Chapter 415: 7.07.3 Messed up sky.

Old and experienced, that was the perfect way to explain the Knight named Tajdar. A man that Remira remembers clearly, as he was one of the men who had taught her when she was just a child.

And had met regularly when she was active in the Order while taking multiple missions.

So it’s not like Knight Tajdar should have forgotten her. No, he knew who she was, he knew it the moment his eyes fell on her at the café. It’s why he hurried even more considering who she was meeting with.

"Teacher I was ju..." Not daring to look at the old man’s face which he saw after decades later, the man tried to speak some words. But he couldn’t. Was it the shame or fear he was experiencing at this moment? It was hard to tell.

"I have no stupid like you. Stop and go away, don’t disturb other’s peaceful time." Such a reaction and the word ’teacher’ Surprised Remira as it was a sign that this adventurer could be considered her senior.

Which meant that this man was a prospective Radiant Knight. But for some reason, he was kicked out even before the bloodline ceremony. This is rare, as even among failures, they mostly join the logistics department of Radiant order called the "Eyes". Or join the order of Magistars.

But it’s rare for them to leave Radiant Order, as generally, the majority of members of Radiant Order are orphans whose lives had been impacted by the Curses or the forces of the occult in one way or another.

The other side consists of descendants, who generally don’t possess the blood of Radiance due to a simple rule established a long time ago, but if they wish for it, they can join the Radiant Order without an issue and obtain the blood that flowed in their parent through a ceremony.

So it’s rare to see someone who must have studied under the teachings of Radiant Order leave and become nothing more than a small-time Tomb Raider.

"Teacher, please. At least you should hear what I have to say. What I have witnessed. I need someone to help me." Begging to his teacher, the man named Rota appeared desperate. Which he was if the story Remira heard was true.

But didn’t he survive whatever the encounter was? So by informing the Radiant Order of the danger should be enough, isn’t it?

Which meant that there was more to the issue than he was letting on. And as expected, Remira was correct. "I know what you have to say, it’s why I warned you all those years ago. Now nothing can be done, nor do I wish for others to face the same fate as yours." Tajdar appeared to be much more aware than he let things on. Though he did give away some crucial information, that made Remira interested somewhat.

But from a stern look of Tajdar, which reminded Remira of the old days, she dropped her head and said. "I will be leaving." She said to her old teacher before giving the man one look, finally noticing something odd.

’He doesn’t dare to look outside.’ Earlier she thought it might be due to the shame of facing his old teacher. But considering the words that Tajdar spoke as well as his actions. Something clicked in Remira’s head. But she chose to remain quiet and leave the vicinity, leaving the two to sort out their issues.

A lie of course, because her dog-like senses never left them.

"Rota, don’t drag others into this. There is nothing the Order can do at this point. You chew more than you can handle." Dragging his old disciple to a corner, where no prying eyes would touch them, Majdar warned his disciple. Explaining how it was he who had stopped his request from going any further in the management.

All in an attempt to save Rota some charges which would probably push him into jail. But Rota didn’t care.

"You don’t see it, no one does. But I do... the things that float in the sky, always eyeing us like food."

"Mohammad, Rejha, and Asna, all of them are dead, for they dared to notice their presence. I don’t want to be next." The ruins were bizarre, the deeper he had explored in that place, the wider the area became.

Rota even came across entire biomes where some small critters lived, some with magical properties that would be loved by magicians. And the harvest Rota had made at that time had almost blinded him. Making him go deeper, although the suspicions among his party members were getting greater with time.

A great mistake that he came to regret soon after.

"Those things, they eat you alive. They exist in reality, that I am sure of." The scene of his friends being taken apart alive in front of his eyes was horrific to this day. But after the sacrifices of his three party members, he had come to understand some rules on how to get rid of such a fate.

Ignore them.

Ignore them and your life will go as usual. Otherwise, things would turn bad for him.

"Blind yourself that’s the only way to escape. Everyone would reach their limit at a time." Majdar for a lack of a better word, still somewhat cared about this old student of his. He regretted what happened to him as well as regret that he couldn’t teach this fool properly during his developing years.

He might not have walked the path of an adventurer then and hence might not have come across that infamous forbidden site, which has taken the lives of so many.

Greed, this was the issue.

’Greed has always been his weakness... just like curiosity was her’s.’

Seeing that his teacher was not budging nor was there anything a mystic could do to help him. The man got tired and left the scene. Appearing much more disturbed than he appeared when he played that act.

As for Majdar, seeing that his old student had left. He walked for a bit before moving toward Remira. This surprised her at first as this was a sign that Majdar was aware of her peeking at their conversation.

But she stopped and didn’t bother running away. She just went ahead and made Majdar’s journey shorter. "I know my fault teacher," Remira said, bowing slightly as a form of apology.

"Osana was it?"

Remira nodded at those words.

"Your apology has lost all meaning to me due to the amount of times you have pulled something like this again and again." There was disappointment in his voice, knowing that this little girl hadn’t changed a bit nor did she learn anything from the punishments she was given as a child.

But this is not why Majdar was here for. "So I will just say two things. Stay away from that man and don’t go in an attempt to help him."

"That man had been given multiple chances before, I have even helped him find a good job far away from Leshen. But he abandoned it in pursuit of riches. The trouble he brought to him was born out of his own greed. There is no need to pity someone like him." As he reached this point, Majdar sighed a bit, before accepting the fact that knowing Remira and the amount of trouble she had pushed herself recently into.

She might do something foolish again. "So come to the training hall after 12 of night, I will explain to you the reason why following that man during this time would be nothing more than trouble."

Although Majdar was unaware of Remira’s true nature and the purity of her bloodline. Majdar understood Remira’s importance to the Order and the fate she shouldered.

As although his strength was not enough, due to being one of the teachers of the Knight apprentices, Majdar still had some sway with his old students and hence was aware of some things that many in his position wouldn’t be able to.

Which is why he had to make sure Remira didn’t make any foolish mistakes. For the place where his foolish student ventured into was a place where no man should ever walk into. There was a reason it was named the Forbidden Land by virtually every single organization in the world and deemed impossible to explore even by greater beings who have ascended to a higher realm of existence.

So what could Remira do against such a wall?

And wasn’t it better to prevent her from walking into such a place due to her ignorance?

’I have to say, she had this talent to attract trouble.’

Fate is the most bizarre thing in this world. One time, you were at the top of the world, manipulating parts of a country. Then suddenly you were turned into a refugee, hiding among the military while being cut off from most of the world with the exception of some close subordinates that operated out of Yethel’s capital.

But it was good enough I guess. Although the fate of the totem is limited by the number of followers, it still placed me on the same level as those strong legendaries when it came to my soul alone. Giving me a level of protection.

That is if I can control this newfound powers of mine.

"Recruits, I won’t say that things would remain peaceful, I won’t lie to you about how strong we are nor how you can definitely see your family after the battle begins."

"But what I will say, is that by giving your all today, you will ensure the survival of those behind the frontline...."

And so, the training for the recruits started. A training for a war in which most of the faces I see here would die. And I will die alongside them, multiple times if I can.

’Which is good.’
