Chapter 180: A Pampered Little Fox

Before the small scare he got from the taller man, Xu Feng was pondering the accuracy of Xuan Yang’s last accusation. Maybe 5’10" wasn’t considered short or little, but compared to the growth spurt of the other man, there was at least 6" between them.

To be fair, he was small to Xuan Yang.

Most people were small to Xuan Yang.

But none of that mattered when Xuan Yang seemingly disappeared right in front of his eyes. Normally his reaction wouldn’t have been so big, but Xu Feng was just thinking, no hoping, that Xuan Yang would disappear completely.

When he looked up and the other man had really disappeared, a wave of regret washed over him.

Xu Feng could still hear his heart beating in his chest, the sound reverberating in his head. He wasn’t okay.

If Xuan Yang really disappeared, Xu Feng could never forgive himself.

He loved him.

He, Xu Feng, loved him, Xuan Yang.

He wouldn’t admit it out loud. He wasn’t strong enough for that yet, but he was in love with this snake. He already knew about (and was denying) his love for Xuan Jian, but he hadn’t realized he loved both men.

He loved Xuan Yang, and in a moment of frustration, he didn’t wish him well. He was willing to let the darker feelings within him cover up the softer ones, the ones that made him vulnerable.

Even if Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian would one day leave him, he didn’t want to turn into someone he wasn’t. Harden his heart in an attempt to keep it safe. It wasn’t worth it, if he would cause others harm, it wasn’t worth it.

He could tease the men, but he would try to enjoy the time they had together. This wasn’t a new conclusion, he told himself this more than once, but the ugly emotions of jealousy and envy would cloud his emotions.

Instead of being upset when the men disagreed with him, he should attempt to compromise, but being independent was important too. He shouldn’t depend on them for everything. That would only make their separation more painful in the future. Till then he needed to cherish this time and become more independent.

By the time the words came out of his mouth, Xu Feng had already come to a conclusion for how he wanted to move forward with his lovers.

"You scared me," He wanted to be more vulnerable in some ways, but he needed to be independent as well.

"I know."

"Slippery snake," Being independent didn’t mean he couldn’t be close to them. He didn’t need to change his playful ways.

"I know."

With the acknowledgment, Xu Feng didn’t have anything else to say, and he was getting tired of looking up at the tall man. His neck felt the strain and his heart was still palpitating from the shock.

"I’m sorry."

But Xu Feng wasn’t expecting an apology. Not from Xuan Yang, maybe Xuan Jian. But there was a crisp and clear apology delivered to his door, when he already decided to move on cleanly without holding the grudge.

Xu Feng had nothing to say, his brain was working in overdrive trying to process the new situation. ’How did we get here?’

Xuan Yang’s lips curled up in a gentle smile. His face opening up and brightening. It was a look Xu Feng had often seen bestowed on Xuan Jian.

The relationship between him and Xuan Yang and the one between Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian was different. They were all lovers, but their interactions between each couple was different.

This was the first time such an unguarded look was sent Xu Feng’s way. It was like Xuan Yang had bared his whole heart at that moment.

"I’m sorry," He said again still peering into Xu Feng’s eyes earnestly.

"For scaring me?"

"No."

"For calling me little?"

"No," The smile in Xuan Yang’s eyes was back. It was a double blow, openness, and too much attractiveness. A combo the ger wasn’t ready for. Overload.

"I really am a pampered ger," Xu Feng muttered, his brows furrowed, clearly not understanding the situation he was now in.

Xuan Yang’s smile reappeared on his face, handsome and genuine. Xu Feng felt his knees going weak and his heart threatening to deafen him.

"I promise to pamper you to the best of my abilities."

"..."

Xu Feng stood staring at the other man, mouth ajar, as if he was ready to catch some flies for sport.

But his brain was still churning as he looked into the deep onyx eyes above him. The passion within them could be felt without any effort.

The taller man reached down slowly. Xu Feng felt like he was in romantic comedy and the prince charming was leaning in for a kiss. His heart fluttered and did summersaults in turns.

Naturally, he closed his eyes and leaned up, puckering his lips for the incoming kiss. Who doesn’t like kisses?

But the kiss never landed.

His lips remained empty.

But a feather light touch was felt against his right eye, and a moment later the same touch was felt against his left eye.

The soft touch sent shivers down Xu Feng’s spine.

The legs that threatened to give way a moment ago finally did the thing. But a strong hand was placed around his waist. With no visible effort, Xu Feng’s entire weight was borne by the man in front of him.

With his eyes opened again, Xu Feng’s face was flushed red. The position was weird, the kisses were sugar sweet, and he was also a bit embarrassed—his lips were still puckered waiting for a kiss that never came.

Xuan Yang, even in the moment of intimacy, the moment where their relationship passed on to a new stage, a break through moment, was still Xuan Yang.

The snake grinned mischievously at the puckered lips of the ger from above. Xu Feng almost wanted to poke the other man’s eyes out. A snake was a snake, was a snake, was a snake.

He was a fiend!

Even Xu Feng knew this was a fiend!

Then their lips met, and everything was beyond the point. It was light, airy and exactly what Xu Feng needed. It was a kiss to solidify all the new and old feelings, yet it was just a kiss all the same.

Xu Feng stared up at the handsome young master above him, and couldn’t help but ask. "Have you ever apologized to Jian?"

Xuan Yang didn’t even blink, not wanting to spend time arguing with the pampered fox. "Occasionally."

"Only 3 times, in over 8 years," Jian answered more truthfully.
