Chapter 216: 4.02.3 Exposed and destroyed.

"Captain.... What does he mean by this? Those undead are after you?" Farhad said as he got up after his neck healed at a faster rate than before. As for being angered at Remira’s previous attack?

Remira would have to answer for it later, but for now, the focus was still on escaping this trap.

On the other hand, when she heard the words of the Doctor, Remira knew that there was no need to hide it anymore. And with the intelligence of Farhad, it was already obvious that he would come to some conclusions on his own, which was a topic for later.

As there was something more important to talk about.

No, in Remira’s mind, the time to talk was already over.

With a thump from her legs, the tiles on the floor ruptured. "Move away and don’t fight." She ordered Farhad, who, although held loads of questions for the Captain, to get out of the way.

"What do you intend to do?"

"Destroy this facility."

With those words, the aura that surrounded her body flared up. There was no need to burn the poison in the air anymore, she had finally found the source of where this poison was released from.

There was a flow in this gas chamber. The poison that was released into the air was coming from somewhere and it took Remira a while before she was sure.

Hence her act.

There was no exit, she was well aware that the elevator was a fake after being woken up by Farhad, but she had still acted disappointed when she broke open the door and saw nothing.

As for going back? She can already smell a strong smell of gunpowder from the back. Her nose as well as strong instincts warned her about it. Unless she chose to expose some of her cards and utilize Farhad’s immortality, the back was not an option. Not to mention, there were probably two Masters waiting for her in the back.

One was the weird woman named Gehena, who seemed to have the power to bewitch people, while the man with the tea obsession, she can’t say for sure. But she knew he was on the same rank as the woman.

Leaving only one way for her.

Lifting her sword that burned with white flames, she stabbed them onto the floor, before giving one look toward Farhad, a warning from her eyes, which Farhad understood as he rushed toward the Doctor’s table.

"What are you doing?" The Doctor asked, but Remira refused to speak as she twisted her blade in the floor, before saying., "Melt." With those words, her hair turned white once again as the heat from her blade melted the floor.

A heat so intense and holy, that it might have burned Farhad if he hadn’t hidden on time. But even then, he can feel his skin sizzle even though the table shielded him from the direct exposure.

Which was caused by the holy aspect of the flames.

Which could easily be deflected if Farhad wished for it, all he had to do was summon his own corpse flames, which he can’t do due to his current circumstances.

He can’t let Remira know.

So he suffered from it, just like Remira’s previous attacks on his body.

Because if there was one thing he was good at, it was to handle a beating.

"Do yu... ow.. the mi...t..ke..." Before he could complete his sentence, the sound started to break down and then completely disappear from the room, along with the floor which slowly formed a hole in the middle with molten rocks slowly falling to the side and melting under the might of the fiery sword of Remira.

A foolish choice for anyone to make. That was the full strike of her sword when she used it under burning blood. After this, Remira might feel drained.

But she knew there was no choice, by kicking the floor before, she had already ascertained its durability. And she understood, no matter what she did, it was next to impossible for her to just use her physical might to break it open.

She had to choose and she ended up choosing this.

Or this is what she wanted the Doctor to think. As she was not a simple Master Level Knight, and this display of strength would only amount to a light exercise for Remira.

"His annoying voice has finally been silenced. Farhad, get up, it’s safe."

"Captain... I..." Seeing the coast was clear, Farhad got up from under the table while peeling the burnt skin off his body, before asking the question that was eating away at his brain. But the moment his eyes met her, he paused before continuing. "I am wondering how you control your flames... maybe I can learn something from you and learn to use the one I currently possess?"

"I will teach you, but first, we have to deal with what is under here... remember to stay behind me," Remira said, pointing toward the hole. "And no matter what happens, don’t try to be a hero. I can handle myself." With those words, she jumped down.

Followed by Farhad who couldn’t land on his two feet like Remira, who had already entered what seemed like an ancient mausoleum without any light.

If not for the burning blade of Remira who illuminated the place a little, she wouldn’t have noticed the bulbs hung along the walls. A recent addition to this place, from what she can recall.

"Guess, we are in the right place." She hadn’t forgotten what the Doctor had spoken about. So when she saw this place, she was not much surprised.

As she had said before, it was close to impossible for one to build a lab in this place without being caught by Cynark patrols.

Which happens at random intervals.

At the end of the day, this was a forbidden zone, and they would notice if any large-scale construction happened.

Meaning only one thing.

The facility above was clearly built on some pre-built structure. As for what it was? It was easy to see from the way this mausoleum was structured.

"There was undead in this hallway, make sure to not be jumped down by enemies from the back." The path was narrow and divided into parts.

As for long and what the true structure of this place was? Remira can’t tell at the moment.

But what she could tell was that the flames in her body were dancing crazy in a certain direction. She can feel something there. Something even her nose failed to find out as there was virtually no smell in this place.

No, it would be more appropriate to say, that this whole hallway smelled the same, making it almost impossible for Remira to distinguish things. So she can only use the rest of her senses and instincts.

And the flame helped.

"The Daugr?... Is the doctor controlling them?" Farhad asked. Recalling how the doctor had claimed that these undead were obviously smarter than normal undead. As for how much, he was yet to see.

"Can’t be certain yet, the flames have detected their aura not too far from here, but I don’t feel anything special about them." With those words, she led Farhad from the path, before learning to her dismay that these narrow paths were part of a maze.

And at the end of this path, there was someone standing.

A corpse with blue flames in its eyes was clearly looking at Remira.

A look that made Remira recall that horrific night for a moment, but her mentality was not weak enough to let the trauma define her. She easily broke out of her memory and asked. "Are you capable of speech?"

As long as she can recall, the beasts that attacked her all mutated into some wolf creature. Even the ones outside of her family without a hint of her family bloodline also evolved some of the wolf-like aspects on their body, while lacking any intelligence that the doctor has spoken of.

Which was a bit weird, as in Remira’s memory, it was hard for these things to be Daugrs he mentioned.

But if she were to answer what was similar between the two, it would be those blue flames.

"Aah..." the corpse said as it aimed a stick toward Remira.

"This?" Before she could respond, this stick exploded in flames and she felt a pellet strike her face before falling to the ground.

"A gun?" This didn’t make sense to her.

Flying like a kite, she disappeared and appeared next to the undead, before chopping its head off.

And only then, did she take her time to look at him clearly.

"Is this a Daugr?" Farhad asked, but Remira didn’t know what to say at the moment. As the gun in the man’s hand was not a simple gun, but specifically a flintlock

This person, the flintlocks, were in use just a few decades ago and they came into production a whole century ago.

But that was all she could tell, the clothes of this man held no insignia of any kind. But from the tailoring and design, it was also mass-produced in some factory, obviously a century old as well.

"Didn’t expect you to find it so soon, glad you didn’t miss the detail."

Then a voice came, much blurrier and mechanical than before. But for people like Remira, it was easy to make sense out of those words.

"How old is this place?" She asked.

"Around a thousand and four hundred years old."

"Were you here around 20 years ago?"

"Not in this place... But I was close by and witnessed everything."

"...." Remira turned silent, before asking. "Stay where you are... don’t try to run. I will be coming to you soon enough."

With those words, the tired expression from Remira disappeared and her gait completely changed, just to Farhad’s surprise, but he didn’t say much and followed her.

"Yes, I will be waiting. I have been waiting for someone with your bloodline for ages. I am glad you didn’t suffer the same fate as your family."
