Chapter 114: A Real Young Miss Pt.3

The delicately dressed yet venomous little ger, who had been glaring maliciously at Xu Feng earlier, now turned his gaze to the new ger with an expression of sheer delight.

He was petite and clearly pampered, enjoying the dramatic turn of events if attention wasn’t promptly directed towards him. Xu Feng didn’t know what his purpose was today (other than retrieving items from the bookstore), but he most likely came with a purpose and Xu Feng’s presence disrupted it.

The entire bookstore’s bystanders had gathered to watch the unfolding scene with spellbound focus. Although they were clearly aware of the group of hooligans, no, young masters, picking on Xu Feng and the new ger who came to his aid, they preferred not to get involved in anything negative or complicated.

Instead, they watched covertly from a distance.

With only two servants accompanying him, the brave ger had taken it upon himself to come to Xu Feng’s rescue. Despite being outnumbered, he wore a resolute expression, determined to uphold justice.

Xu Feng, feeling the entire situation unravel in slow motion, observed the array of emotions displayed by the people involved. He couldn’t help but notice the pained look on ’Brother Ming,’ the other man from the first group who appeared visibly distressed and shocked by the new ger’s unexpected appearance.

The confrontation continued with Kang Han’s hostility unyielding, and the response from his entourage was equally disrespectful and dismissive of the new ger.

"You, daring to interfere with us, when you’re nothing but a jinx. A harbinger of death!" Kang Han spat out, his voice dripping with disdain.

Undiscouraged, the new ger, who had come to Xu Feng’s aid, responded firmly, "Your behavior deserves to be condemned, speaking to married ger so disrespectfully in public. No matter who your father is, you should have a scholar’s decency."

Kang Han’s entourage whispered amongst themselves, feeling torn between supporting their young master and recognizing that his actions might be perceived as inappropriate. A scholar’s honor was everything.

Even with their backgrounds, some things couldn’t be said out loud, and questioning their moral character in public for aspiring scholars was akin to social and political death.

Kang Han’s clenched fist and gritted teeth were clear signs of his growing rage. The situation was spiraling out of his control, and he was becoming increasingly agitated. Seeing this, MingHua, the oh so delicate ger, made a quick decision. Although he had been enjoying the verbal lashing that Xu Feng and the other ger had endured...

As the confrontation continued, MingHua took the opportunity to intervene. He approached Kang Han with a more composed demeanor, recognizing the need for damage control.

"Brother Kang, it would be best if we put an end to this unnecessary squabble," MingHua suggested calmly. "We should not allow these unworthy ones to tarnish our image with their provocations."

Kang Han’s entourage found themselves agreeing with MingHua’s advice. They saw the wisdom in diffusing the situation, and it offered them a chance to take the moral high ground. In their retelling of events, they conveniently omitted the provocations that had come from their side.

They took this chance and began to appease Kang Han while also stroking the boy’s ego and turning water into wine. The story was changed from black to white in front of Xu Feng and the other ger, and neither reacted strongly, just observing the idiots opposite them.

As the group of young masters continued to twist the narrative and present themselves as victims in this exchange with ’the jinx’ and the ’seductive ger,’ Xu Feng couldn’t help but find the situation rather amusing in a perverse way.

Their selective memory conveniently overlooked the fact that they had been the ones to initiate the confrontation and needlessly escalate the situation.

Xu Feng watched the unfolding drama with a mixture of disgust and humor. He was still prepared for any potential developments, and the absurdity of the situation wasn’t lost on him.

Meanwhile, he couldn’t help but notice the distant expression on ’Brother Ming’s’ face as he seemed to be lost in thought while gazing at the new ger who had intervened on Xu Feng’s behalf.

When the group continued to slander Xu Feng, Erlang reached a breaking point, and his voice finally joined the ongoing conversation. "Don’t speak about my Master in such a disgusting way," he asserted firmly.

He wasn’t much of a talker, and had been quiet during his stay at Nanshan estate, but these young masters were going too far. Their insults were too much.

"A scholar should uphold refined speech and avoid casting suspicions," added the other ger in an educational tone, as if he were teaching children, indicating that he was well aware of the group’s tendency for vulgar language, which did not fit true scholars.

Erlang’s intervention caused the group of young masters to fall silent once more, their brave act subdued momentarily. Among them, MingHua appeared to be the most infuriated, as his efforts to incite a conflict had been destroyed.

As the petite and spiteful MingHua prepared to speak again, his mouth opening with evident venom, his relative abruptly silenced him, much to the surprise of the onlookers. "Be silent!"

Brother Ming’s intervention caught the attention of his companions, including Kang Han, who were taken aback by his unusual assertiveness. It was apparent that Brother Ming typically indulged the delicate ger.

Caught off guard, MingHua’s face flushed with embarrassment. This was a situation he had not expected. Being scolded by his own brother in public, especially in front of Kang Han, was a source of great humiliation.

In an attempt to save face, MingHua swiftly regained his composure and adopted an expression of feigned sorrow and astonishment. He dramatically exclaimed, "Brother, you would scold me for the sake of these unfamiliar gers?" He then covered his face with both hands, feigning distress, and made a hasty exit from the store.

Following a brief silence, the group of young masters made a swift exit, chasing after the petite ger. Some of them threw glances of disapproval in Brother Ming’s direction. He frowned briefly, nodding at the other ger and Xu Feng before rushing out of the bookstore to join the commotion.
