Even after all the exposure to Xu Feng’s "Manly" or "Ugly" charms, the boy...young man still blushed.

Xu Feng wanted to laugh aloud, but to give Erlang some face, he simply turned to the side and coughed lightly before verbalizing his earlier thoughts.

"How do you feel about the name Erlang? Are you attached to it?"

Erlang raised a brow before responding smartly, "No, the master is in charge of my life, a name is nothing to this servant."

Very smart response.

Xu Feng rolled his eyes at the big boy, he sounded like some kind of night in shining armor. Cute. Overkill, but cute. "I will make an announcement to the household and change your name to..."

Xu Feng looked up as if he could come up with a magnificent name out of thin air, "I haven’t thought of a good name yet, but I want to give you a name you can be proud of. [One with meaning and thought]."

Xu Feng continued to bite his lips racking his brain to come up with a name that fit Erlang’s recent developments. Erlang wasn’t doing him justice.

"If the master would consider it, this one would like to suggest the name Hu Zhe..." with that single request, the shyness from their first few encounters returned to Erlang, and his face flushed a deeper shade of red. His eyes actively avoiding Xu Feng.

Xu Feng bit the word, "Hu Zhe..." The name meant protector or confidant; it was a stronger name than his own. It fit the young man in front of him. Erlang truly had invested in studying during this short period of time, and it was clear he had been thinking of new names for himself.

"Xu Hu Zhe. Good name." Xu Feng replied pretentiously.

Erlang, no Xu Hu Zhe looked up [really down] at his master with shock, fear, and excitement all wrapped into one. In a split second, Xu Hu Zhe fell to his knees as he worshipped his master, his voice thick with unshed tears.

Even after so much pleading, Xu Hu Zhe wouldn’t rise from the ground so Xu Feng finally gave up. Instead to keep the other man from crying, he told Xu Hu Zhe what he came looking for him the first place.

As for the name change, Si and San would also have slight name changes, they would get his Xu surname, they were already proving their loyalty to him over and over again. He would officially make the change when he was in Yilin next, and a small announcement would be made in the estate.

This was a small gift for a modern man. A slightly selfish gift too. Modern people could have chosen family, and Xu Feng was clearly trying to elevate his chosen family, one step at a time.

For the ancients though, it was gift not given lightly. Xu Feng would likely never know how much these name changes would affect the three servants gifted a surname, the surname of their master.

What exactly did Xu Feng look for Xu Hu Zhe for?

It wasn’t for a casual conversation, or even to make the other person blush and cry all in one conversation [although that did happen].

The purpose of Xu Feng making the journey around the Nanshan estate, other than to clear his head and find reasons to be grateful to ground himself, was for conspiracy!

For any great conspiracy, a coconspirator was an added benefit. For Xu Feng, he especially needed to even the odds.

While not planned, the idea of having another person of immortal bloodline on his side, a person who wasn’t a ger, was a really good plan.

Even if Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian were the ’Main Character’ and ’Main Lead’ of their story, Xu Hu Zhe was like a secret boss level character, or another ’Main Character’ set in the same setting, but with an alternate storyline.

Just looking at the young man’s transformation was awe inspiring.

Plus, he clearly had a soft spot for Xu Feng, they were actually partners in crime. There was a power imbalance in their relationship (Xu Feng and Xu Hu Zhe), yet the gap in the relationship didn’t seem as big an imbalance compared to the hidden one between Xu Feng, Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang...

Back to the conspiracy.

Xu Feng was going up at least one of the Nanshan mountains, but he wasn’t stupid enough to do it alone. This is where his coconspirator came in.

He had bent to Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian’s demands, not to get them to go up the mountains with him. For some reason, [a snakey reason perhaps?], Xu Feng wasn’t confident the two snakes would keep their word.

Even after the perceived compromise, the snakes couldn’t be fully trusted in this situation.

So why had Xu Feng even agreed to see a doctor? He wanted to know if he really was pregnant. Short and simple.

Pregnancy could be his excuse for his emotional reactions to Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang. But, he wasn’t pregnant.

So now, he was going to go up the mountain regardless of anyone’s opinion. But, he wasn’t in too much of a hurry. He would make as many preparations as possible. And then as soon as a certain fox friend made a visit, he would head up the mountain with Erlang.

He absolutely wasn’t a cranky or petulant child. Absolutely not.

When relaying his plan to Xu Hu Zhe, Xu Feng didn’t even sugar coat his intentions in the slightest, and the coconspirator didn’t flinch either. He didn’t know the full story, but knew full well his master was stubborn.

Hearing they were "going up the mountain with or without the annoying snakes," he kept a straight face, no confusion in sight.

The three masters were clearly not in harmony, but that wasn’t Xu Hu Zhe’s concern. He addressed Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian as masters only because Xu Feng requested it from his servants. As far as Xu Hu Zhe was concerned, he only had one master.

The master was strange to some, was mischievous, and had very prodigal spending habits, but that master was one he was determined to serve for all of his life.

And that master had just given him a new name and a family name. He was now the Xu protector.
