Chapter 205: Won the hunt

" What the hell is this?" Duke Cilantro shouted as the hunting dogs went mad. He has wasted a lot of money and effort in buying this bunch of fools but they actually caused trouble at such a crucial moment, were they really serious?

" Stop them! Right now!" He ordered his knights as he twisted his neck to look at the magical creature that was trying to escape from him, he couldn’t allow that to happen! He immediately turned around to look at his aide as he motioned for him to do something, this magical creature was a unicorn elf! They were really hard to find, in case he let go of this opportunity then who knows when he will get a similar opportunity as this?

The aide who followed Duke Cilantro caught his master’s signal, he jumped off his horse and took aim at the unicorn elf, however just as he let go of the arrow that was notched in his bow, it was intercepted by another arrow, stunned he turned to look at Blaise who was looking at him with an ’Oopsie, I did it again look.’

" Sorry about that, Sir Vlad," said Blaise with a cheeky grin as he looked at the man who was staring at him in frustration. " I did not mean to do that but you know I am more of a swordsman than an archer, my aim is a bit poor, especially with all this mist covering my eyes."

Sir Vlad let out a muffled curse as he motioned the other nobles to make a move but just as the nobles notched their arrows in their bows, Yakov raised his hand and announced loudly, " The Queen has won the hunt, her arrow has pierced the magical creature."

No sooner did he say that than the entire crowd turned silent even the nobles who were being chased by the mad dogs turned stiff as they all turned to look at the arrow with golden carvings that was sticking out of the chest of the unicorn elf. It was a clear win for the Dragon Queen even if they didn’t want to admit it.

The Duke couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the arrow with golden markings sticking past the chest of the unicorn elf, he turned to look at Bree who despite looking tired and harassed because of the drugs that he was giving her looked rather cheerful as she looked at the unicorn elf that she has hunted. Now that the entire thing was over, Bree could feel that the entire thing was a bit of a thrilling adventure, she calmly lowered her head and then turned to look at the Duke with a pleasant smile. She needs to snatch this hunt before the Duke could begin with his sweet talk or else if that little girl with elfish features fell in his hands, she might be troubled later on.

"It seems that it is my win this time Duke, I hope you don’t mind it?" She said with a grin that seemed to be a bit too mocking.

" Your majesty that——" The Duke looked at Bree and couldn’t help but call a nosy bitch in his head. He was so close to getting the success he has been dreaming of but now that he was in this situation what was he supposed to do? Should he ask for the hunt from the Queen? Maybe he should after all that woman was under the drugs she would definitely agree to his request, right? All he needs to do was to ask and that was all that he needed. " Your majesty, if you don’t mind can you hand me that hunt?"

" Hmm?" Bree frowned as she looked at the Duke, though she didn’t know the mysterious reason as to why the Duke was doing such a thing, she didn’t have much chance of guessing what was going on until she takes control over this territory and that she has to avoid handing the hunt to the Duke...but how? She was supposedly under the effects of drugs, so what should she do?

As she thought about it, she couldn’t reach a conclusion and it was Yakov who broke the awkwardness as he raised his chin haughtily and said, " Duke are you really suggesting that the queen should hand over her hunt to you? Don’t you know that the Queen is very possessive of her things no matter what they are? How can you even think of something stupid as snatching something from a dragon shifter, don’t you know how territorial and possessive they are of their things?"

That’s right, she was the Dragon Queen! With the blood of a dragon running in her veins! She didn’t have to think so hard if she wanted to make something hers!

Bree turned to look at the Duke with a bossy expression and said sharply, " Are you trying to snatch my hunt, Duke? If so then why don’t you try?" She raised her hand and then summoned a fiery fireball as she looked at the Duke with a slight tilt of her head. " If you want to snatch my hunt, then you are free to do so but remember that I am someone who does not like sharing, so if you have the guts come at me."

How can the Duke have the guts to fight a dragon shifter, especially one who was bent on protecting her procession? He has long heard about how greedy and over-protecting dragon shifters were of their things whether it was human or something else, they will never let go of anything that belonged to them.

He glanced at the unicorn elf and cursed the Dragon queen under his breath feeling even more annoyed as he thought of all the losses he would be making today.

"Let’s go!" He shouted at his procession before turning his horse away and kicking a dog in his snout when it tried to jump on his legs. Bunch of good for nothing! He lost so much money on them and yet they made things even more difficult for him!

Just wait once he gets hold of the trader who sold these useless dogs to him, he will make him suffer!

As the Duke and his procession flooded out of the forest, Yakov and Blaise turned their attention to the unicorn elf. Bree too waited until the Duke’s procession was gone and then jumped off her horse as she walked towards the unicorn elf child who was lying on the ground without even the slightest bit of moment. She turned to look at Blaise and then opened her mouth but the latter immediately reached out and covered her mouth with his making it impossible for her to say anything.

Bree who has never kissed before felt like her head was getting dizzier and dizzier with every swirl of his tongue, she didn’t know how to kiss but under Blaise’s lead, she didn’t even have to care about anything like that because the man didn’t give her a chance to think at all.

With his hand skimming up her back as he reached for her hair and knotted his fingers in her raven locks, she felt him angle her mouth as he deepened his kiss. He tastes like strawberry with cream—- that was her last thought as he pulled away and nipped at her bottom lip with a heated gaze. " Congratulations on your victory, your majesty."

Bree turned her eyes slightly to the left and her gaze fell on the figure that was hiding behind the dense thickets, she immediately understood why Blaise has made the move but at the same time she could not help but get angry at him, did he really kiss her for a reason like that?

She glared at him before turning around and walking away but she didn’t forget to wait and say, " Don’t forget to bring my hunt to my room, I have a very good idea about what I want to do with it."

Blaise who has been thoroughly ignored blinked his eyes and turned to look at Yakov with a confused look in his eyes, why was she refusing to speak to him? Now, what did he do?

" You deserved that," was all Yakov said, he was indeed jealous and furious enough to punch Blaise in the face but seeing how the Queen was not refusing to talk to him, he was a lot calmer now.

Anyway, punching this man was not his priority at the moment. He would have his revenge in some other sweeter way.

The two of them quickly crouched down as they tied the unicorn elf and then carried her inside a sack, Blaise took the arrow that was sticking to her chest, his point being that the longer a poisoned arrow was left inside the elf’s body the more threatening her situation would become.

" What are you going to do about him?" Blaise asked as he picked up the elf and lifted it over his horse like a rice sack.

Yakov calmly wiped his hands and said, " Do I even need to take care of such a thing? My aide is enough for something like that."

As he said that dual sharp hisses echoed in the clearing causing both of them to stiffen as Blaise chuckled, " Looks like there is someone else who is hiding in the dark huh."
