Chapter 566: 9.04.2 I hope you succeed.

No one could have expected what happened soon after Dearma mentioned Imoogi in his death throes.

The little bit of reasoning and greed that had suppressed the violence in the dragon’s heart was all gone.

Like a maddened beast, he attacked Dearma without caring about injuries to the precious limbs, and then he crushed the body and everything that once was a powerful Legendary being under his jaws without remorse.

But that was just the start, the serpent’s anger hadn’t subsided yet, instead, the fire of wrath burned brighter than ever before. "How dare he." He spoke in his head before turning toward Cynark. "Your precious home, it will suffer."

In the legends, images were born when a serpent failed to ascend to a dragon and create its very own dragon core, It was that lack of a dragon’s core that drove an Imoogi mad, sending it to spread terror through the lands in order to fill in the parts that it lacked, to recreate its Dragon’s core that would never be created once again.

Generally, such beasts were taken down soon after they tried to cause chaos because, no matter what happened, at the end of the day, these beasts were failed beings that could never rival the strength of pure-blooded dragons. Some of these Imoogi were even weaker than before they ascended, making their hunts far easier in the days of the gods.

The man who called himself a dragon was different, he was not a pure serpent that rose to become a dragon. He was just a man, a Knight who was influenced by his blood, but never let the blood’s instincts control it.

However, that was only to a limit. A limit that broke once the Imoogi was called what it hated the most. One can even say, that being called a serpent was an Imoogi’s reverse scale. It’s humiliating, as it reminds the Imoogi of what it can never be.

So in such anger, for the first time ever, a domain was activated. Turning the very bright sky that was cleared during the battle between the two legends to go dark.

A darkness that not only covered the Vercano islands but expanded farther and farther, with no limit, even encompassing the small island settlements that were close to volcano islands in the area.

A domain far bigger and expansive than anything the world had ever seen was unfolded at this moment.

"What is going on?" The seas around Amir turned turbulent, as phantoms of snakes started to rise from the sea like thunder and fly into the air. An anomalous scene caused a frenzy of worship among the close settlements as everyone dropped down and started to worship the angered deity.

While Amir, his face twisted in fear and some realization. He understood who did this, but more than that, he understood that he might not be able to escape this place if nothing was done. ’Anger... such feat, only beings like gods are capable of this.’ But seeing how the whole seas have turned dark till the horizon, and the Armada that had come close to him.

Amir wondered if there was a chance of survival, if at all.

’Then use this for its true purpose.’ The small locket that held some of the strength of Life Baan. Originally, there was little chance that Amir would come out of it unscathed. The chances of success were also far lower even though the arms of Dearma had been built to completely target their enemy.

This did seem to work early on, but who knows what might happen in the future, so it’s better to have a backup, which is where the Life Baan comes into use.

’I bought it here as insurance, seems like I get to use it today.’ The little tricks that Gazelle pulled on him did bring him humiliation and hatred. His conflicted feelings were entirely read by his opponents. Each and every one even played a part to make him think he succeeded until the very moment.

But those were thoughts when all of this was over, for now, Amir needs to make sure this disaster that he and his men had created didn’t reach the nearby settlements and the ships.

"Sir, I tried, we can’t utilize these weird thunder snakes, it’s directly destroying the functions of the armor." From the side spoke Hemant, showing some frustration.

These armors were in some ways enemy of all thunder users, they were made of metal. Capable of converting all thunder or electrical spells into fuel, which was originally developed as a method to recharge the armors mid-battle, as these armors were generally made for Transmutation mages.

But even when it was rebuilt for Knights, such specific features still remained, and originally, Amir and Hemant should be immune to such thunder snakes. But they were not, instead, it burned the circuits and disabled parts of Hemant’s armor. "Get on the ship, for now, it seems only the seas are creating these weird serpents," Amir spoke with the locket in his hand, ready to strike at any moment.

However, this moment came a tad bit too fast.

*OOOOONNNG

Came the sound, sending the sea into a frenzy as water currents soon turned into tsunamis under the impact of that voice.

While Amir and Hemant fell into the sea mid-flight, their ears and eyes bleeding under the impact. "This monster." But before both of them plunged into the seas, Amir stabilized himself and grabbed Hemant. "What is this?" He spoke, looking toward the direction of the dark seas, which is when he noticed it.

’What is that?’ A giant serpent with large feathers, or so it looked under the little illumination the thunder serpents provided. In a zig-zag motion, the serpent flew through the air causing the air around its body to crackle with lightening from time to time.

"No..." Although unaware of the cause and happening or even what or who this beast was. Now was not the time for thoughts, it was time for action.

Throwing Hemant toward the direction of the ships, Amir took out the Life Baan Locket, and then he exposed all activated his blood to the max. He lit up in red light as countless little crows started to blossom and cover his armor. Turning its metal surface fleshly and larger than it was possible.

This was the strongest Amir had ever been. He felt that no one among the Grandmaster Rank could rival him in such a state. But he didn’t let the arrogance get the better of him. Because in front of even the weakest Legends, he was still just a slightly stronger ant.

So this form of his was never to battle this beast, it was just to attract its anger or greed. It was to turn Amir into bait.

This is the only way to ensure all those on the ships don’t die. It’s the only way to survive this ordeal.

And it would seem that this plan worked.

"What are you doing? That beast is not something you can face... escape." Came a voice in Amir’s head, but even while knowing who this belonged to, he didn’t budge, he didn’t move at all.

"Don’t be stubborn, the beast you awakened you can’t fathom how old it is. Beside the totems, no one can stop it, even the Duke." the voice said again, but Amir didn’t listen, he lit up like a firefly, ready to face the beast which was the incarnation of destruction.

"Just go away, I don’t wish to converse with a bunch of terrorists," Amir spoke, before rushing toward the beast. Much to Gazelle’s dismay.

And as she had expected like a moth attracted to the flames, Amir jumped directly into the blanket that covered the Serpent’s body, that was meant to protect it. "Seems like my end will come a bit earlier." The fleshly armor made of his blood was first to go, turning into ashes at the first impact.

Then was his armor, which overloaded in an instant and started to explode and melt in parts, searing the flesh of Amir in the process.

But Amir’s speed didn’t stop, he just recalled his childhood fervor of proving the nobles wrong, the happiness of his parents, who might be false in name only, because their position in Amir’s heart had never shifted.

Then came the face of his grandfather, a hateable and understanding man who likes to hide stuff, but throughout his life, this old grandfather had done his best to support him. Followed by countless faces of friends and acquaintances he had made throughout his life.

And when the thunder reached deeper, boiling his blood and flesh in the process, the face that came to Amir’s head was the one he just seen recently. ’She is beautiful.’ He spoke before activating the Life Ban.

Which broke, turning into illusory energy that caused time to stop.

"You again?" Spoke a voice from time immemorial before with a sigh, countless chains broke through the void and bound the beast in its place. "I still wait for the day, you abandon your anomalous existence."

Spoke the voice, before disappearing into the void once again, leaving a giant Serpent sealed in the space. Which no Amir insight.

He seemed to have turned into ash under the onslaught of thunder.
