Chapter 560: 9.02.4 Fight between monsters.

For most of the recent month, while others had the time to develop and learn from each other, Rosso was unconscious, slowly regenerating from the heinous backlash as well as injuries he sustained during the battle before.

And with no food, the healing took too much out of him, draining and making him far weaker than he originally used to be.

While others grew, Rosso focused on food and then learned how to survive another flight with Dragon. Leaving him far weaker when compared to his opponents who were ready to face any trouble that might come their way.

In came a couple of exorcists, a man and woman who unfurled their arms, sending out paper around the ship, and sticking to the armors of soldiers. Some of whom protected the exorcist themselves, while others aimed their weapons at that falling monster.

Boom and the battle began with that.

Rosso was somewhat of an expert in curses and occult. It’s why the moment he saw the paper flying in the air, going against the strong wind and ignoring the rain, he understood who his opponents were, turning his face a bit sour.

’This is going to be problematic.’ There were few ways to harm Rosso once he activated his curses. A perfect anomaly artificially created by Jester for the singular purpose of never dying. And it really seemed to be true with his absurd regeneration and the cursed field that he can generate where people just kill themselves.

But it didn’t mean he was invincible, the Radiant Knights could ignore some of the effects of his curse powers, while those who understood curses completely can achieve the same result through their knowledge or their counter curses.

With exorcism being the path where humans manipulated Curses through knowledge, the opponents in front of him can turn out to be devastating. ’I am not gonna lose.’ But there was a lack of fear on Rosso’s face.

If it was him from before, he might have put up a struggle, but if the situation didn’t change, he wouldn’t have cursed at his death. But now, with the recent recollections of his past as well as a certain understanding of who he was, Rosso understood one point clearly. ’I don’t want to die.’ And it was with such belief that he rushed towards the enemies.

The talisman papers flew into the air, along with the inks. These were the binds that were thrown his way to impede his movement and turn him into fodder for the Knights.

But Rosso ignored them with a swipe of his arm, sprayed a bit of blood that was slowly turning into letters, and targeted the magic of the exorcist directly.

It was putting fire against fire, causing the seals to turn inert. However, that was only part of the attack, as countless Knights in bulky armors rushed to him at a speed far stronger than Rosso ever anticipated them to move.

Not to mention, he hadn’t even reached the surface of the water yet, but Knights were already flying his way, intending to obliterate him in the sky. ’Fools.’ He spoke, with his body turning fainter by the minute, while a domain formed around him spreading toward the oncoming knights, who did show some struggling expressions on their faces, but as the paper on their armor started to show signs of burning, they were able to ignore the Curse of Loneliness that Rosso just released from his body.

"You." Not to mention, although he had turned invisible to most, there were still some who could look at him, specifically the Exorcist, as well as a Knight whose blood Rosso found a bit delectable. ’Dangerous.’ he crashed into the water as the Master ranked Knights were unable to see him, making it easier for him to escape.

But that was only the case for a little while, as an order came from Amir, and all the Knights aimed their attack in the position Rosso was in. ’This is troublesome.’ Rosso’s body moved like a jet across the churning seas, jumping from one wave to another while he dodged the attack of these countless Knights.

As for why didn’t he attack the Knights while being Grandmaster himself?

The reason was the armor, Rosso knew his limits, he was never a direct fighter, and unless he could come in contact with the flesh of the opponent, his lethality would go down a level.

However, this alone was not the reason why Rosso didn’t choose to make any big moves at the moment. "Flow out." Out of everyone’s sight, in this massive sea with tumbling waves, there was a thing red string of blood being left in Rosso’s wake.

It didn’t matter what position he would take, he would always leave a small tread of blood that slowly compressed toward the ship of his enemies and turned into letters.

If you can’t overpower your enemy through strength alone, then play a different game entirely, overturn the entire board, and force them to play a game at which you are good.

Which is what he planned. A plan so simple that no one would have thought it would work, generally. And how can it work? Not everyone has such strong control over their blood, nor is it so common for the blood to be a carrier of curses without harming the user.

Ignorance will be the downfall of his enemies.

Before their ignorance can catch up to them, a cry comes from the sky, while a body covered in an armor far heavier than the Knights from before comes crashing down at Rosso, along with two others in their respective armors, carrying strength far higher than the one’s from before.

And with that slam, Rosso, who had been swimming and escaping from the Knight’s attack had his spine broken, crushed to the extent that his stomach ruptured, causing blood and his organs to flow out. "This pain." The injury started to heal the moment he was hit, but Rosso didn’t have time to focus on that, as the enemy that came this time made his hair stand up.

’Strong...’ In his eye, he could see a cover of Aura covering this enemy like armor, and with some his eye of insight tried to look deeper, a few more things made his face far uglier. ’A monster.’

This bastard seemed to carry similar blood abilities as Rosso, but while Rosso was still learning, the man in front of him was already covered in blood armor with feather texture, some of which flowed out of his armored arms like feathers of a bird.

This was the very same man that was able to see Rosso even white his Curse of Isolation was active. ’He is dangerous.’ The curse of isolation gave him an edge before.

Although this man can see him and give commands to his companions, there is a certain delay, which always ends up giving Rosso a certain edge during his escape, but now with that man directly entering the battle?

Their attacks will be far more synchronized and with faster reactions. ’Cursed bastards.’ Rosso finally felt some genuine hatred for this man who came after him, though he had no luxury to show his hate at the moment.

No, it was the perfect time to show them his hatred. ’Thanks for bursting out my stomach.

His hands moved in different positions while the blood that spread into the sea started to form letters at a greater rate.

"How about some sea sickness." Like a heartbeat, something spread in the seas, something that turned the ears of its victim buzzing, something that disturbed the actions of the exorcist.

Something that caused the paper sticking to the armors of these men to burn off at a faster rate than expected.

This was a simple curse made to offset and use up the energies of the Exorcist. A plan came up in the instant he found them and the spells they were using.

However, Rosso also understood that after this attack, he barely had a few seconds before more paper talismans were thrown out forcing the situation to return to how it was before.

Well, that’s where the giant circle he had been drawing in the sea came into play. "Seal of Amori." A simple curse technique, that is used by many exorcists and even curse users once they wish to seal curses in an area.

Rosso used this technique to seal the ship and its denizens away from the outside world, freeing him from the torture of the Exorcist on that ship, and leaving these Knights as well as this odd enemy susceptible to his curse.

*Boom

Which he did succeed at, but only partially. "Sealing nails." Like harpoons in the seas, multiple bullets with inscriptions were fired toward Rosso whose guard was down while casting the curse spell.

Making him easy pickings for his enemies at the front.

Nails struck his body one by one, two of which directly stabbed him in the head, where one of his eyes burst like a watermelon, but Rosso’s actions didn’t stop, and he succeeded in casting the spell.

And it was at this moment that Amir came from the sir, his mechanical MAAS arm dripping with blood-forming an awn, which at first struck and cut Rosso’s arms to pieces, then his legs.

It was a complete suppression, there was no way to fight back for his opponent.

But even with such pain, Rosso didn’t lose hope, he did work out the sentence. "I won." Which was inaudible in the ocean, but Amir still got the meaning of it.

Though there was no panic on his face. Dragging Rosso’s body to the surface of the seas, the flap of his face armor released as he said. "So you think." Turning Rosso’s body toward the ship... there was nothing.

"??"

Rosso had failed, the talismans were already in the air stirring and sticking to the bodies of the Knights, while the curse energy in Rosso’s body started to die down under the suppression of the nails.

In this battle, Amir won.
