The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 323: Day Dreams

Chapter 323: Day Dreams

From one to three. One ger and two not gers.

And now three to five. One ger, two not gers, and two eggs.

Xu Feng didn’t do things in order or with any traceable logic. But then again, good things come in pairs, technically he was a pair too. There was a Xu Feng and a Xu Zeng!

[Xu Zeng, far away in Dongmen].

In the middle of the chaos and confusion, a tall figure stood out like a beacon of calm, almost becoming the eye of the storm. Silver hair, gleaming in the dim light, cascaded to the shoulders of the man who seemed to command attention effortlessly.

His slender frame covered a hidden strength, but it couldn’t hide his strong aura which was evident in the confident air that surrounded him.

Two vines, twisted and sinuous, coiled around his form like protective serpents, moving with purpose in the uproar. Despite the surrounding zombies moving closer to him, the man remained composed.

Nearby, a group of disheveled men in a sports vehicle watched in stunned disbelief as they witnessed the scene unfolding before them. They had underestimated this silver haired man.

They had dismissed him as nothing more than a mere youth because of his quiet nature and obedience. But now, faced with the reality of their mistake, regret hung heavy in the air, a silent reminder of their stupidity.

Surrounded by zombies that were only kept at bay by his vines, the silver haired man paused momentarily, a thoughtful expression crossing his features as he absentmindedly scratched his ear.

Was someone thinking of him? The thought brought a bright smile to his face, a radiant expression that seemed to momentarily dispel the darkness that surrounded him and this entire world.

In that small moment, even with the presence of the stench of decay and the relentless advance of the undead, the man’s smile shone like a beacon of hope.

’It must be brother,’ He thought.

With that extra dose of adrenaline, the silver haired man sprang back into action, his movements swift and purposeful as he navigated the chaos with a sense of purpose.

The stench of decay grew stronger as the vine pierced zombie head after zombie head, the putrid juices coming from their skull adding to the lingering smell in the air.

For Xu Zeng, he seemed impervious to the smells, as he fought to free himself from the encirclement. This was good practice.

[Back to Donghua]

After the heart to heart conversation with Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang, Xu Feng really did take heed. He wasn’t immortal before getting pregnant, and he surely wasn’t now. That should have been obvious, but...

Honestly, all his excuses seemed less important when he thought of the expression Xuan Jian made when he caught him in the courtyard, or the shaking of his hands all while holding him for dear life.

Even Xuan Yang could scold him. A young master, who should be willful, was scolding him for being too willful...Xu Feng had to admit defeat.

He promised to take things more slowly, and he kept his word.

In the peaceful sanctuary of the greenhouse, Xu Feng lounged idly. It was one of the places in Blooming Courtyard where he could truly unwind, where every corner felt familiar and comforting, a haven he had curated with care.

Despite the constraints of his house arrest, Xu Feng counted himself lucky that he wasn’t confined to strict bed rest. However, as he eased himself off the bench and glanced down at his burgeoning belly, a pang of discomfort reminded him of the toll pregnancy was taking on his body.

He couldn’t ignore the telltale signs of swollen legs, a reminder of the pains and strains of carrying two lives within him.

With a resigned sigh, Xu Feng settled back against the pillows arranged for his comfort, the plush cushions providing a welcome support for his tired frame.

He reached out to grasp the glass of fruit juice on the nearby table, relishing in its refreshing sweetness as he took a slow sip. It was a small indulgence, but in that moment, it felt like a luxury.

If not for the wisdom gleaned from his modern upbringing, Xu Feng might be sipping some fruit wine right now. Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang loved it, and couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t drink any.

He chuckled softly at the thought, being a "fake modern man" certainly had its challenges...

Xu Feng made a conscious effort to push aside the weighty thoughts that threatened to cloud his mind. The weight of the prophecy, the tantalizing possibility of leaving the continent, and the limitations imposed on travel—all of these concerns loomed large, casting shadows over his thoughts like storm clouds on the horizon.

But until the babies were born, Xu Feng was determined to embrace his salted fish lifestyle, to set aside the worries and uncertainties that plagued him.

He couldn’t afford to dwell on the conversation he had with Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang a few days prior, not when the arrival of their children demanded his full attention.

Xu Feng gently placed the empty glass of juice back down on the table, his fingers lingering momentarily on the cool surface. As he rubbed his belly affectionately, feeling the gentle nudges of one of the little ones within, a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

In the days since Xuan Jian had shared the news about their children’s energy problem, Xu Feng had made the greenhouse his fort. It was a place imbued with the most energy for the little ones.

And the children seemed to be benefitting from the plants, especially the rare and more energy rich plants. Their bumping against his belly would happen even when his husbands didn’t have their hands against his belly.

They would clamor around as if to let Xu Feng know they were there.

While he was still on ’Courtyard Arrest’ it wasn’t bad. He got to spend time with the children and rest his achy body. He could also spend time daydreaming about the adventures he would go on after the children were born.

But all things must come to an end, and his day dreams about going to auctions and exploring Donghua and possibly the rest of the Dongzhou continent before the portals were triggered, were cut short.
