The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 317: Unimpressed

Chapter 317: Unimpressed

"We’ll figure it out together. Just promise me you will not take such risks again." Xuan Jian’s words still lingered in Xu Feng’s mind even as it threatened to go completely black.

It was time for a nap, and he was leaning in Jian’s arms. The world was right again, and the former iceberg now turned giant teddy bear was the perfect snuggle buddy. His warmth was reassuring, and Xu Feng was sure he wasn’t the only one who enjoyed this position as the little spoon to Xuan Jian’s big spoon.

The two children in his belly were enjoying being the littlest spoons.

As his mind began to fade into the much needed sleep mode, he was still shocked by the teddy bear protecting him in his strong and sturdy arms.

Xuan Jian wasn’t even remotely surprised about the space ring. Even with Xu Feng’s scattered explanation, and use of all the words under the sun—the cultivation words mixed with the ability user words he’d read and heard over the years—Xuan Jian understood.

He understood and took the strange situation in stride.

"I put the jars in my space ring," Xu Feng had mumbled out, his words slurring in weakened state.

"Mmm," The bear accepted easily.

"It’s a magical artifact," Xu Feng surrendered the information without holding back.

"Mmm," The bear again accepted easily.

"It might be able to sustain life." He once again offered, again fighting the thumping of his temples.

"..." Xuan Jian paused this time, before reversing to his accepting bear state. "Mmm."

"Grass, mountain, water..." He tried to list out the things he’d seen in his and Xu Zeng’s space when they were physically inside it. It wasn’t as grand as the Dong Ancestor’s space, but that was because there was no one to nurture it.

There was no doubt in Xu Feng’s mind that the Dong Ancestor was a great and powerful cultivator, whether he was a human or a demon beast. He was strong, and was likely very powerful to have a space so large, and able to hold living things.

He may have been one of the top cultivators of this world before he found himself in the Dongzhou continent.

Xu Feng realized he wanted to know more about Xuan Yang’s ancestor. But even so, such a badass, with such an amazing golden finger, and his (Xu Feng) and Xu Zeng’s space felt like a bigger golden finger...

Xu Feng’s brain was going off on a tangent, but still, he hoped to leave his own ring to his children one day. They would need to share it somehow...

As Xu Feng’s mind seemed to get further and further from the mark, the strong and deep voice of Xuan Jian pulled him back to a waking state, all while sending a small shiver down his spine.

It probably wasn’t a good idea to do any naughty things, but his face still grew hot despite his common sense.

"I have a few storage artifacts," Xuan Jian started, rummaging around until he pulled out a small bag from within his leaves, then another one. The two bags seemed like small coin purses, very well made and discreet, not like the basic "storage bags" mentioned in cultivation stories. These were good quality items that likely could hold a lot within them.

Xu Feng’s eyes widened a bit, and his curiosity seemed to send mixed signals to Xuan Jian. Did the ger know or not?

Still, he continued on, "My storage bags cannot hold living things like your ring, but I can store beast carcasses easily. But what I put in, it is harder to get out. There are restrictions on Dongzhou." He paused as if wondering if he should continue, or stop while he was ahead.

"You can’t use so much energy in the future, with or without the children. No one should know about your ring." He was firm here.

The ger was strange. The ger was a troublemaker. The ger preferred to lounge around most times, but the ger was also very determined with more secrets than he could keep track of.

He had a space ring that was more than a simple storage artifact and wasn’t shocked by Xuan Jian’s storage bags. Yet at the same time, he was clueless...

His ger was an anomaly. Xuan Jian almost wished the children were his. Even if they weren’t, he would raise them as his only children. He was committed to Xu Feng and Xuan Yang.

"You must use your energy in moderation. We need cultivation resources and gold, but one’s health is the most important thing..."

The words continued on and on. Some things Xu Feng heard, and other things blended together, but he was still comforted by his husband. This husband had more secrets for sure, but his love was apparent, a few secrets wouldn’t hurt.

"We need to get out of Dongzhou when the barrier weakens," Even as Xu Feng was lulled of to sleep, he heard the sentence loud and clear. And with everything inside him, he agreed.

They needed to leave this continent. Especially with the children on the way. "Yes..." He mumbled. They would also need to talk more after he rested his eyes, and everything—everything on his person needed a rest.

As Xuan Jian looked down at Xu Feng, who was sleeping deeply in his arms, he couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming mix of emotions. His husband appeared drained and pale, and his heart ached to the maximum.

They would need to have another conversation about this, a more serious one. Xu Feng and Xuan Yang needed to agree to some terms, especially when it came to taking care of his health during pregnancy.

None of them had experience with children before, but Xuan Jian was determined not to see Xu Feng in such a weakened state again.

Reaching out, Xuan Jian gently rubbed Xu Feng’s belly, his touch light and affectionate. As he did, he felt a subtle bump against his fingers.

It was as if the world had paused for a moment, and Xuan Jian froze in place, his eyes fixed on Xu Feng’s covered belly.
