The three of them turned silent while the young unicorn elf’s ear drooped, Bree wanted to say something to lift the spirits of the young elf but she couldn’t think of anything what was she supposed to say to a young elf like her? Everything will be fine? But how was she supposed to say that when she did not even know what to say to make the young elf happy?

She and Blaise turned to Yakov after all he was the one whose brain seemed to work faster than the two of them combined but the thing was that Yakov’s EQ was just as worse as best his IQ was, he didn’t sense their gaze instead he took a breath and then looked at the unicorn elf before asking the one question that has been on his mind for a long time, " You said that you and your group was moving from the forest right but as far as I know this is not the season for you to move."

Generally, the unicorn elves who didn’t stay in the ancient forest would move in the winters, the time when shifters stayed inside their houses even though shifters didn’t feel cold, they didn’t like straying out in the cold snow because their beasts didn’t like the feel of something cold and icy falling on their skin or fur. That was when the unicorn elves and other magical creatures would make a move but currently, it was neither cold nor rainy season, so he couldn’t why the unicorn elves were moving from their hiding spot all of a sudden.

While he was pondering over this matter he felt someone glaring at him, causing Yakov to look up and show a bewildered expression as he said, " Why are you looking at me like that queen?"

Bree glared at Yakov, she did expect that he would be a tad bit tactless but what she did not expect was that he would be this much of an emotional fool. She shook her head, it was her who was at fault here, she should have never expected anything from a man of his calibre, he was the man who came up with the plan of executing his wife for goodness sake! What was she expecting from him? Hand out a frozen dessert to the young girl and cajole her sweetly, she might as well hope for the Goddess to descend to the sky and start handing out rebirths like candies.

She sighed and then crouched down in front of the young girl as she said softly, " You can stay with us if you want but if you want to leave then we wouldn’t stop you either."

The unicorn elf raised her head to look at her, her tiny hands playing with the frayed edges of her old dress as she softly said, " I...I can?"

" Yes, you can.." replied Bree, trying to make her voice as soft as she could given that her voice was more like a hoarse, scratchy kind like she has been singing soprano under someone all night. "It depends on you and I won’t stop you if you want to leave now or in the future."

The unicorn elf stared at her, Bree could see the disbelief, suspicions and many other emotions fleeting in those eyes as the young girl carefully pondered over what she has said to her just now.

Bree waited for her to say something but when the young girl didn’t say anything, she thought that she was done speaking, Bree got up from her spot but just as she was standing up, she heard the voice of the young elf echoing in the room.

" The stars have told us that the one who has been sleeping till now is awake and they are moving towards the path of destruction once again, chaos is going to be descending upon us soon, that is why my clan started moving."

" Who are you talking about?" Blaise asked at once, his voice a lot sharper causing the unicorn elf to shut her mouth as she looked away and shuffled close to Bree ignoring the slight growl that vibrated in Blaise’s chest.

Seeing that the young girl was actually refusing to answer him, Blaise heaved a breath and then said in a rapid whisper, " Look here young one, you have caused enough damage because of suddenly appearing out of thin air, if not for us you would have been dead by now, so as a thank you for what we have done for you, you better tell me what is going on with the stars and what not...Oww your majesty why did you pinch me like that?"

Bree shot Blaise an exasperated look, she couldn’t understand why the two of them were this useless in such situations but she turned to look at the young unicorn elf and said, " You don’t have to pay any attention to him, he might act like that but he is nicer than this.... I guess."

She then turned to look at Blaise and Yakov before saying, " We need to hide her ... if the Duke finds out that we have saved her instead of killing her then it will be troublesome, I do not wish to go against him without knowing what he wants to do."

" Leave that to me, your majesty." Blaise patted his chest as he rubbed his ears and then brought out a small bottle of wine that almost caused Bree to raise his hand on him but then he ducked and took several steps back as he raised the bottle in his hand and said, "It’s not what you think your majesty, this is the potion of multus."

" What’s that?" Bree asked

"It’s a potion that allows one to take the appearance of someone else, all we need is to make that girl think really hard and nice about the appearance of someone that she wants to take on," then he turned to look at the young elf and said in an explanatory voice, " Listen, little girl, make sure that you think about a human and not an elf, if you do then it wouldn’t change anything at all, understand? Because if anyone finds out that you are an elf both you and us will be done, all right?"

The young elf also understood the severity of the situation so she hurriedly nodded and only then did Blaise turn around and picked up a glass of water before pouring a decent amount of the potion of multus that he was holding in his hands. " Here you go, before drinking it think about the person you need to transform into and make sure to drink it in one gulp is you spit it out then the transformation will be halved."

The young elf took the potion of multus from Blaise and then she closed her eyes as if she was concentrating hard on the image of the person she wanted to transform, neither of them said a single thing to disturb her and calmly waited until she was done.

" Are you done thinking?" asked Yakov, this time he learned from his previous mistakes and asked in a rather soft voice while Bree nodded on the side.

The young elf nodded as she hesitatingly raised the glass and then brought it to her lips but she didn’t drink it causing Blaise to roll his eyes as he said, " Lemme tell you something little one you were already dead when we found you, so if we wanted you dead then you wouldn’t have the chance to stand here in front of us all right?"

" Third consort be kind," hissed Bree from the side, she really couldn’t rein in this wild horse no matter how much she tried could she?

Blaise rolled his eyes again but this time he smiled sweetly at the young girl and said with a decent voice, " Would you please drink it? I swear it’s not poisonous." And then he turned to look at Bree with an inquisitive smile and said, " Was this good, your majesty?"

Bree didn’t say anything but her lips twitched as she looked at her third consort and shook her head, surely she was the most unfortunate lady in the world wasn’t she?

Blaise might have been harsh on the young elf but what he said was true, if they wanted the young girl dead then they would have left her to die already, something the young elf knew as well. So she pursed her lips and drank the potion of multus in one gulp before coughing out as she dropped the glass. But thanks to Blaise’s swift and agile magic, the glass didn’t fall on the floor as he swiftly chanted a spell and stopped the glass in midair.

With his fingers moving in the air as if he was guiding an orchestra, he placed the glass back on the table while the young elf dropped to her knees, her skin and hair wriggling and melting as if they have been attacked by a bunch of acids.

Bree turned to look at Blaise who smiled at her and pleasantly said, " There is nothing to worry about, your majesty... this is how the potion works."
