Chapter 416: Chapter 416: It Seems You Have a Fear of Marriage_1

Carson could tell that Leah Frost was quite excited.

Maybe it was because of the affection she felt for her mother, or maybe it was because of the surprise thrill of suddenly having a 27-year-old nephew.

"I’ll tell you, I’ve admired your mom since I was a child, especially after I became an adult, my admiration grew even more."

"You know, the Frost Family is considered aristocratic, and daughters from such families usually have little autonomy in marriage. Even if they are granted some freedom, they generally have to follow the match of equal social rank rule. I can still remain unmarried and maintain my freedom today, and I actually have your mom to thank for that."

"When your mom eloped for love back in the day and never returned, she really infuriated your grandparents, but no matter what, with the example set by your mom, they were less strict with me. Plus, I’ve been abroad in recent years, and they were also worried I might pull a stunt like your mom, perhaps marrying someone overseas and never coming back."

Listening to Leah’s words, Carson moved his mouse and browsed through the photos she had saved.

In the photos, Westin Flores looked handsome and dignified, with an air of gentle firmness. Lucy Frost was lovelier than flowers, radiating happiness. As the third wheel, Leah Frost, wearing a dress, clung either to Lucy or Westin, looking adorable and ecstatic.

"Auntie, why haven’t you married yet?"

Leah Frost crossed her legs and laughed, "Haven’t met the right person, you know. Marriage is for life; you can’t rush into it. Besides, with my personality, guys might like to be friends with me or date me, but to take me home as a wife, there are not many takers."

Carson looked at Leah Frost sideways and asked curiously, "You’re quite beautiful, why wouldn’t they want to?"

Leah chuckled, "Would you like to marry someone who acts like an empress at home, and moreover, I can fight. Those guys can’t even win against me, who would dare to marry me? All those men want to play the field. They’re probably afraid they might wake up castrated one night if they married me..."

"Besides, I’m great being single right now, date if I want to, have fun when I feel like it, completely unbound. If I were married and had kids, wouldn’t life become dull and gray?"

Carson couldn’t help but chuckle, "You seem a bit phobic about marriage."

Leah Frost pursed her lips with a smile, "Pretty much. Anyway, I’m the baby of the family. With my older brothers around, it doesn’t really matter whether I get married or not. My grandparents have given up on me and leave me be now."

All of a sudden, Carson’s mouse halted.

On the computer screen was a family portrait: the mother holding an infant, the father squatting beside them, playfully poking at the child with his finger.

The child burst into laughter, the mother smiled gently, the father’s grin was bright and cheerful...

"This is the only family picture your mom sent me after you were born.

Carson felt a surge of emotions, "Could you send it to me?"

"Of course, just copy all the photos. Even though you don’t remember them, they definitely loved you very much."

"Thanks!"

Carson took out his phone and copied all the photos.

Leah glanced at the time and smiled, "Your eldest uncle’s family has arrived. Let’s go downstairs."

Carson’s attitude had become calm and accepting, he smiled, "Sure!"

Carson really didn’t have any good feelings about aristocratic families, from what he had seen, few were clean and straightforward, so he didn’t hold any expectations for this trip. But so far, the attitudes of the two elders and his aunt had exceeded his expectations.

Carson and Leah Frost went downstairs where the place had already become lively; his eldest uncle’s family of five had arrived.

Eldest uncle Antonio Frost, Aunt Ariella Rollins, cousin Adriel Frost, younger cousin Nathaniel Frost, and little cousin Lillian Frost all fixed their gaze on Carson.

Antonio Frost looked at Carson and laughed, "He looks so much like Westin; he’s like a carbon copy!"

Aunt Ariella Rollins commented with a smile, "Back in his days, he looked just like this. In the blink of an eye, the child has grown so big. Time really does fly."

Antonio Frost walked over, patted Carson on the shoulder, and laughed, "Lookin’ sharp! I’m your eldest uncle. No matter what’s happened before, it’s good that you’re back!"

Soon after, his younger uncle Justin Frost’s family of four also arrived, and the house instantly became busier.

During the small talk, Carson learned that when his parents were in love, both his eldest uncle and aunt were already married. Westin had spent some time in Xijing, so they were familiar with him as their brother-in-law. Among the older generation, only the younger aunt, who had married Justin Frost later, had never met Westin or Lucy.

At the dinner table, the older relatives showed great enthusiasm towards Carson. The younger generation was not overly warm, but they displayed all the propriety that was due.

After dinner, Nathaniel Frost got a call and began to ask for leave, "Dad, Jakob Compton and the guys are asking me to hang out, I’ll be going first."

Lillian Frost’s eyes suddenly lit up, "Brother, I want to go too!"

Antonio Frost looked at Carson who was sitting to one side and smiled, "Young folks should hang out with their peers. It’s boring for them to sit with us old folks. Carson, why don’t you go and have fun with Nathaniel and Lillian? Get to know each other. Nathaniel, remember to take your cousin back to your grandparents’ later..."
