The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL] -
Chapter 322: In the Still
Chapter 322: In the Still
The two snakes were pretending to slowly wake up to either side of him! But how could he not know they had been awake since he opened his eyes!
He wanted to feign ignorance, but it was obvious, as obvious as his baby bump. Xuan Yang even made a strange yawning noise...didn’t he know that even dramatic television shows they would make the yawn a little more natural!
His cultivation in the Dong Ancestor’s space had borne lots of fruit, he had just been too busy with real fruit to check the state of his cultivation. Five months of cultivation were wasted on this mortal man...or really rare demon beast who was raised in a modern world with too much media content to rot his brain...
Poor Dong Yang, he’d shared his treasure with the wrong ger!
Ignoring the two rising, sleeping beauties, Xu Feng dove into the heart of his concerns. "I put the jars of wine and jam in the cellar and the back courtyard in my space." He then paused for a moment to let Xuan Yang take in the new information.
With no change in breathing, Xu Feng knew Xuan Jian must have updated the other snake on why Xu Feng was so tired the day before. Even he knew his behavior was a bit too much.
"There’s now more space to make and store more wine and jams..." With this small addition, Xuan Yang shocked both men by being the one to cut in.
"It seems you plan on working yourself to death before the children are born." Xuan Yang seemed to be cool, but there was a heat to his words, that made Xu Feng’s heart hurt. For some reason he couldn’t draw breath to defend himself and his actions from the day before.
It wasn’t worth it. He wanted to provide, but his, no, their health—him and the two children—were tied together. Xu Feng couldn’t move so single mindedly anymore. He was directly housing two more lives within him. And he still wasn’t sure, but he’d felt a bump against his belly the afternoon before he’d overdone it.
The children were likely healthy, just slow?
After a week of being the overprotective one of the three, Xuan Jian became the voice of reason once more. "Feng Feng understands he needs to with more care. I’m sure the day before’s incident won’t repeat itself again."
"I’m sorry for worrying you." The three men basked in the new silence. This wasn’t the first time Xu Feng apologized, but each time was still a rare treat.
Xuan Jian continued the dialogue again, this time leaving Xu Feng a little shocked.
"Storage artifacts aren’t too rare outside of Dongzhou, but they are costly on the other continents. Ones as large as the two I showed you the day before, and the one Xuan Yang has, are quite expensive in this world."
’This world???’ Xu Feng thought. He looked from one man’s face to the other, and neither took this information as anything new. It made more sense why they hadn’t panicked too much about the Dong Ancestor and his space.
"But," Xuan Jian continued, "The space ring you have, seems to be a world of its own, and can’t be bought. Even in an auction outside, the price would be sky high, and would cause many deaths and robbery. The chaos would be endless."
"It needs to be kept hidden at all times." Xuan Yang cut in again, the worry in his eyes making Xu Feng want to tear up. There was so much emotion. It was as though Xuan Yang would give him everything he owned in that moment. "No one can know about it."
"Except Hu Zhe?" Xu Feng asked. The teen already knew about the Dong Ancestor’s space, would a second space be too much? It was basically the same...
"For now, Xu Hu Zhe doesn’t need to know it’s a living space. If you must tell him, tell him about storage artifacts." As Xuan Jian finished, the quick nod Xu Feng gave him solidified his own thoughts up to this point.
But still he needed to know for sure. "Xu Feng and I are not from the continent, or likely this world."
Xu Feng once again nodded. It wasn’t a question, but there was a question in Jian’s eyes. Why lie at this point? He was telling a secret and so was Xuan Jian, he would let the man continue.
"Our children, whether borne from me or Xuan Yang, will still have Xu Feng’s blood. While you don’t seem to have many memories of the outside world, your blood isn’t common." Xu Feng nodded again. He had no memories at all.
"I was born in Dongzhou, but not from Dongzhou. My "dad" or caretaker didn’t give me too much information..." Xu Feng trailed off, not sure what to share at this point. His story was long and convoluted.
Should he share about Xu Zeng? If he did, where would he say this mystical brother was? It was best to share what he could, and let Xuan Jian lead the conversation.
Xuan Jian was satisfied with this answer, and Xuan Yang seemed to take in all the information seriously. No bad intentions in sight, only understanding.
"Staying on this forsaken continent will only leave our children at a disadvantage. They’re already suffering from lack of energy. We need to leave when the opportunity comes."
Xu Feng listened carefully as Xuan Jian told them about the so called "Immortal Beasts" of the Dongzhou continent, and their life blood, as well as the five portals to leave the continent.
They wouldn’t be the only ones aiming for the portals or the life blood of the immortal beasts, but the gains outweighed the losses. They would likely need more energy to hatch their children in the meantime, so staying in Nanshan Estate wasn’t a long term plan.
Xuan Jian could go by himself...At this, both Xuan Yang and Xu Feng couldn’t agree. It was one thing to allow Xuan Jian’s men to go on adventures on their own, but to have Xuan Jian leave them behind, was unacceptable.
Their plans, would have to include all three...no all five of them.
