Chapter 348: 6.03.1 A test again.
"Work with my potential killers?"
"Or people who appreciate your talents. And besides, I originally came here to kill you for your identity as a prince. But I have watched you for a while now Prince. I know you are unlike those hypocrites. You are better, you still hold the heart of a mortal in you. So, you are someone perfect to join our organization."
"Hmm... what is the name of your organization?"
"Now, now, don’t get ahead of yourself." With those words, she left the scene, leaving Amir alone in his room.
"She is confident enough to consider me a potential recruit?... These ones are dangerous." These were the very people that were planning to kill him. And he would have been dead if not for his hobby.
’If their words hold any truth in them, then my research is very important to them. Or they see a potential that none close to me ever noticed.’
The engine he worked on was a simple electric motor, neither using steam power, any kind of fuel, or even magic, nor a mixture of these three. It was a simple electric motor that could run under electricity.
This was not new as well, considering electric motors were already in use at a small scale to generate electricity for the cities and communications.
So why was it special?
"The only unique aspect about my engine is the zero friction bearings." Zero friction means no loss of energy, making the engine much more energy efficient. An accidental side effect of his research, was where he tried to deal with heating problems in his motor.
’This is what interests her.’ It was easy to see where the uniqueness lay in his creation. But there was a reason why his project was still considered incomplete. ’It still doesn’t generate enough force to push anything above 98 kilograms when compared to a steam engine used in modern cars.
’An electric engine is hard to make without using magic theory.’ And it was hard, Amir knew that he alone couldn’t create something out of nothing. He needs helpers, people who could create a battery that could sustain this motor, people who could recalculate his theories and check if he is correct or not. Even people with new ideas and perspectives, as he currently found himself in a mental sinkhole, unable to extricate himself out of the idea he had a decade ago.
’This is no good. I am letting myself fall for her words. I can’t be this desperate. I am a prince." he said to himself, before calling for one of his Knights. "Hemant, try to find out any new information about what happened in the WPC Factory, last night."
Hemant was the Bull Knight, holding the blood of a Tauran that Crow lied about. And it was a lie, considering the true Bull Knight towered over 2.5 meters, dwarfing Amir by a long shot. "Understood." Hemant was a proper knight who knew his position, unlike his Butler Burghim, who acted more like his boss.
Putting down his requests and wants with a kind face. This was one of the reasons why Amir hated him, as well as his family.
"And before you go, send in Knight Uzma, she has had enough rest. It’s time to work."
It didn’t take long till Amir’s request was fulfilled and a wavy-haired Knight appeared in front of him.
Barely adept and lacking the energy of a Knight. The woman named Uzma was far from what a knight should look like.
Even her hair was smooth and lustrous, showing that she hadn’t done any training recently. But Amir just took a deep breath, holding in his anger. "Uzma, I hold no interest in you. Stop with the hair and dress like a proper Knight." Amir spoke in a cold tone, startling Uzma, who put her head down and apologized.
She was asked by her family to make the prince fall for her. It’s why, the house canary was let out and forced to become Amir’s maid. Her sole job was to satiate Amir’s desire and make him forget their prior offenses. In a way, they sold their daughter away for this.
But Amir held no woman in his eyes, at least not the one in front of him. The hatred he held for nobles made it virtually impossible for him to look at Uzma as anyone other than the people he hated. "What have you called for me sir?" She asked after binding her hair in a pony.
"Bring me a census on the woman living with their brothers here, no parents as far as I can tell. And should be under the age of 30 and above 10." Hearing such a request, some weird thoughts bubbled up in Uzma’s head, but she didn’t dare to speak of it. She just nodded and walked out.
There was no need to act curious in front of Amir, who didn’t even care to treat her for the beauty she was.
So leaving as early as she could and requesting some help from her family is the better choice.

"Getting into the colony is harder than the factories. Any idea on how we will infiltrate it?"
"It’s a giant impregnable jail in which we have to enter under three days. I don’t see what we can do in such a situation."
"Why worry, let’s leave it to our new interim leader, let’s see how she does things." Far away from the city in a small town pub, the trio sat and talked among themselves while looking toward the north of Luthanza, where their target lived.
As for who their interim leader was?
"The food was delicious." The Giant bodied Sheva spoke, while she paid for her food, before turning to look at the end of the seating where her soldiers were having their fun time.
Two grayish and one bright, it showed that not all were evil, unlike what she had assumed of Jester’s organization.
But the issue was someone else, someone who stood not too far from the trio. ’Pure dark.’ She said, looking at the woman enjoying her time with a bright face. They seem to be having an office party. And unlike the others at her table, the darkness this woman carried was a bit too much.
"Bad Karma doesn’t mean that a person has killed before, just like good karma doesn’t mean they are noble beings."
"Karma is about change, the kind of impact that a being’s life had on his surroundings, how many impactful changes it brought to this world with any means possible."
"There had been humans crueler than demons due to the choices they have made in light. A single choice that destroyed the lives of many."
"And there are even cases some are forced to make such a choice, led by their situation."
"So don’t depend too much on that ability, don’t be blinded by it. It’s just a metric used to determine possible enemies and nothing more."
"It’s common for people to be driven mad by abilities, and I hope you are not one of them. We still have to save Baldar."
Being ignorant of her abilities and to help Sheva adapt to her new state of knighthood, she had received direct teaching under Jester, whom she had hated at a point.
But the more he spoke, the more she came to understand how knowledgeable this being was, able to answer the most obscure questions she could think of or, even tell her some weird secrets about gods and demons that were hidden from the world.
It’s also when she learned how her talent worked.
"Lack of self-control is famous among your bloodline. Or it might have been if any of them survived."
"But you are not like them, you are better, aren’t you? So practice your will, and learn self-control living among the criminals. You will be their jailer. Hope you don’t kill them all."
She recalled those words and then looked at the woman again. "The property is sold..." These were words that Sheva heard and understood why there was so much bad karma carried by this woman.
’Ignorant are sinless... or are they?’ She thought before shaking her head and tapping the table, which was a secret sign for the underlings to leave first.
Although they didn’t like this leader of theirs who was not even an adept-level knight, they still followed her words instinctively. It’s how they were trained.
Sheva was also going to leave as well before she noticed an extra oddity in this restaurant. ’There are eyes on me?’ She thought for a bit, before asking the waitress for some food to be packed and then leaving.
But she didn’t move to her hotel, she instead walked into the market and bought some daily dried rations as well as a few live chickens. "Rehman would love this." She said with a smile. And continued her shopping for a lot longer, even going so far as to buy some clothes and other useless stuff.
And then boarding a train under the watch of some curious eyes.
Which disappeared as soon as the train left the station.
What these people didn’t see was how Sheva jumped from the train and disappeared using dark as her cover, before the train had even left the town area properly.
’Guess, the stunt pulled by others has caused some problems. That stupid bastard.’ The stupid Bastard in her head was none other than Crow, who was the leader of the other subgroup of Team 2.
This whole mission was also more like a test, to see who would succeed in the seat of Leader.
