss and laughed. ’It’s back again.’ Normally, a powerful Totem or a God can’t be corrupted by the Abyss unless the being itself willed it to be so. But the God being born in Jester’s body was incomplete and broken. His body barely held any strong divinity in it.

Like the countless branches of a Tree, so is Nature’s divinity, divided into countless thinner branches, and like the very tree, it’s immortal.

So no matter the time, one or multiple holding the divinity of Nature always keep on appearing. More so one as famous as Lakram, the one that was hunted by Sun God Himself, or at least his avatar who wielded God’s power.

The Devil didn’t like this, to it, one more nature god is nothing special, even if its divinity falls to the abyss, it will be just one of the thousands of branches, nothing special, nothing strong, nothing important.

But, the other thing besides Lakram that fought for its sanity, now that is a different matter altogether. ’I need that power.’ To a devil, the greatest weakness it ever had was unable to act out of the Abyss no matter how strong it possessed, all it could do was let the Demons carry out its will or make contracts with mortals who then borrowed a part of its power.

There are no cases where they were able to walk the normal earth even in a body they possessed, for there is nothing strong enough to hold their immense will.

Even now, the current body is merely an illusion built from compressing his will to the utmost and forming a humanoid look, or the one that the Human deemed the Devil to look like. Even then, it was merely a fraction of his true strength.

But that will deny the very reality itself. ’In my hands.’ The War Devil wondered, his nonexistent mind wondering up a future and then a look of utter satisfaction over this side hobby of his coming out fruitful. ’I found the answer.’

The Mages, the most they can do is carry his will to a certain distance in the Material plane, even then the price they had to pay would be immense.

Meanwhile, this individual being so close to death was capable of such an immense feat, who knows what will happen if he grows up and reaches their level?

This is why, the previous desire to kill and claim this being as his own was gone, that would be too wasteful, the real wonder was letting it grow.

This became the reasoning behind why the War Devil let the Angel go, there was no meaning to this battle if the thing they were fighting for was lost. And as it turns out, in this specific instance, both of them wanted the same thing.

And that was.

Annihilation of Nature’s Lakram.

BEWM, a sound that was devoured by the light itself exploded above the giant tree, fracturing its branches and cleaving it in two before a flame burst apart and started to burn through the crying faces.

A single strike of judgment directly over Lakram’s head and then going directly toward the seal that was impossible to pass through.

Like a glass shattering, the whole ground crumbled, causing what remained of Lakram to fall through the hole along with countless screams into the void that had opened its mouth for eternity.

Only when seeing this did the Light Bringer wake up from his stupor and then turn to the Devil. "You."

The seal there was not a normal seal. Formed using the power of a nature God and a Demon, further reinforced by the forces of the Sun god and even the Devil, who deemed the Demon in there too troublesome to even control.

But they can’t let it die as well, as otherwise, it will be reborn in Abyss.

"This can’t be happening." The seal, created using the power of a Nature god, Sun God, and even the Devil, struck the very shield that sealed that monster. And now it’s broken.

"I can’t let it rise again." The Light Bringer understood its mistake in a matter of seconds. Its mind acted fast, and his body turned into a stream of light as it broke through the void in the ground while taking out his sword.

However, it’s not only the Light bringer that went in. But there was me as well.

My body was broken and barely holding on as one of the faces that all remained of me.

Although that bastard Lakram had taken over most of my body, soul, and even abilities, there is one thing it can never steal from me. And it’s my delusion. A Delusion that helped me keep consciousness even while under such duress.

So my face fell, like a wooden mask, it fell into what appeared as a fractured space. And inside.

"Death." It was the domain of two godly beings combined, the life from nature kept fighting the death of the Abyss. An eternal battle where there were no winners or losses.

No, from the way the roots and vines had surrounded the corrupted parts of this land as if suffocating the Abyss’s corruption.

But from the broken state of this natural paradise, it came to be seen that the price God had to pay to contain this corruption was not small.

"Legs..." I thought as small little roots appeared below my mask while above me, a giant descended, made of flames and holding a Golden Sword.

Its size was greater than outside, its appearance far more primal with a body composed of eyes that formed the Symbol of Light over its golden body.

"Death to the unholy." It spoke, as the sword rose again and this time, the attack was not one-sided, but a giant explosion.

But, the tentacles made of Abyss broke out from the corrupted lands, striking the Angel and forcing it to stop its attack. "It’s alive." I smiled, before using this chance to escape.

Life might be a bit better than before, but I still had mere minutes and nothing more. Even the vitality that Lakram injected in me came with the price of me losing most of my nature as a Spirit and a nightmare, for it was all devoured by Lakram in a bid to become what it is now.

Leaving me nothing more than a wood parasite with some will intact, and a small connection to the world of nightmare. Though I can’t enter it, nor can I retrieve my lost knowledge from it.

But, that is enough. I planned perfectly, I abandoned all the nonsensical and useless information I had in mind in return for keeping all the important parts for the subsequent plans. However, you must understand that at this point, I am just adapting to the situation.

The fighting started, the corruption in the domain that had remained dormant for years after constant fights had awoken with the appearance of the Light bringer, causing it to explode out and turn into tentacles as it struck toward the Angel that dared enter this realm.

As for Lakram?

Even when broken and burned to ashes, each of its roots, bark or even leaves contained a life of its own. Though unlike other Nature Divinities that break down and give life to small divinities, Lakram was selfish like a child, the moment it splintered, each piece grew a face, each face crying as they dug through the soil.

And then before one even knew it, Lakram started to grow again.

An undying god that once awoken is hard to get rid of. And this is what we are seeing now. Though the way it was growing was different than before.

It grew into a vine, countlines vines, that started to spread in this battlefield of divinities. Spreading like a plague and looking for something.

Something special.

Something that will make the rise of Lakram far easier.

Something even I felt in my woody bones.

’I will get it.’ Unlike Lakram, a mindless child who worked on instinct, I was aware of the direction, the divinity would be closer to the Demon that caused all of this disaster. So I will go toward the source of all this corruption itself.

The Demon that even the Devil’s fear.

A Demon that.

"Huh?"

"She looks beautiful."

>BTW sorry for the delay, War broke out between my country and our neighbor.
