Chapter 147: Nanshan, I’m On My Way!
[Flashback]

"Even if there is a magical inheritance, I just want neither of the families to get it," Bai Mo declared with fire in his eyes. "I’m going to support you all the way."

"I’ll try my best to make the incident at the exam today disappear," Bai Mo added.
The face he presented outside was different from the one they shared in private. Xu Feng knew the boy wasn’t as straight laced and well mannered as he seemed.
There was a reason Bai Mo maintained his autonomy despite the corrupt servants and greedy relatives that swarmed around him after his father’s death.
The Bai Mo the world knew was only a façade, the real boy had always been a cunning fox in human clothing. Fortunately, this cunning fox was on Xu Feng’s side.
"You must be more modest in the future, no matter the circumstance; a ger’s honor is..." Xu Feng grinned widely as he listened to Bai Mo’s nagging.
Though Bai Mo had a secret badass personality, his nagging and upright self were not a complete lie. Xu Feng appreciated his badgering, smart, and loyal friend. Sharing his plants with Bai Mo was a decision he didn’t regret.

With this memory in mind, Xu Feng’s laughter filled the moving carriage. His dimples appeared as he chuckled, the deep laughter echoing through the space.
His silver hair shimmered under the sunlight filtering through the windows, his laughter loud and joyous. He still felt nervous about Bai Mo’s trip to Jinghua, but the memory brought a sense of ease.
The Bai Master of Yilin was proving to be more capable with each passing day.
Yet, even if Xu Feng wished to go with the other boy to Jinghua, what guarantee was there that his two husbands would agree? They didn’t seem particularly eager to meet with the Xuan family, not even after a winter’s break.
They hadn’t gone back for New Year’s either, just like Xuan Yang had stated. They received a message from the main house, but Xuan Yang had sent the unopened letter back to the Xuan’s in Jinghua.
"Is Master Feng well?" echoed a booming voice from outside the carriage.
This was one of the new servants from Beyin, who arrived to escort Xu Feng back to the Nanshan Estate.
While he couldn’t accompany Bai Mo to Jinghua on this trip, Xu Feng held a desire to visit the capital or any developed places in Donghua whenever possible.
The abundant jackpot of peculiar seeds found in Yilin hinted that such seeds weren’t unusually rare. The real challenge lay in germinating and cultivating these plants, a task that didn’t pose a problem for Xu Feng.
His wood ability appeared as the ideal superpower, helping him to live well in Donghua. All he needed was to convince his two husbands to take him on more adventures, satisfying his spirit of adventure!
Xuan Jian hadn’t even taken him up the mountain yet. He wondered what excuses the men would come up with now.
The carriage jostled along, slightly slowing its pace as the servant waited for Xu Feng’s response.
"I’m well!" replied the silver haired ger crisply. In no time, the carriage surged forward once more, regaining it’s lost momentum.
The jostling of the carriage seemed to enhance Xu Feng’s laughter, resonating in the confined space. His dimples appeared as deep as small craters, forming on either side of his mouth, revealing their subtle grace as they danced with his mirth. His silver hair swayed with the rhythmic movement of the carriage, glinting under the sunlight that filtered through the windows.
Unfortunately, Xu Feng’s wood abilities didn’t grant him undercover or camouflaging powers. His thoughts briefly flitted back to Sun Ming Hua’s perceptive face and his penetrating words.
The younger boy had seen through his previous disguise too easily, which proved rather annoying. Xu Feng had gone through the trouble of getting hair dye and meticulously coloring his long silver hair.
At first, he hadn’t minded having long hair, but he was starting to reconsider.
He almost wished the pampered ger would find something more appealing to occupy his time. Whether Xu Feng wanted to masquerade as a Disn*y Princess was his own problem and was nobody else’s business!
Preferring not to dwell on the exam or the trouble causing boy, Xu Feng attempted to clear his mind. But, the art of not thinking wasn’t his strong suit, and he found himself rolling his eyes in frustration.
He wanted an offensive ability badly. But maybe it was for the best he didn’t have one; he’d quickly become public enemy number one.
Yet, that was alright. He had another secret weapon: his strong judge of character. Though it could only work in certain situations, his instincts never failed him. Whenever his spidey senses tingled, it served as a warning of impending danger or not so great situations.
At the start of winter, right after they had welcomed the new servants, he sensed something off about a few of them. His suspicions were confirmed when all five people he suspected turned out to be untrustworthy.
Three servants, two gers and a man, were caught attempting to sneak into the masters’ chambers. One ger tried to slip into Xuan Jian’s bed, while the other two aimed for Xuan Yang’s.
Xu Feng couldn’t help but wonder if Xuan Yang’s reputation was so wide spread that even male slaves would attempt to climb into his bed uninvited. Although, to be fair, the man who targeted Xuan Yang was quite androgynous and attractive in his opinion.
Xu Feng found it challenging to blame either the gers or the man. Such incidents were commonplace; masters often took concubines, and servants sometimes served their masters in this way. What irked him was that he’d explicitly discussed these boundaries before officially welcoming the new servants into the household.
Some people seemed hard of hearing. They must have thought Xu Feng wasn’t up for the competition...
The thought brought a smirk to Xu Feng’s face, lifting his spirits, and laughter bubbled out more freely as they continued their journey home.
