Chapter 145: Winter’s Awakening

As Xu Feng studied his transformed appearance in the mirror of the Bai mansion, he couldn’t help but marvel at the changes that had taken root within him over the past three months.

The reflection staring back at him showcased a newfound fullness, a departure from his former slender frame. He had gained even more weight, possibly a bit more than he intended, but it brought a sense of vitality and maturity that he wore with an air of confidence.

His determination to embrace martial arts training with the stubborn Xuan Jian stemmed from this new transformation. He wanted to shed the excess plumpness, replacing it with strength and agility.

It was better to be prepared than to sit around like a completely salted fish.

His face revealed the complete evolution he had undergone. The once more delicate features had matured, accentuated by pronounced lines and angles that highlighted his newfound allure. A well defined jawline added a touch of strength to his expression.

But it was his skin that possibly held the most amazing change. A radiant glow came from within, as though an inner flame had been ignited, casting a luminosity that seemed to dance across his complexion.

His eyes, luminous and perceptive, held an inborn magnetism, drawing others in with their bright intelligence.

The most eye catching transformation, however, were in his lips and the depth of color sprinkled on his face. Once soft and gentle, they now bore a deeper hue, a shade bordering on a rich, crimson red that harmonized with the distinct mole gracing his forehead.

The intense color added to his allure, a subtle statement that caught the eye and held its gaze. This was why disguises and become one of his biggest investments.

Xu Feng observed his features, admiring the straight nose that complemented his striking silver hair, now even more captivating than before.

Initially, he brushed off the changes as a figment of his imagination. He was already considered attractive, and the idea of a certain inner radiance accompanying intimacy wasn’t lost on him.

His winter wasn’t chaste despite Xuan Jian promising he and Xuan Yang would give Xu Feng’s body time to heal.

Running a finger through his dampened silver locks, Xu Feng was taken aback by their smoothness. Despite their longer length and the lack of meticulous care, his fingers glided effortlessly through the strands, similar to butter.

It was smooth like the finest silk.

His appearance had undergone a series of transformations in the past three months, rendering him undeniably more appealing. It wasn’t a complete transformation but rather an enhancement—a refined version of himself, pampered and polished.

Gazing at his reflection in the mirror, Xu Feng felt as though he could have lived in the esthetician’s office or even in a modern day spa for 100 years. It was like he had dedicated himself solely to 21st century skincare and hair care.

This upgraded balance between femininity and masculinity prompted him to consider yet another disguise.

Partially, of course.

It was obvious the silver haired ger liked playing around with disguises. The self proclaimed lazy man actually enjoyed doing lots of things.

If a certain ger from the Sun family could see Xu Feng now...

"Master Feng," a servant’s voice interrupted from beyond the room, "Snacks have been set in Master Bai’s inner entertainment room."

Nodding to himself, Xu Feng responded, momentarily forgetting the servant’s inability to see him. "I’ll join shortly."

As he glanced once more at his altered appearance, he mused on the dual nature of his wood abilities—a blessing and a curse.

Throughout the winter, he had dedicated time not only to nurturing his plants and his wood ability, but also to nurturing his mind and fostering relationships with the two men in his life.

The two men were officially, unofficial, yet still very official.

Xu Feng plunged into various studies, not just limited to the Xuicai exam materials, but also extending to knowledge about the land of Dongzhou, plants, animals, history, and beyond.

In the middle of all his interests, whenever he managed to steal moments away from his husbands, he dedicated significant time to tending to his cultivated plants.

Among them was the Dragon Chrysanthemum, cultivated from a special seed procured from the Yilin seed shop. His claim to Xuan Jian’s find in the mountains was not untrue, but the wild variant paled in comparison to his special collection.

Despite their rarity and uniqueness, Xu Feng didn’t hesitate to share these extraordinary plants with Bai Mo. The other boy had proven to be a solid friend, just like during today’s exam, he had Xu Feng’s back.

This bond they had formed prompted Xu Feng to become closer with his new friend, inviting Bai Mo over often and even preparing Dragon Chrysanthemum tea for him.

His food, whether he used items from his garden’s regular produce or these special seeds, seemed filled with a certain energy.

And Xu Feng guessed it was the energy that improved not only his looks and all those in Nanshan estate’s beauty it also improved the physical fitness of the newly purchased servants.

This was why even Bai Mo’s previously dull brown eyes and brown hair had begun to glow with an inner light. This glow was similar to the one he had as a child, when his parents believed he could revitalize the Bai family of Yilin’s bloodline.

Xu Feng’s crops had undeniable beautifying and blood strengthening qualities.

As Xu Feng made his way from the guest room in Bai Mo’s personal quarters, he nodded at the servant who had come to fetch him.

The woman’s blush was so deep and obvious, that Xu Feng could only smile lightly in return.

It wasn’t that the woman was trying anything with him, Bai Mo’s people were all faithful as far as they could tell. Like Xu Feng, Bai Mo only had the necessary and loyal servants.

When his dad died, soon followed by his father, many of the greedy servants showed their true colors wanting to ride on the young master’s head.

Unfortunately for them, Bai Mo, while occasionally lacking in confidence, was raised well by his parents.

He wasn’t just book smart, he was also wise...maybe even a little cunning.
