Chapter 618: 9.15.1 You fool.

’So annoying.’ A single spindle into his shoulder exploded into bones and viscera, causing Rosso’s arm to dangle with a small piece of flesh. "The cat is alive... truly an oddity." With this attack, Rosso noticed something due to the Eye of insight.

The current body of Farhad was mutated and over four meters tall, not to mention, right at the very center of Farhad’s chest, there it was, a small cat that seemed to have been absorbed into Farhad’s flesh with only his head exposed into the open, which did appear cute, if not for the fact that this cat can see through his curse of Isolation.

But so what if he can be tracked? Taking out the dagger that Rosso had kept with himself all this time using his intact hand, he sliced it toward Farhad who dared to come close to him. And being ignorant of its power, he let it hit his flesh.

And then, there was a bang, a small explosion between the two as both Rosso and Farhad were thrown off into the distance. "Odd?" Rosso wondered, looking at the chipped dagger in his hand as well as Farhad whose body appeared fine on the surface.

"This shouldn’t be happening." Were Rosso’s thoughts until he saw that at the place where the dagger hit, there was a small injury, an injury through which flames burst forth, startling Farhad as his face suddenly turned pale.

’Ah, it still works.’ This small confrontation alone was proof enough that there was a limit to this ceremonial blade. Although its origins eluded him, Rosso didn’t care about it at the moment. ’Not like this is the only one. Putting the knife back in the hanging head that has shrunken down, Rosso gently picked up his broken arm and reattached it, while asking. "How does it feel to be broken?"

The flames that leaked out of Farhad didn’t listen to him, they treated Farhad as a new entity, a corrupted entity, and tried to burn him completely, if not for these very flames protecting Farhad’s soul, he would have long died by now.

But it still made him feel pain, as well as weakness, as then flames inside of him and outside fought each other off, their intensity died down, weakening to a certain extent. Which further made Farhad wary of his opponent.

’What kind of weapon is it?" he wondered, slowly regenerating from his injuries. "Isn’t the biggest curse you here? Jester would be so ashamed to see that his creation ended up using tools instead of his own strength." Farhad taunted Rosso, his words loud and clear, directly targeting what Rosso cared most about.

However, that is where Farhad might have made a mistake. "I am not combat-focused like you, no shame in supplementing my weakness with tools.’ He spoke taking out a small rock talisman with a single word chiseled on it. "And let me tell you, I won’t be stopped here."

"Well, you would be." Rosso brought three corrupted tools with him, the Knife being the most useful one. A tool that can separate the essence of individuals.

However, that tool was not alone. Because if there was a killer move, then it would be this small stone talisman.

’I don’t know how much damage he had already done to this scenario, but I can’t let it continue.’ Was proper dialog possible with this madman? Well yes, but first Farhad had to stop him before he damaged the scenario any further. ’He won’t listen to me.

’As for taking Jester hostage? I can’t find the rat anywhere... Sir Catto might be able to look for him, but I need him to battle this bizarre creation of Jester.’ All these things really left Farhad with no other choice.

They were going to battle.

Well, that was the plan until the eyes of Rosso suddenly panicked as he rushed in right next to Farhad. "No creator." He shouted, which made Farhad turn to look at a small thing scurrying towards him. "Huh?" Odd, but he didn’t mind this oddity at all.

Being closer to the rat, and with his inhuman physique, Farhad’s step caused a fracture on the ground as he appeared right next to the rat. "No..." shouted Rosso. But it was already too late. As Farhad’s hand came down and then.

Then nothing. "Finally caught."

’Oh, this world truly is wonderful.’ Once the rat was in his hand, Rosso stopped in his tracks. "Don’t you dare harm him?" He spoke. But all it took for Farhad to tighten his grip on the mouse for Rosso to suddenly ask in panic.

"Wh.. what is it you want?"

"Stop your disease from spreading." This rat came to him at the right moment, because if things heated up, Rosso wouldn’t be in the mood to talk, nor Farhad would be able to earn such an advantage in the heat of the moment.

"You..." And with no choice left, Rosso had to give up. There is not much that can be done on his end, as Jester was too important to him. He showed by completely eradicating the spores that floated in the air through his will alone, which caused them to turn dark from blood-red and then slowly fly away in the air.

"Good then, now we can have some dialog... " It wasn’t hard for Rosso to ascertain if these things were truly inert, as with a single glance, he could tell that these things lacked the vitality of before.

They then focused his head on the rat in his hand. "Jester, I thank you for this." Spoke Farhad.

******

’It’s not that long since I last saw him.’ The rat carried the memories of the young Jester. A Jester that saw with its own eyes as his best friend left to seek reincarnation, leaving him alone.

A scene that did hurt him. It’s always fun to watch plays with friends by your side, as the community aspect of plays is always something he enjoyed even during his rat fighting days.

Alone, things just aren’t that fun. ’Seems like my audience really didn’t wish us to be apart from each other.’ The only family that Jester had left from the other life, the only one that knows who he used to be. The only one who knows his secrets.

That was what Grifter was for him: a son, a brother, a friend who helped him out of a century-long predicament. Truly, he was a worthy friend to have.

So once this current Jester learns about Farhad, as well as the fact who he used to be, he makes a run for him the moment Farhad attacks Rosso.

It was instinctual by nature, he didn’t care if he died or not, for he was not real anyway. All he cared about was to ask his friend about the life he was living these days.

But sadly, unlike Rosso who the rat could communicate with, Farhad appeared ignorant of the rat’s thoughts, it only gave a few thankful nods to him before focusing his eyes on Rosso, his creation or so the boy calls himself.

’How?’ Wondered Farhad, before he turned to look at Rosso in the distance. "Ask him, does he still love violence?"

"Huh?’’ Rosso was left speechless at the sudden question before turning to look at Farhad. ’This creator of mine is still too young.’ Rosso didn’t look down on Jester even though this request did sound absurd.

"Distracted are we?... hah, focus on what’s at hand... early on, you were too much of a nuisance that it became harder for me to tell you some things." Farhad snapped his fingers, taking Rosso’s attention to himself.

Who did want to convey what the rat wanted to speak, but he didn’t have any time. "Do you know, each time you mess up a scenario, your entrance ticket crumbles a little..." Farhad spoke, taking out a statue of a rat that seemed to have aged up than before. "And you forced me to cheat as well, now I have to hurry it up."

"Entrance ticket? What do you mean?"

"You should have obtained it. A certain weird object stuck in your throat?" At those words, Rosso’s eyes lit up as he looked toward his pocket. "Huh?" Which appeared flatter than normal.

"The ticket retains its permanence as long as you don’t cheat and go through the scenarios organically... if you don’t, you start the countdown. And each time you do cheat, that countdown accelerates." As Farhad spoke these words, Rosso put his hands into his pocket and only found.

"Dust... you have lost your rights to leave this place then," Farhad spoke, which left Rosso speechless.

"No, that shouldn’t be."

"I expected that you failed long ago... though I didn’t wish to carry the same fate as you, so I stopped you in your tracks... if you had ruined this one, my future would be in danger as well." These words came crashing onto Rosso like a train.

"What?"
