Chapter 315: Saved By the Husband
Chapter 315: Saved By the Husband
He had a space—a space that allowed him to store and retrieve items at will. He could even peer into it while remaining outside. But the burning question remained: Could he enter the space himself, or was it something reserved only for his belongings? And his dreams?
As the excitement and curiosity welled up within him, Xu Feng’s gaze shifted to his round belly. The thought of risking anything with the children growing inside him gave him pause.
He rubbed his belly gently, torn between the desire for discovery and the need to protect his unborn children.
As Xu Feng attempted to shift his focus away from concerns about the children’s health, he turned his attention to the remaining wine jars that needed sealing.
It was time to clean up the cluttered back courtyard and make more space, not only for himself but for the children who would soon join their lives, more space to store resources!
Resources meaning future gold!
Determined to tidy up and create order, Xu Feng carefully sealed each of the remaining wine jars, ensuring that they were securely closed and ready for storage. With a sense of accomplishment, he surveyed the now organized courtyard, pleased with the improved layout and the jars ready to be moved.
With another thought, he intended to transport the freshly sealed jars to his mysterious space. However, this time, there was a noticeable difference. Instead of the jars vanishing instantly as they had before, they began to disappear one by one, each with a brief delay. It was as though they were being pulled away from the courtyard in a slow methodical manner.
As the jars continued to disappear, Xu Feng’s head began to pound, the pain surging through his skull and building like a relentless storm. It was more than a headache; it was as if the world around him was fading to black, and he felt himself losing consciousness.
The courtyard, the jars, and the world all seemed to blur and merge together in a surreal whirlwind of sensations. His vision became hazy, and his senses grew numb, leaving Xu Feng in a state of disoriented confusion.
For a moment, he teetered on the brink of unconsciousness, his grasp on reality slipping away. It was a disorienting and frightening experience.
As Xu Feng’s wavering feet threatened to give way beneath him, he desperately searched for something, anything, to steady himself. But to his surprise, in the sprawling expanse of the back courtyard of Blooming Courtyard, there was nothing within his reach.
Not a tree, not a wall, not a chair—absolutely nothing to provide support or stability for the 5 month pregnant ger.
It was a strange realization for him, one that struck him with a mix of incredulity and irony. Here he was, the master of the Nanshan Estate, surrounded by opulence and luxury in this world—he wasn’t the richest of the rich, but he was far from destitute for the time being—yet he found himself in a situation where his very wealth and abundance left him with nothing to cling to.
It was the ideal problem of the privileged, a rich person’s challenge.
In that disorienting moment, with no objects or structures to grasp onto, Xu Feng came to understand the irony of his situation. He wasn’t as wealthy as the Xuan family or even the Yilin’s Bai family, but he lived in a level of luxury that presented stupid challenges.
He was constantly striving to maintain a delicate balance between preserving his estate’s prosperity and avoiding financial ruin. Yet, being too privileged with too much space in his back courtyard was what would throw him out of balance.
The world around him seemed to blur and sway—laughing at his poor man, rich man vibes—and a wave of darkness threatened to engulf him once more. His blurred vision betrayed him, and he found himself descending, tumbling into the abyss with no way to right himself.
Ignoring the chaos of his fall, a single thought consumed his mind—the unborn children nestled within his womb. Fear and anxiety gripped his heart as he considered the potential harm his fall could inflict upon them.
Would he be able to protect them from the harsh impact of the ground?
Desperation coursed through him as he attempted to trigger his wood abilities, hoping that the seeds he carried with him would sprout and slow his descent. Yet, to his shock, even this seemingly simple task proved beyond his capabilities in his weakened state.
The effort only intensified the throbbing pain in his head, rendering him powerless.
With his abilities exhausted and his world spinning, Xu Feng could only resign himself to fate and pray for a safe landing. But, just before he could make contact with the firm ground, strong and familiar hands encircled his form, arresting his fall.
The comforting scent of sandalwood and the freshness of mountain air wrapped around him like a protective cocoon, providing him with a lifeline in the chaos.
Xu Feng found himself enveloped in a torrent of kisses that rained down on him without ceasing. Each tender kiss carried with it an overwhelming surge of emotions, transforming his initial fear into a radiant smile that lit up his features.
Despite his vision still being somewhat blurry, he could discern the familiar attributes of the person who had saved him.
The strength of the hands that held him, the distinct and comforting scent that enveloped him, and the lush fullness of the lips that showered him with affection—it was all unmistakably Xuan Jian, his husband.
In that moment, the relief of being saved washed over him, replacing the terror that had gripped him just moments earlier.
However, as he basked in the warmth of his husband’s presence, Xu Feng became aware of something more. He felt the trembling of Xuan Jian’s hands, a subtle but undeniable quiver that hinted at a deeper layer of concern and anxiety.
It struck him that while he had been overwhelmed with gratitude for escaping unharmed and protecting their unborn children, Xuan Jian seemed to bear the brunt of the fear and anxiety.
Even as Xuan Jian showered him with affectionate kisses and loving strokes across his rounded belly, Xu Feng could sense the tremors that coursed through his husband’s frame.
