Chapter 302: No Belly Rubbing Rights

Chapter 302: No Belly Rubbing Rights

Xu Feng lay sprawled on his new mattress, his fingers idly tracing the lumpy contours beneath him. It might not have been as grand as the king sized bed in the main bedroom, but the lumps were oddly comforting, and he found himself reveling in the newfound coziness.

He almost glossed over the crucial information regarding the Dong family ancestor, after mistakenly believing him to be the Xuan family ancestor. Thoughts swirled in Xu Feng’s mind like a whirlwind. He wanted to return to the forest and chat with the Dong Ancestor again.

Was he truly a snake descendant, as Xu Feng had suspected? Did his joke about serving him a snake as a snake beast even make sense anymore? Was he a human cultivator and if so, how powerful was he? How could he assist Xu Feng in his cultivation as a fox demon?

The laundry list of questions nagged at him, yet in the embrace of his lumpy mattress, Xuan Jian’s sweet, comforting scent of sandalwood and fresh mountain air was intoxication. He was content.

If he didn’t look down, the fact that his belly had swelled up considerably in size, could be maybe ignored. It wasn’t like he felt too much discomfort. He was waddling in the forest, but that was because...well his stomach was quite large and he wasn’t used to it yet.

Was this how most gers would feel at this stage in pregnancy? His pregnancy seemed to speed by because of his cultivation, but he also felt energized...

It was like he could almost feel the concentration of energy in the air, and both his lumpy mattress—Xuan Jian—and Xuan Yang had a large concentration of energy on their bodies.

He expected the same for Jie and Bo, but that wasn’t the case. After Xuan Jian, Xu Hu Zhe had the highest concentration of energy on his body, his time in the Dong Ancestor’s space wasn’t useless.

He seemed to be more gifted than the actual young master of the Xuan family. Was he an orphan from the Xuan family? Or possibly another snake clan?

Xu Feng couldn’t remember if Xu Hu Zhe’s face had been this way after they left the space, all his attention had been on his rising stomach. Now, the black patch of scales under his left eye was hard to ignore.

The silent Xu Hu Zhe was now forced to stay within the Blooming Courtyard like Xu Feng. They were both under house arrest, at least until Xu Hu Zhe could possibly retract his scales, or a mask was purchased for the left side of his face.

The scales were too conspicuous.

Warmth enveloped Xu Feng, and he couldn’t help but laugh at the slightly puzzled and slightly annoyed expression on Xuan Yang’s face. There was now an unspoken rule: no touching the soft belly. The "belly gang" had spoken, and any attempts to do otherwise were met with a stern glare or a swipe of the hand.

It wasn’t just Xu Feng, Xuan Jian was playing along and helping him guard his stomach from Xuan Yang! This was a fun game.

After sending a peck to Xuan Jian’s cheek after he masterfully deflected Xuan Yang’s hands, he turned his gaze to Xuan Yang, the man who had, in cahoots with Lady Xuan, seemingly conspired to deceive him about the Nanshan Estate.

Of course, this was related to their contract which they already decided to terminate, but it still irked him. Xu Feng was only on a small revenge path.

Xuan Yang played along, recognizing that Xu Feng wasn’t truly upset but merely yearned for a bit of pampering. Their interactions of this nature were rare, but something about Xu Feng’s desire to be spoiled stirred something within Xuan Yang.

He couldn’t bear the thought of some ghost spoiling his lover more than he did. And it seemed like the ghost had done just that—Xu Feng was glowing, he looked healthier and more vibrant than ever.

Pregnancy was a hard thing on a ger’s body. It was often a hard six month period, followed by months of tiring recovery. Even the month long confinement for a wealthy household that doted on a ger, wouldn’t bring a ger back to their previous health.

For a farm family, it was even worse. This was why many gers only had one or two children. It became harder and harder to conceive, and they became prone to sickness.

Although they were the perfect vessel for carrying immortal blood-rich children, it was expensive to nurture a ger after pregnancy or guarantee a second or third child.

Xu Feng on the other hand positively glowed with life and vitality, his once dull countenance now radiating health and vigor. His silver hair shimmered under the soft room lighting, framing his face like a celestial halo.

His eyes danced with mirth, sparkling mischievously as he prepared to tease Xuan Yang.

In that moment, he appeared more vibrant and energetic than he had when they first met. The transformation was remarkable, the ghost had nurtured him well both this time and the previous time spent in his space.

With a playful glint in his eye, he couldn’t resist the temptation to tease Xuan Yang, it was plain to see his intentions.

Leaning in closer, Xuan Yang pressed a gentle, tender kiss on the cheek of the mischievous ger. It prompted Xu Feng to break into delighted giggles, filling the room with an atmosphere of lightness and affection.

Xuan Yang leaned in closer to Xu Feng, his lips capturing Xu Feng’s in a deeper, more passionate kiss. Their mouths melded together, tongues dancing in an intense tango. Xu Feng felt his breath catch as their kiss intensified, his hazy eyes locking onto Xuan Yang’s.

As their lips parted, Xu Feng’s chest heaved, his belly rising and falling rapidly. The sensation of Xuan Yang’s warm hands joined Xuan Jian’s, rubbing soothing circles on his belly only added to the intoxicating mix of love that swirled between them.

Xu Feng was left breathless, a pleasant haze washing over him.
