The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL] -
Chapter 179: A Pampered Fox
Chapter 179: A Pampered Fox
The attractive silver haired ger glided across the space as though it were his personal stage, his every movement a graceful choreography drawn from the essence of grace and elegance.
Xu Feng seemed to embody an otherworldly presence, his aura vibrant and mysterious, filling the greenhouse with an aura that matched the strange blooms.
Even during the harshness of winter, this mysterious ger had somehow transformed the space into a haven of vibrant greenery and life, defying all logical explanations. As spring unfurled its petals, painting the world outside in lush hues, the greenhouse stood apart, boasting an even more extraordinary liveliness.
Xuan Yang observed Xu Feng’s enchanting presence, moving with an ethereal quality that seemed to disregard the interloper’s presence from start to finish. However, despite the mesmerizing display, Xuan Yang couldn’t dismiss the eerie feelings stirring within him.
The extraordinary nature of Xu Feng’s character, his lineage seemed to be brimming with immortal blood, and the striking stamp of his silver hair hinted at an untold tale.
The narrative of Xu Feng’s dad returning to a secluded village and marrying a farmer appeared strange in any light, a mystery veiled beneath layers of questions.
The entirety of the greenhouse seemed to echo Xu Feng’s hidden truth, shedding a flashlight to his secrets, but nothing could be seen clearly. Yet, the mysterious ger showed no signs of concealing these secrets, allowing the presence of Xuan Yang, Jian, and his close servant, Xu Hu Zhe, within the abnormal sanctuary decked with even more odd and enchanting blooms.
Xuan Yang squinted, his gaze fixed intently on the enticing figure before him, as if hoping to unravel the mysteries veiled beneath Xu Feng’s ethereal appearance. His narrowed eyes like a snake watching its prey.
After a moment of fruitless inspection and a furrowed brow, Xuan Yang conceded defeat. He lacked the finesse or skill to unearth the hidden truths with a simple gaze. Instead, he found himself possessing a skill for falling for troublemakers who had one too many secrets.
Jian and Feng, a fox and a snake, each concealing their own puzzles, each more confusing than the other.
"Are you going to keep staring..." As if catching himself, the ger grew silent once again, and continued to frolic about and admire his blooms and blossoms.
Grinning to himself, Xuan Yang found the ger amusingly troublesome.
The greenhouse had exceeded its humble origins from January. It now flourished more vividly than the lush spring landscape beyond its walls. And as for Xu Feng, his transformation was undeniable. Not only in appearance, but his essence exuded a light radiance that seemed to exceed his normal beauty.
It was this transformation that had led both Xuan Yang and Jian to entertain the idea that the ger might be expecting a child. His rounded appearance and a radiant glow were similar of the accounts of expecting women or gers, and reinforced their belief.
Now, however, Xuan Yang found himself regretting jumping to such a conclusion without any substantial evidence.
Xu Feng’s demeanor towards Xuan Yang was evident—clearly upset yet not entirely disregarding him. This silent treatment was far worse than outright ignoring someone or having a lover openly display their discontent and unhappiness.
An underlying current of suppressed anger came from the usually relaxed ger, a disturbing shift that Xuan Yang found unsettling.
Xu Feng had always maintained a certain level of restraint. Despite his whimsical and open front, his actions and reactions were unlike anyone else Xuan Yang had encountered. Ever.
However, an unbreakable barrier endured between them.
Now, that invisible barrier had become denser. Xu Feng seemed more withdrawn, deliberately distancing himself emotionally.
The ger sought comfort in the sanctuary of his space, the greenhouse should have been providing a calming refuge.
Xu Feng appeared deeply engrossed in tending to his plants. Yet, Xuan Yang couldn’t help but notice the covert glances occasionally directed his way.
"What a finicky fox," Xuan Yang muttered under his breath, watching Xu Feng’s brows twitch in response. Despite his seemingly composed manner, the tension in the air was palpable, as if the plants themselves would protest if given a voice.
"What a pampered fox."
"Pampered my ass," Came a barely audible voice. Hands still moving, Xu Feng tending to his plants.
"Such a spoilt little fox."
"I’m not little."
Both men froze for a minute at the last rebuttal. Even Xu Feng seemed a bit confused. Was that really the thing to argue about, shouldn’t he defend his honor as a well behaved fox of humble beginnings?
He wasn’t finicky. (Maybe).
He wasn’t pampered. (Until recently).
He wasn’t spoilt. (Possibly).
Of all the things he should raise his voice against, being little was the least of his problems. The persistent snake young master was his biggest trouble.
It had already been four days since their argument, and three days since Doctor Ping’s visit. He was clearly nursing a grudge against the two men who didn’t respect his opinions, or see him as a true lover, someone other than a baby making tool.
Both men had been trying to get closer to him in the last few days. After dealing with the stripping scandal, Xu Feng was still ashamed of his "love bites" being exposed, even the more reserved Xuan Yang would trail him for a good part of the day.
Xu Feng glanced up again, ready to throw daggers with his eyes at the one responsible for his "love bites." Completely forgetting no one asked him to strip in public.
But there was no one in sight.
The snake had wiggled away.
Xu Feng looked from side to side a bit frantically, like he was the protagonist in a horror movie.
"Yang?" He questioned tentatively, worry laced in his voice.
This was the first time the Xu Feng had called Xuan Yang so informally. "I’m here," replied a voice filled with emotion. Emotion not frequently put on display.
Xu Feng turned around to find the tall man towered over him, with all the previous playfulness drained from his eyes.
"You scared me," Xu Feng answered in a small voice.
"I know."
"Slippery snake."
"I know."
With the acknowledgment, Xu Feng didn’t have anything else to say, and he was getting tired of looking up at the tall man.
"I’m sorry."
