Chapter 336: 5.17.4 A fun secret.

Farhad, oh Farhad. Living the life of a dog, I see.

A dog with so much freedom, that he could run to his old home if he wanted.

He chose to stay here. He chose to stay with us and learn about us, see what I was doing and see why I was doing it.

But the true reason he stayed here was simple.

"Don’t pursue my sister anymore." he said, showing his submission to me. Which I actually hated to a certain extent. This is not the Grifter I remember. His focus should be on killing me, finding new ways to end me, enjoying my death in various ways.

And when he can’t kill me, bidding his time in his cage, waiting to pounce on my throat, ripping it apart.

Grifter was my first real friend, the first thing that actually understood me, the first one who lived that dream along me.

How could he be so weak now? Or was it a game, I wondered?

So as to not ruin this surprise, I played along, while never entering his mind. As I wished for his actions to be a surprise. Just like now. Using the identity I gave him, he dared to visit Remira who has been bound in chains and filled with so many drugs that it virtually made her a dead person.

That was the only way to impede her blood from acting out, stop her from going crazy and burn the chains. This is the only way for us to bind her without wasting precious magic resources on her.

She was not that worth.

"You are... other side of the bars?" Barely able to look up, she was surprised to find him out and about, unlike her, who had been bound in chains. Which meant, he was not a prisoner.

At least, not a prisoner like her.

"I never was, I came here out of my own will... and you shouldn’t have come here." He spoke, knowing that it’s partly his fault for this to happen. He is probably the reason she was here.

And he was right, Remira was here to track him down. And she had already done so before not too long ago. But failed only due to one reason. "You promised Farhad... but then you lied and ran away." More like distraction.

In Pulgasiri, she had come hunting down Farhad, all in an attempt to save him and stopping whatever Jester was planning with him. But the end result?

Knowing she was after him, He used his body pieces and threw them around, making it harder for her to track him.

Why did he do so? Why would he do something so stupid, so dangerous?

"I had reasons... Captain and I am sorry for breaking my promise to the Radiant Knights. But this is good enough. I am in a good place, and he won’t touch my family anymore." He tried to explain his stance and although apologetic, even ashamed, he continued by taking out a pen and paper. "I know that I have no right to say this to you. But they have allowed me to take any message you want to send out to the Knight’s order, if you have something to say, please speak. That’s the least I can do for my crimes."

And Remira, hearing his words also fell into contemplation.

Things went wrong since the start. She shouldn’t have played this game no matter what.

But then again, the life of her compatriots were online.

"All of them died already, you shouldn’t think about them anymore." Were the words spoken by that very same officer who was responsible for her capture.

He spoke the names of a swell the methods of their deaths in detail, letting her know that all her planning was fruitless. Those were dead men the moment they decided to help her. With no survivors, there were no one to grieve for them.

Instead, by displaying their names and identities in the papers, they had been mocked by the country, hated for their betrayal and the family they had in the country themselves have denounced them. Saying that they never knew their father, grandfather or uncles would betray the country they grew up in.

Monsters in their eyes, worse than Remira who was a foreigner and had nothing to do with this country.

Remira understood why this man was speaking such words to her. They wished to break her will, show her that she was nothing beside a grim reaper that brought death to many people, destroyed countless families, all in an effort to mess with a country not her own.

But that was not the worst of it.

"... I can’t say. I don’t have any right." She said, dropping her head in fear for the first time.

There was nothing she wished to say anymore, not after the revelation she had all alone in her prison cell when "he" had visited.

"Captain, I don’t know what he spoke to you. But you shouldn’t take it realistically. He is... Just know that I can’t involve myself anymore, but I hope you do. End him. Free me and others." Farhad’s words sounded weird to some, but the things he had seen recently, the creations and weapons, they were too much.

"He is building an army and much, much worse things... I don’t know how many will die when he shows his fangs." Farhad belonged to the military household, and hence he was privy to wars. How they were fought and what actually mastered.

The specialist made a small part. And generally in his country, due to their huge population, the amount of specialist was much larger than both Pulgasiri and Yethel Republic combined.

Even the two countries on the other side of Cynark, named country of Sumire and Langfurt were nothing when confronted by the giant that was Cynark.

But due to the backing and the old forces those two country had, Cynark didn’t bother touching them for now and maintained their attention on the weaker countries without any backing, like ours.

As it would be foolish for them to go after a lion when a cornered newborn cat was waiting for its death.

A cat with poisonous fangs.

"Then just tell them what you told me. They will see to it, he doesn’t do anythin..."

"He won’t allow it... he just wants..."

"He wants me to beg, isn’t it?"

"..."

She really was not as stupid as she used to me.

"Just go Farhad, I won’t beg for my life, I won’t let him get what he wants." She said, but to me, it wasn’t hard to falsify her words and send out a letter where she begged for her life, humiliating the Knights.

But I won’t do such a thing, Knowing Remira and the identity she held, those knights won’t believe a word of it, even if Remira were to beg for her life.

Besides, I know for sure that she knows for sure that I can’t kill her. Torture is enough, breaking her mind even better and breaking her will is the best.

But I can’t reach the Will part, she was too shameless to be affected by the truth.

"Then I will just tell your situation in the letter, they should be able to do something." Farhad spoke, but at this point, knowing what my intentions were in sending Farhad here, Remira didn’t speak a word.

And after a while of not getting any response, he left.

"You must be enjoying it." She said to the dark corner of the cell.

And a voice came out from it. "Yes, why won’t I enjoy watching a murderer like you suffer?"

At my words, she fell silent. She didn’t speak a word, but she did stare at the darkness. Although aware of what she had done, her will was not broken to this day. "Shameless." I said. Before the dark shadow body of mine disappeared from the cell.

Farhad wanted something, anything from Remira, which he can use to help her. But he didn’t know why, she refused to accept his offer and didn’t say a thing.

She just kept her mouth shut and waited for the whole thing to be over.

’She hates me, I suppose?’ He thought, knowing that what he did might have strained the little relationship they had.

A relationship where he was split apart multiple times. And who knows, how many times did she took his head off.

But none of that mattered. He is a dead man, and a small rat in Jester’s cage, just for his entertainment.

The only thing special about him was given to him by Jester as well as his Father. And in a certain part of his mind, the fact that his father was forced to give up his everything by none other than Jester.

Turning him into his perfect creation. Just like Jester had done to him before.

"You spoke too much Grifter."

"Then you should have stopped me. But considering you don’t worry about it, I fear the war is close by."

"Well, you are not wrong. By the time she is released and expose what I plan to do to the world, it would be too late."

I want Cynark to bleed for what it had done. Let them experience the same pain I did.

"Many innocents will die."

"You, a person with a past life, are saying this to a being that refused a new life. Which was a proof of reincarnation cycle. So why bother with few deaths?"

"It would be a relief for them. Freedom from the misery that is brewing in the horizon. By the time they are back in this world, they will have long escaped it."

"What do you mean?"

"That... it’s a secret. A fun secret."
