Chapter 235: 4.06.3 Piss off
Being a level below, it was absurd how much danger Owl possessed. Although lacking any way to harm her, his talismans were a force to behold, even though she had fallen for them before. So what of the people around her in the tank?
Not to mention, considering his use of Talisman, there is a high chance, they had long fallen into the trap, and getting out of the protection of the car would be stupid for others.
Of course, Remira doesn’t care about anyone else beside her mother in this group. But it didn’t mean she would let them die for no reason when she had the means and understanding to stop them.
It was why she chose to confront Owl by herself.
And the moment she climbed out of the Tank, the whole cave suddenly lit up by the golden paper that burned with a slow flame, as they floated around.
"I appreciate your choice of Knight Remira." Owl showed his appreciation by coming out himself and continuing. "... If not, I would have lost my bet."
’Bet with who?’ Remira wondered before she came to the conclusion that this man was not alone. There must be others, if not, there was no way this man would dare to expose himself in this narrow tunnel.
No matter how powerful and annoying his talisman was, due to the narrow tunnel, it would be harder for him to maneuver around her and escape like last time.
"Speak, why are you here?"
"Please Sir Knight, there is no need for such foolish questions. We both know why I am here. And after what happened in that Mausoleum, my master is a bit annoyed."
These words were enough to confirm one thing, The Jester had a way to watch them. As for how much he could see, she didn’t know. But it’s not like there was no way to find the truth. But it would require a glib tongue and some time, either of which she didn’t have.
"Then there is no need for any further dialog." Remira made her move, or so she thought before Owl put his hands up and spoke. "No, you come to the wrong conclusion Sir Knight, I am not here to fight. I am not suicidal enough to face you, nor the gentleman in the other Tank." Remira’s eyes narrowed. She wondered just how much did this man know?
And how did he know?
She was sure of one thing, that Farhad was in no way under Jester’s influence, even his flames had a protection mechanism that would burn away any outside influence.
As for using critters like he used to in Durum? There was no chance in this cold place, even in this tunnel, there were no signs of light at all, just cold and ice.
So how did he do it?
But sadly, this was not the time to ask such questions. Nor was she planning to listen to his words anymore.
With people like this, she has to show force and not give them time before they do either thing or prepare. So after a pause, she ignored his claims of "not wishing to fight" and rushed toward him.
But before she could strike him down, an explosion was heard that shook the whole cave.
One of the many floating Talisman had just exploded, causing her to stop in her steps. ’This bastard.’ She thought while looking at the whole illuminated tunnel and the floating Talisman in it.
’Just how many?’
"Do you wish to die together with us?"
"None of us would die if you happen to hand us the young and foolish, Farhad Maisel."

"Professor, it seems like your daughter attracted some dangerous individuals this time," Dinesh said, but he couldn’t help but wonder. ’Who are they to know of this tunnel and how can they be so sure that we would choose this path?’
The same thought that Rajara was having. In her mind, either they were the Cynark military or some other party who had a connection to the military, otherwise, it’s impossible for one to know of this hidden tunnel.
Unless of course, there is a traitor amidst them.
A far cry, considering how they were a small group of elites who were each under the effects of powerful contracts. Was there a loophole she didn’t know about?
Even if there was a traitor, then what about Remira knowing these people? If these people came here for Remira, how did they know Remira would end up here?
These people seem to have some personal connection with Remira and it would seem they have fought not too long ago.
So many questions, but it was hard to know who was behind these people.
"They are not dangerous, but smart as well, those talismans are not simple illumination talismans." As Rajara spoke, an explosion was heard, causing the old face of Dinesh to crunch up. "This is dangerous."
"Richard, what are your senses saying?" Dinesh asked, but Richard just shook his head. "They are screaming at me to run while abandoning all of you. Our vehicle can’t move forward as long as those talismans stay afloat."
"Then we can only put our hopes on that Hamuk." Dinesh thought, sighing at this situation. But Rajara on the other hand had no such thoughts.
Hamuk was a Knight, not a mage, who was known to be versatile. His skill set was highly incompatible with the current scenario. And although he may be able to save a few individuals, he can’t do the same for others in their Tank.
’Just who are they?’
This was a death trap, there was no path forward or backward. The only hope Rajara had at the moment was her daughter. She hoped that her daughter might be able to find a way.

"Oye lady, why the struggle?" A rash sound came from paper stuck to the wall. "We have been stuck in the north for a month at this point and I need some peace and warmth back..."
"Scart, this is not the time for one of your moaning sessions. Just shut up, let the adults talk to her..." Before his words can end, his head is shot, causing his body to defuse and turn into a paper man.
Just like Remira had expected, this was not a true body.
"Sir Knight, sneak attacks are not very noble of you." Came the voice of Owl once again, followed by the man, who seems to be called Scart.
"Hahaha, good one lady. That bastard bosses us around to mu..." Before his words could end, another bullet was shot, destroying the talisman of Scart. "You people treat this all as a joke?"
"Life is one big joke to begin with." The new body of Owl spoke as he materialized right in front of Remira. "So why not enjoy it a bit?" Then with a twist of his fingers, a few more of the talisman exploded, causing the whole cave to turn unstable, where some chunks of huge rocks fell on the tank, causing a worried gasp to come from the.
"Move back," Remira ordered. But Owl shook his head. "Nuh uh uh!" He shook his head. "I said, give us Farhad, or I will collapse the cave and then take out his crushed body after getting rid of yours. But then you shoot me?"
"And I will shoot you again if I got the chance. So don’t make those threats."
"You think I won’t kill you?" Owl laughed suddenly.
"I guess, you are a bit arrogant after borrowing power from that blood of yours. Or do you think my Master won’t let you die like before?" Owl showed a disgusted expression before his face was filled with a smile again.
"The arrogant one here is not me, but you. Do you really think this trap of yours would be enough to handle me? I can melt a hole through this mountain and escape."
At those words, the owl’s eyes turned twisted as he said. "I can’t wait to see your face when it’s crushed under the rocks."
With those words of Owl, Remira confirmed one thing. He didn’t know that Remira’s mother was in the very tank behind her. If not, he would have said something else, something akin to pointing out her safety.
But he didn’t, he appeared completely ignorant of it.
’This is enough.’ She thought.
As Owl was getting ready to explode a few more Talismans in order to prove a point. Remira held her sword down. "Stop, you can have him." She said,
"Oh, I never expected Sir Remira to make such a smart choice?" Owl’s twisted face suddenly turned into a smiling one, before he requested Remira in a polite tone, unbecoming of his arrogance from before. "Sir Remira, please bring him here, I am ready to promise through contract, as long as you hand over Farhad. We will go and won’t bother you anymore."
"I can do so, but you have to promise me to not harm anyone in this group ever again, better yet, I wish for your kind to stay away from them."
"This request is a bit hard to fulfill, as I can’t speak of others in our church. But I am ready to sign it under my Master’s name, considering the adoration others have for him, they probably won’t ever bother those foolish researchers again."
’Done.’ Although this situation was not the kind she appreciated and her desire to kill Owl was all time high. She knew how to make the best of the situation.
