Chapter 567: 9.04.3 Mission update
The darkness was warm. Although taking the words of a stranger would be foolish, in his current state, Rosso felt that he was not limited in any way or form and was capable of unleashing his strength in any way he saw fit. Rosso chose to believe this little girl.
"These clothes are a bit tight."
"We didn’t have time to measure, we just stole something good and clean from the captain’s room." She spoke in her childish tone again. The words she spoke also told Rosso some story that he didn’t need but still chose to imprint in his head. ’Well, not like I don’t have a way.’
Ignoring the captain’s comment, Rosso focused on his body, causing it to tremble and contort until it was lean enough for the clothes he had bought.
Something he learned pretty recently, sadly he didn’t have time to develop this aspect of his talent due to the limited time. "The rest, when are they coming back?" The most that was imprinted in Rosso’s mind about Team One was their origin as well as their numbers. A total of five members all of whom followed the path of an exorcist. Meaning they were pretty weak in direct combat and chose to use tricks to take out their enemies.
In a certain way, both they as well as Rosso shared a high level of knowledge about curses and exorcist techniques, with them even exceeding him in their respective fields by a lot.
Ignoring the little pool of mucus he had climbed out of, Rosso walked out of the Room following the little girl and then came across what appeared to be a simple hill.
It was a day at the moment, but for some reason, a palpitation hit Rosso’s heart as he got out. ’I guess, I was lucky." Rosso found this place familiar for a reason, this was the very same island he had sent his mosquitoes to, sadly, this place couldn’t play the role he intended due to the preparation of his enemies. But no worries, with a simple beckoning the mosquitoes flew from the island.
"Don’t... there are certain pirates that still remain," Mini spoke, stopping Rosso in his tracks.
If the mosquitoes were to move in his direction, he might be exposed not just to the pirates, but to his enemies, so Rosso stopped his actions, fearing repercussions after all that was done to save him.
However, things took a drastic turn as he gave an order to the mosquitoes to return to where they came from.
The sky around the island suddenly turned dark. "Huh?" And that darkness was followed by Palpitations. This forced Rosso as well as Mini who too was surprised by the sudden change, to their knees.
’What is going on?" Rosso wondered, but before he could do a thing and look up, he saw the childish mini screaming on the side. "Huu."
He didn’t know this girl, and considering the little details he had on Team One, Rosso was well aware that this girl was obviously older than him. But that scream and the fear of this odd atmosphere caused Rosso to abandon some reasoning. ’She is a child of my creator, I should protect her.’ Although he didn’t know whether this was a game or illusion built by the people at the Cynark side, or some other party that stole him.
What he did know was his wants. He might be a monster in the eyes of some people, which he was. But Rosso also believed that he hadn’t abandoned his humanity completely as of yet. He believed himself capable of compassion.
Which is what drove him to drag his body towards Mini to protect her from the suppressive voice that burst Rosso’s ear drums. ’Heal.’ with all his focus, Rosso completely focused on his eye of Melancholy, which accelerated its healing in return for leaving his body bereft of vitality.
But such weakness was followed by an eye that illuminated the darkness around him, covering the little girl with its light, and canceling some of the effects of the suppression that the girl suffered from.
Leaving Rosso completely weakened and open to further suppression that turned his head a bit muddled.
And it was during this state of muddled mind, that all noises and scenery disappeared from his eyes, even taking away his opportunity to witness something wonderful like the electric snakes crawling out of the seas and toward the sky.
Rosso was in his own world, a world with one other being that sat at the edge of a cliff.
"Child, come here, there are certain words to be said to you." The figure turned around, showing that the face matched that of Heroth whom Rosso had met not too long ago. Sadly, Heroth was long gone and currently replaced by Dragon.
Making this dream all the weirder. But having some understanding of dreams, there was no panic on his face, walking in calm steps he came to the edge of the cliff where an eternal sunset shined over the horizon. "You are not Heroth, are you?" This was the question Rosso had wanted to ask all this time.
This tone of voice sounded only vaguely similar to the easy-going one that Heroth used. But for some reason, Rosso felt that this was not it, this being in front of him was not Heroth, just like Dragon was not Heroth.
"That is only partly true... Heroth, me, and the serpent that calls itself Dragon, all of us are part of one being... fractured due to age.An age that brought us madness." The voice spoke in some nostalgia, before turning and looking at Rosso."But I am not here for me... Dragon made a promise which he can’t fulfill."
"Hmm?" At those words, Rosso wondered if something bad had happened to Dragon. ’Did that man win?’ Dearma was a man that Rosso didn’t have any bad experience with.
In his out-of-body experience, Dearma had let his soul go easily without an issue and Rosso even suspected that this man named Dearma had been aware of his location since the start, but he didn’t do much.
Which was a sign of goodwill toward Rosso.
And now he learned that the very same man ended up killing Dragon?
This information did leave him somewhat conflicted, considering Dragon still in a way belonged to the faction of his creator.
"Your mind runs a lot, just like your master." Spoke to the man, before saying. "And no, Dragon, he is alive... a bit too alive. In his current state, he is incapable of fulfilling his promise, so here I am."
"If he can’t fulfill it, meaning he won’t take me to Malidi..."
"Yes, but considering Dragon is part of me, from a certain perspective, I made that promise as well." The figure spoke.
"You are not in control of your own body, how will you be able to help me in any way?" Rosso wondered. This man, this thing claimed itself to be part of Dragon, which Rosso can’t be so sure of so easily. But he never thought it was wrong to not at least listen to what this man intended to say.
"Obviously, I will give you the method, the one I use to track that man. But, before I give it to you, I hope you impart this message to Malidi." The frustration in the figure’s voice was noticeable. The request that he asked for also didn’t seem that simple.
And Rosso was correct. "Say to him, Heroth has given up on reigning in the beast. Sealing it won’t do any good anymore. Destroy him if possible." Spoke The figure in a detached voice.
That left Rosso a bit uncomfortable.
Didn’t he also have a spirit inside his body? A being with its own will?
’Don’t think too much.
"I promise to impart your request to him." As soon as Rosso spoke such words, a series of information dropped into his head, along with the location of certain Altars.’ Huh?’
Altars of some unknown god, that turned out to be Malidi.

As the steams from the thunder and lightning dispersed. A scene appeared in front of those that remained.
A serpent that reached around a hundred metes, exceeding the size of their ships floated in midair, completely still and incapable of doing a thing.
"LORD!!" Came the shout of a desperate Hemant who rushed to the scene, only to find nothing in the area.
In anger, he punched the snake that was sealed in the sky, but nothing happened. There was no response from either the beast or his master. "WHY DID HE DO IT?... I SHOULD HAVE GONE IN WITH THE RELIC!!" Shouted Hemant.
There is nothing more shameful for a Knight to have his Lord die in battle.
It’s a Knight’s Job to protect its lord, not the other way around.
"Sir, nothing works on this beast..." Spoke one of the commanders that led the Armada. Which further angered Hemant. "Ignore it, this thing is sealed here for a month at the minimum, focus on searching for remnants for our LORD.
