Chapter 234: 4.06.2 The gang is back.
Although it was hard to notice the age of a dwarf after they hit puberty due to their thick beard, Fahna understood who Sheva was speaking about.
It was the same boy with cut fingers who was staying outside the room, looking at them with a creepy smile. And from what she understood, those injuries were not old, but very fresh in comparison.
Not to mention, the moment she had learned the connection between her teacher and that monster, she had looked deep into the background of Sheva as well as the boy.
And although, there was nothing new in Sheva’s case and it was also harder for her to obtain the files from an enemy nation. Finding the identity of the boy was much easier than she previously assumed.
He was Krotal Smeltver, the lost son of the Smeltver family who was considered dead along with his father. Far cry from what she saw and hence complicating the situation.
Her mind couldn’t fathom why a boy would help the killer of his father, unless her Teacher never killed him or the killer was someone else, pushing the Boy into hiding in fear of the people who would come to silence him.
Then there was the third option, which was the lies of either Max or Sheva. They fooled the boy into following them. But from what Fahna understood of the nature of these two individuals, they were not the kind to drag children into their matters.
Leaving only one plausible option for her. A wrong one, as she never could infer how twisted the mind of Krotal actually was. To her, who had been training most of her life to become even stronger and better than her father. She never understood what insanity truly was.
Nor will she learn, for not at least.
"I will be waiting in the village to send that boy when the time comes." Fahna moved, there was no need to force Sheva for the moment, not to mention, that she was already happy to learn that her Teacher had come about. A proper dialog might be possible, pushing her closer to her goal.
"Mistress, is this the right decision? They might try to escape?" The butler asked her and Fahna nodded. "There is a high chance that it will happen, we can’t trust her as whether they know it or not, they are under that thing’s influence."
In her eyes, there was no question if her teacher was working for the Jester. The coincidences were just too much to ignore unless they were driven by some outside influence.
"Then why move now? Capturing them won’t be much of an issue." The Butler asked again. Wondering why Fahna was so forgiving at the endpoint. They were so close to knowing who or what Jester was and why he was trying to mess with Farhad so much.
But Fahna just shook her head. "Don’t look down on them, they were able to bring me and Max out of the encirclement. Which in my eyes is virtually impossible." Fahna recalled the reports she was able to get her hands on and knew just how dangerous the situation was. Even she, with her invisible flames, has a low chance of escaping from that place unscathed. But Sheva somehow did it, while carrying her as well as Max out of that place.
Isn’t it too bizarre?
And it isn’t like she hadn’t asked this question from Sheva before, but all she could get in return was a distrusting gaze.
"There should be others besides Sheva, and currently we are in the open and they have an advantage."
"Mistress, staying in the village would make it easier for them to watch us. It will become harder for us to move in case they are as capable as you say."
"Don’t worry about it for now, I have my plans."
Fahna might have backed off for the moment, but it was mostly an act of fear of retaliation that she might not see coming.
So she has to plan ahead and send someone to keep an eye on Sheva so that she doesn’t escape while accumulating enough force to ensure her success.
And there are already some people in her mind.

Remira remained in the small tank-like truck, which rolled into the tunnel and moved at a brisk pace but still left more to be desired.
It was too slow to her liking, not to mention, that she could see a hint of awakening from Farhad’s front.
Meaning that soon enough, he would wake up and ask some questions, which were thought to be answered.
If only they could move fast. Or, she can always just let him freeze for a bit. But considering the dangers of the tunnel, putting Farhad out was too careless. And it’s not like he had done some crime.
Her treatment of him was already harsh enough, she doesn’t wish to make it worse.
"Is there some drug in your hand that can send him to sleep?" She asked the Old Doctor who was forced to wake up under Remira’s request. Complaining a bit for being woken up so early, Dinesh opened a small box before checking his stocks of drugs.
"Give this to him, can’t say it will work considering his biology. But it is always better than nothing."
Remira paused and didn’t take the vial in an instant, she could already see the nametag and knew that it was poison, a dangerous one. "You wish to test him?" Remira wondered, but Dinesh just shook his head. "I won’t lie to you, yes I am... but I don’t believe other things in my drug box would help that boy at all."
From help, he meant to knock him out, and Remira, although a bit apprehensive, chose to accept this goodwill from this old man.
"You won’t regret it," Dinesh said, looking at the face of Farhad who was just injected with poison. "It seems to work," Remira said, seeing the activity in Farhad’s body had died down.
While Dinesh just shook his head. "Barely, although it was not as dangerous. I would have expected a slight reaction." They were in a closed space vehicle, the Dinesh didn’t dare to use anything dangerous for fear that it might splash in the tank.
But while the two were having such a dialog, the Tank came to a stop.
"Richard, what happened?" Rajara asked, looking toward Richard.
"There is an obstacle ahead and not a natural one caused by landslides." Being a scavenger, Richard had cultivated a few skills that were very important for survival in his job. One of which was to assess and determine if there was a trap ahead or not.
It was why the tank he drove was at first, while the one driven by the old Guard was following them behind.
"Work of professional?"
"Doesn’t seem like it, but it’s also a bit too obvious, there is a high chance, someone has been aiming for us here. And going back is also not an option, as we have been exposed already."
Due to a lack of proper light sources, the tanks were forced to use their headlights, which in turn had probably attracted the eyes of whoever was staying within these tunnels.
"Why bother, just go forward, it’s impossible for someone of legend to be here and if it’s a grandmaster, then we have one as well."
Who can be in this tunnel?
Who else if it’s not the Cynark Military?
Or so the group believed.
And considering the situation, whether they like it or not, they have to move forward.
’Why now of all time?’ Rajara wondered, before looking at her daughter, who was also as surprised as her.
There was no way it was her daughter. She hadn’t known of this path till they told her this, she knew.
Then how did someone set up an ambush ahead?
"Knight Remira, I would request your help here."
"My help?"
"Yes, in case they are in the military, they would probably have some apprehension about striking us."
"You wish to borrow the name of Radiant Hall?"
"Yes, we can’t afford to be captured here."
Remira sighed hearing Ricchard’s words, before turning toward her mother, who seemed to be lost in her thoughts.
"Ok, I will do..."
Before Remira could finish her words, a familiar voice echoed from the other side of the barricade. "I wonder if there is a Radiant Knight among your group."
’It’s that man.’ The eyes of Remira turned dark, before she opened the door and walked out of Tank.
"Just stay inside, and don’t try to drive back. The enemy is good with illusions."
"You have fought them before...?" Rajara asked, before shaking her head and ordering her daughter. "You stay here, Hamuk is a grandmaster, he can deal with them."
"I am not going to fight them alone. And a grand master’s help is always appreciated. But the enemy is an exorcist, a powerful one at that. Let me feel the situation and when I signal, ask Sir Hamuk to make a move."
Remira can’t afford for her mother, or anyone in this group to meet these guys, these members who claimed themselves to be part of the Church of Jester.
She has seen the fire in her mother’s eyes. She had been blinded by the past tragedy and probably wouldn’t be able to hold herself back if she were to learn who these people were.
Leaving no choice for Remira, other than to go and face these bastard’s herself.
She had already done so before, and she could do better this time.
