The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 367: Seeing You Again

Chapter 367: Seeing You Again

Continue what? The madness of course.

Xu Feng thought the greatest pain he would ever feel was the piercing pain on his wedding night. He was wrong. This night was the night he wished he had never been born, and meant it with every fiber of his being.

He could wish he was never born as much as he wanted, but he wanted his children to be born. That’s why he’d resorted to this stance.

Once he’d heard his adoptive mother talking with her friends—one who just so happened to be pregnant once again with her fifth child—about new and strange foreign trends. One of which she was considering trying.

The woman had relatively mild child birthing experiences, but had heard that water births were easier and more natural for babies. She had also heard that birthing on hands and knees was less strenuous for women.

While Xu Feng wasn’t sure if this was true or not—teenage him had no care to research such thing—it was a teeny tiny hope he had and was clutching to for dear life.

"It’s out. You must persist, there’s only one remaining." Midwife Lee called to Xu Feng who was at his last leg.

Neither Midwife Lee nor Xu San understood how Xu Feng had lasted this long, or how he was even able to birth the first egg.

Even for Xu San who had never been through this sort of experience, she had seen eggs before, not just birthed eggs, ones that had developed for a few months to the point where their dad was out of confinement and could entertain relatives and neighbors.

Xu San wasn’t always a slave, so she had some experiences outside of Nanshan Estate, and she knew this egg was too large.

It was larger than some fully formed eggs that were ready to hatch. It was no wonder there was so much blood. It was no wonder Xu Feng’s belly was so large.

This was truly a monstrous egg, even cleaned off gently by her, it was still hot to the touch, but for some reason, she didn’t want to put it down. She wanted to carry it forever, and share her warmth with the child within.

The poor child that was destined to lose it’s dad before they met officially. It would break its shell only to be able to visit a long buried grave.

Xu San wasn’t sure when, but her tears were flowing like a faucet, no matter what she thought they wouldn’t stop. No matter how she scolded herself for letting down Xu Feng as his steward, she couldn’t stop crying.

This poor egg. She hoped it would at least have an intact brother to live out its life with.

The voices all sound far away. The near tears from Xu Hu Zhe, the mumbled coos from Xu San, and the urgent warnings from Midwife Lee. All of it had turned into a chant, a lullaby as Xu Feng drifted further and further away.

One was safe, but the other was still in an uncertain place. He needed to concentrate and push.

So he did, he pushed silently as continued to lose feeling in his body. This was almost better than the first round, much less painful when he was numb.

Xu Feng felt like an idiot. He knew this was somewhat of a backward era, and he hadn’t looked into any pain concoctions or numbing remedies.

Even plants with mild numbing effect would have been better than nothing. Then again, he was a first time dad, he was bound to overlook things.

"The second one is out. We need to clean him up." Even with this, the urgency in Midwife Lee’s voice hadn’t waned, in contrast, he was much more nervous.

He had anticipated larger eggs. He had in fact monitored the children in the morning via vein, but either he hadn’t gauged the size correctly, or the eggs were still growing.

It was like they had gone into hyperdrive or in time appropriate wording, they had gone into the phase in the last month to 6 weeks before the eggs hatched in Dongzhou where they had their last developmental spurts and gained greatly in size.

Except, they did this inside of Xu Feng, or at least they started the process.

It was beyond strange, but all Midwife Lee could worry about right now was if Xu Feng’s life could be maintained long enough for him to see his children before they sent him off.

Too much blood was lost, and he owed it to the nearly translucent and fragile looking ger to allow him to have his children see him off. Xu Feng had clearly given it his all to make sure it wasn’t a case of one body and three lives.

Midwife Lee worked to quickly clean Xu Feng up below the waist after handing the second egg over to Xu San to clean. The girl almost refused to rest the first egg in the prepared basket, but finally came to her senses.

It was a bloody scene but with a new set of seeds, Xu Feng tried his hardest fighting the dizziness from overuse of abilities. The nausea wasn’t even on his radar any longer.

One egg and then another. He did it.

His Xiao Long and Da Long were both so big and so pretty. Eggs could be pretty, his eggs were the prettiest.

Midwife Lee was shocked once again by Xu Feng’s resilience as he smiled at the two eggs in the basket. The silver haired ger was once again on his back, and was still drawing breath.

After playing his part once more, Xu Hu Zhe looked down at the pale ger, before bolting to the door, knowing exactly what he should do.

All the while Xu Feng wasn’t sure what Midwife Lee was doing. Trying to save his life?

It was obvious it was too late. The futon he was on was so wet, it might as well be a water bed at this point.

"Cover me up and leave."
