Chapter 97: Capturing the attacker

Cian snapped his head up before turning around and there right behind him in front of the dark alley a few paces away was a mean-looking thug, holding another ark tranquilliser in his hands. Their gazes met and his mouth dropped open as if he couldn’t understand how Cian was still standing without the knock-out potion’s effects kicking in.

Anger washed through Cian and his siren stood up with a war cry, the tranquillisers ruffling his feathers in the wrong way. His bird lunged at his surface and so did Cian as he sprinted across the street and unsheathed his claws that were as sharp as blades. The man in front of the dark alley jumped as he threw another dart that hit him dead in the centre of his chest but Cian didn’t stop, he took out the dart that was sticking in his chest while running and aimed it back at the bastard who dodged it before muttering out a loud curse.

The man tried to run away but Cian was quicker than him thanks to his siren powers, he hummed a low melody that caused the man to stumble in a daze before he jumped at the man and took out the three darts that have been sticking in his body and smashed them right at the centre of his attacker’s forehead.

His attacker cried out in surprise before he stumbled back and tried to run away again but with the surge of his siren’s blood that was as petty as the devil, Cian smashed his elbow in the back of his attacker’s head. Then wicked fast he pressed the carotid artery of the man, his attacker tried to get hold of his neck before passing out ——

With a roar, another man rushed out of the alley and this time this man was far more bulky than the one he has just knocked out. Cian dodged as the man aimed his meaty fist at him before twisting in mid-air and slamming his feet against the man’s cheek which was as hard as a horse hoof. His delicate feet didn’t even leave a scar on the man’s face. What a mess.

" You should try some moisturisers man, that’s one dry skin..." commented Cian as he dropped to his feet, maybe his suggestion didn’t sit right with hulks man because he let out an air-splitting roar and lunged at him...

This time his speed was faster and before Cian could dodge him, his meaty fist slammed against his jaw, making his head whip to the side. Cian wiped the blood that spurted out of his mouth because of the rock hard punch and then examined his split lip before snickering, " Now you have made me mad, bear boy."

He twisted his body with a shrill cry and snapped out his claws, delivering a merciless punch in the guts that made bile and acid gush out of the man’s stomach. The bulky man grunted before he shot a look that was full of loathing and then pulled out a transportation talisman.

Cian’s eyes widened as he lunged forward. " Don’t you dare——"

With a whirl of air and magical force, the bulky man vanished leaving nothing behind.

" Cian!"

The sounds of thundering footsteps caused Cian to turn around as Dominic came straight towards him, his eyes popping out of his sockets. " Damn mate, I just left you for like two minutes.." his eyes swooped at Cian’s swollen jaw and he asked carefully. " You okay?"

" Fine," replied Cian as he licked his split lip and let out a painful hiss. Scratching the spots where the darts have hit him, the knock-out potion didn’t work on his body because his blood was poisonous enough to overcome any other poison but it did cause his skin to itch severely. " That jerk, he really had a punch in him... look what he did to my beautiful face, this swelling will take at least three days to go down because he was a monster bear shifter, their punches have the ability to break through shifter’s healing. I never thought that I will come across one in my entire life."

Dominic stared at him like he popped out another head or two. "That’s your concern? Jesus you were attacked and all you are worried about is that your face got a swelling, are you for real?"

" I am a siren, my face is my selling point," said Cian looking at Dominic as if he has gone mad. " but anyway I will be able to get a very good revenge for myself once I am done with him." He added looking down at the man who shot darts at him, he has slid down on the ground because Cian let go of him when the bear shifter attacked him. " I bet he will be able to tell us some good things. So, pick him up we need to be very hospitable to our guests, don’t be rude."

Cian checked his pocket watch and sighed before leaning back on the chair on which he was sitting. In front of him was the attacker who was slowly getting up from his trip to the Lala land. Though Cian was impatient, he was a very elegant and classy killer, never rushing through things or else he wouldn’t have been ranked one in the assassination ranking—— impatience was never the key to a good hunt. So, he very delicately sat on his chair and waited until the attacker was done blinking the haze out of his eyes.

" Hi, glad you could be with us again," he said when he was sure that the attacker was conscious enough to understand what he was saying. " You might have noticed that you are feeling chilly but that’s all because I have stripped your clothes off nothing to be worried about."

The attacker who was blinking in his eyes in a lazy daze sat up straight upon hearing Cian’s words and when he looked down at the bunch of piranhas that were floating in the thigh-level water. He realised that there was a lot to worry about.
