The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 306: Locked Up

Chapter 306: Locked Up

Xu Feng decided early on that his pregnancy, while a significant and completely unplanned event in his life, wouldn’t dominate his every thought and action.

Despite the restrictions that prevented him from leaving the Nanshan Estate or even venturing beyond the confines of the Blooming Courtyard within it, he refused to let his pregnancy become an all consuming concern.

He was an unpredictable ger in most people’s mind anyway, he might as well do as he pleased.

In fact, he enjoyed the newfound freedom that seemed to come with the solidification of his relationships with Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang. Their presence, love, and support in his life had made him feel more comfortable than ever.

The time he had spent away from them had only deepened his appreciation for their roles in his life. The zombie apocalypse had a purpose...

Moreover, his understanding of their abilities and the secrets they shared had brought him closer to both men. He knew more about Xuan Jian’s talents as an immortal bloodline carrier and the extent of Xuan Yang’s powers—was his potential due to the Dong Ancestor’s lineage? The Dong family wasn’t a family with an immortal bloodline.

This little clarity also extended to his cheap brother, who was now living a safe enough life in another world during a zombie apocalypse. Was that really a safe life?

There were undoubtedly many worries on Xu Feng’s mind. Concerns about his children’s health, his brother’s safety, and the well being of his husbands and their entire household in a world that seemed ready to cannibalize those with strong potential and bloodlines.

Danger was ever present in a seemingly unavoidable way. Yet, for some reason, these concerns didn’t consume him as they might have in the past.

He was more focused on doing what he could to protect and support his family. He already had one too many enemies in a world he barely interacted in. Xu Feng spent most of his time in this new world in Nanshan Estate.

His union was sort of a secret thing. He was expected to not even be seen, and of course not heard, only a carrier for a child to elevate Xuan Yang’s family and possibly become a life extender for the elders of the family.

Instead, Xu Feng found solace in the simple joys of life within the Blooming Courtyard. His focus shifted towards nurturing the plants that surrounded him, from the lush greenery in the courtyard to the more exotic specimens thriving in his greenhouse.

He dedicated himself to stockpiling plants with the highest efficiency and rarest attributes, some of which were believed to be extinct or exceedingly rare in Dongzhou. These treasures held the potential to benefit his family in ways he couldn’t yet imagine.

They needed resources to nurture demon beasts and cultivators alike, and the best way to get them was through luck, trade, and purchasing them. They needed gold that wasn’t tied to the Xuan family to fulfill the last two options.

Even the more common plants that were notoriously challenging to cultivate received special attention in Xu Feng’s greenhouse. His green thumb and wood abilities worked diligently, coaxing these plants to flourish and thrive under his care.

Spending time amongst the greenery seemed to boost his energy and elevate his mood, providing a sense of tranquility that was increasingly precious. Using his abilities was even smoother than when he returned from Dongmen.

His cultivation had likely propelled him by leaps and bounds, but Xu Feng’s focus was on gathering resources. He would have time to work on his cultivation after the children were born. He would have to get through his time in confinement, and could use the time in a beneficial way.

From time to time, Xu Feng couldn’t resist waddling over to the cellar, where he sorted through seeds and finished products, many of which he had manufactured alongside Xu Hu Zhe, his diligent helper.

Xu Hu Zhe never seemed to question his desire to produce teas, and dried goods. He was focused on making sure Xu Feng didn’t do too much hard labor on his own. The scales under his left eye were somehow charming.

Xu Feng was spending too much time with scaly boys; he thought it was cute! It was cute though...snakes were growing on him like his plants.

Together, they produced teas with high potencies tailored to those of immortal bloodlines and any potential human cultivators in Donghua.

In the middle of his gardening and herbal pursuits, Xu Feng made it a point to pop in on his husbands occasionally. Both Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang had become absorbed in their own activities, keeping busy with tasks that remained shrouded in mystery to him.

But each visit was an opportunity for Xu Feng to share a smile, a laugh, or a tender moment with them, his growing belly serving as a constant reminder of the journey they were now on together.

Allowing Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang to take the reins in handling matters beyond the Nanshan Estate felt like the right decision for Xu Feng. There was a sense of trust and confidence in their abilities that he had never questioned, and now he leaned into it wholeheartedly.

During the next month, he resolved to make the most of his own unique abilities and the modern knowledge he possessed. His focus shifted towards tasks that had always intrigued him but had often been overshadowed by external concerns.

With Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang shouldering the responsibilities that extended beyond their estate’s boundaries, Xu Feng could devote his attention to matters within its walls. His role was clear.

Under his guidance, Xu San’s role as the official steward of the estate became even more pronounced. Her adept management skills extended to overseeing both people and resources, ensuring that everything within the estate ran smoothly and efficiently.

Meanwhile, Xu Si continued to prove her skill as a valuable asset, using her keen observational talent to act as a reliable informant and guardian of the estate’s affairs. Together with Xu San, they formed a formidable team, ensuring that everyone within the Nanshan Estate was fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. All while Xu Feng was locked down in Blooming Courtyard.
