Chapter 345: 6.02.2 Meeting her again.

Amir looked calmly at the face of the intruder, who slowly faded away from the mirror, neither crying for help nor saying anything at all after the answer he got.

He just stood there, wondering who this was and how much they knew about him.

’Someone capable of infiltrating Luthanza? No place is safe then.’ There was no fear on his face even with such realization, he just smiled and went back to his work like usual.

To him, this small meeting might be interesting, he was even curious about how this woman was able to enter his room undetected, but he chose to ignore it altogether for now.

As for his reason?

’She read my notes...’ He smiled, looking at the slightly disturbed pages and blueprints he had on his table.

Whoever the intruder was, she changed her mind after this, she seemed to appreciate his creation, and that is probably why didn’t choose to act out against him. "Hope we meet again." He said. Returning to his work and the sleepless night that is to follow.

"Naish Aleem was it?" It’s been three days since that weird night and Amir was back to his usual self. Training among commoners, getting beaten by David, and then returning to his room and working on his little drawings which held no value in the eyes of his so-called "true family".

"Yes sir."

"Then tell me Naish, why should I accept you under my wing? I have many so-called Knight Geniuses ready to die for me. What makes you special."

The man that stood in front of Amir belonged to one of the families that bullied him in his early ears, of course, it was their older son who had disappeared from the world and this young man should be the youngest, from his generation and probably sent here to mend the relationship between them.

’Giving me a knight?’ He looked at the young man, read his resume, and thought for a while.

If he were to accept this knight, it would mean that Amir has chosen to forget their past slights while also gaining their support in the process.

If he were to deny them, it would mean he was still small-minded and immature, unable to extricate himself from the past.

Such a simple game, it was easy to notice what they were doing, and he truly didn’t wish to play their game at all.

But considering that by forgiving those people, he might just earn some goodwill from his grandfather. Who in turn might show him some leeway and let him work on his project.

"Passed top of your class, considered kind and caring by your classmates, and even joined the Hunter Corps for some experience?"

Hunter Corps, as the name dictated, was a regiment made up entirely of soldiers adept at hunting various supernatural monsters that might trouble the mortal world from time to time. As there are diverse amounts of monsters and creatures hidden in this world, the Hunter Corps also has different hunters specializing in different monsters as well.

And the man in front of him just happens to specialize in the hunter of the undead.

"Tell me about your easiest contract and the hardest one." Amir had already made up his mind to choose him, but considering he still had some free time, he didn’t mind listening to this young man’s words some more.

As for genuinely accepting him as part of his group? That was not going to happen. He knows how these noble families are, the words can be forged, and the classmates can be threatened or paid to shut silent.

What this boy’s true personality is, it’s hard for Amir to ascertain, but on this, he can be certain is of that the Aleem family won’t be stupid enough to send a mindless buffoon like their oldest close to him. This young man should be someone truly capable if he was sent on such an important job, but he probably also had something lacking, as, in a way, he was used by his family as a pawn to be slaughtered by Amir.

But he was not going to do it, with a mild smile, he accepted Naish into his group, a group made up of only two other Knights, one of which was sent to him by his grandfather.

Hemant Yzdi, a knight with a bull-like bloodline, had a slight mutation causing him to turn taller than those around him. The other one was a woman, also sent by a noble family with obvious intentions by the name of Uzma Omar. Her beauty was something to behold, and Amir it to Amir his whole focus to not show his true emotions when he accepted her into his Regiment.

The first time is always the hardest, so when Naish’s turn came, there was not much emotion in Amir at all. He had learned to drop his head when time was not on his side.

’One family disappeared completely and now two have sought refuge under me by sending their brightest to me... but I wonder, why is it a man this time?’ Amir thought for a while, before shaking his head.

He might understand how the mind of a noble works from books, but real life is much different than the books and there are different kinds of minds that might find different solutions to a singular problem.

Thinking their reasoning at this point is also wasteful in his mind.

’Whatever... I hope Burghim fulfills his promise today.’

"I am sorry to say young master, but your request has been denied by your grandfather."

An expected outcome, but it still hurt him. The little hope he had has been shattered just like that."Is it possible for me to know his reason for it?" There was much more he wanted to ask.

Why deny him this request after he had done everything that was asked of him? One shouldn’t forget who he used to be before getting the book, a genius engineer who could have changed the future if only.

’If only I hadn’t chosen to pause my work over the pursuit of this tasteless strength.’

There had been powerful transcendence before him and there will be more after him but soon after their deaths, they are rarely remembered by the descendants. Because the past is just past, and no one cares about his battle accomplishment in the world where gods walk among men.

But if he had never abandoned his work all those years ago, if he hadn’t been drunk on the power of Nobles who he had detested so much. Things might have been so different for him and if his creation was successful, he might just be as popular as a legendary being.

No, even more, as that creation of his held more potential than one can imagine.

"Young master, you might be the smartest man I have ever seen in my life, but a person’s time and focus are limited, you can’t distract yourself until you gain enough strength to stand on your own. And your hobby is something that does just that. It’s why your grandfather is against it."

"This is not a hobby, this is my life’s work and the future of this world." Amir felt offended how his years of hard work had been relegated to a hobby in the face of barbaric fighting. And in that anger, he couldn’t help but say. "Are you sure this is my grandfather’s words and not yours?"

Words that he didn’t wish to speak before, that he shouldn’t have spoken. But the Butler just acted oblivious to him and asked." I don’t dare to make such an offense." He said, but Amir knew, his butler probably never contacted his grandfather to begin with.

Because if he had contacted him. ’The response should have been harsher.’

"Nothing, just go back. I need some time to think."

"Young master, are you still going to work on your project..."

"Just give me time to think... I have had enough of you for today>" After kicking the bullet out, Amir sat back on his chair, with his hand on the throbbing head.

"It’s the first time I have seen a Prince like you..." A voice sounded from his back, a face that he had seen a couple of days ago, once again materialized in the mirror.

"You dare to come back?" Amir asked, looking curious at this fearless entity.

And the entity nodded with a kind smile on her face. "I needed to see the face of the liar who had claimed to catch me." There was a hint of mockery on her face. "I waited and waited, but no one came for a visit, leaving me alone."

Such fearless words, treating his threads like light air, and even that hint of mockery, all combined made Amir suddenly smile. "Miss Assassin, I wonder why you are here again?"

"Just curious... my siblings have decided to abandon this mission, and we will be leaving soon enough. Making me pretty free these days."

"So you came to me? Just out of curiosity?" Amir found this woman more and more interesting. Considering his identity, it won’t be hard for him to call for a Grandmaster-level existence to protect him all day. Not to mention, all kinds of divination and spell methods to track her down.

If Amir really wanted, it wouldn’t be hard for him to find her.

But he didn’t do it.

"Well, part of it is entertainment. It’s rare to see a unique Prince of Bloodcrow like you." She smiled, mocking the earlier scene where his words held no value in front of his Butler, showing that the power dynamic between the two was not as simple as Servant and Master. But much closer to a jailer and prisoner.

"What’s so different about me?"
