Chapter 115: Save her

Rushing out of the guild was something Cian did out of pure instinct. However, as soon as he barged out of the guild, all he wanted was to turn around and walk back right in —— sitting in the middle of the streets was Harley, her face a mask of terror as she looked at the shifter in front of her.

Cian took a whiff of the scent of the shifter in front of him and a snarl rumbled in his chest, the man standing in front of Harley was a manticore and a very strong one at that, he couldn’t understand what Harley was doing here much less how she got entangled with this manticore that was standing in front of her.

His eyes grazed over the long scar marks on Harley’s back, dripping with blood and the anger that was flickering on the face of the manticore. Just one glance was enough for him to see that if he didn’t intercept this matter then it would escalate to a point where no one would be able to stop it.

But did it matter to him? He blinked dropping his guard against the manticore, there was no reason for him to get in trouble with this angry beast for a woman who was nothing to him.

" No.. she is the one you are supposed to be with," a voice echoed in his head, darker and sinister as if someone was whispering in his ears from behind. Stunned, Cian turned to look behind him but there was nothing—— no one was standing behind him much less speaking those words that he just heard.

He blinked his eyes looking around the entire pub to see who spoke and dared to say those words to him but apart from Dominic and Claus no one was beside him and the two of them knew better than saying those words like that to him, so who was it? Who dared to say those words to him?

" Go ...save her ...she is your destined one," said the voice once again, this time a lot more alluring as if mesmerising him into doing its bidding. He whipped his head to look back in the front since the voice came from the front but just like before there was no one there, Cian felt like he was losing his mind.

" Cian? What’s wrong with you?" asked Dominic looking at Cian with confusion in his eyes. Why was he whipping his head left, right, front and back like that? Was everything okay with him? " Why are you looking around the pub like that? Huh? Have you gone out of your mind suddenly?"

" Save her..."

" You have to save her..."

" Go and save her ..."

The voice got more and more fervent inside his head and Cian couldn’t hear a thing that Dominic said to him all he could hear was the voice that was whispering in his head, he wanted to ignore it because no matter what happened to Harley wasn’t his concern at all.

But the more he tried to ignore it the louder the voice became in his head.

" Save her!"

" Save her!"

" You have to save her!"

" I KNOW! I KNOW! I GET IT! STOP!" Frustrated with the voice that was screaming in his head, Cian shouted startling both Claus and Dominic.

" What’s the matter with you? Oi! Hey, where are you going——"

Even Cian himself didn’t know where he was going but he had to do something about the stupid voice that was going in his head.

" Help me! Someone! Anyone!" Harley screamed in terror as she looked around, the system has asked her to walk into the town with a rainforest scent sprinkled on her clothes and that was what Harley had done but after she followed the directions that were given to her by the system to the guild where Cian was, she bumped into this manticore shifter.

And maybe it was her unfortunate day because the second she knocked into him, the manticore shifter suddenly erupted with a fury that she didn’t expect at all. Before she could understand what was going on with her, Harley was swiped to the floor with a harsh bang of the manticore’s claw—— now she was in so much pain that she couldn’t even stand up much less protect herself.

’ System! System! What are you doing? Help me out!’ She roared in her head. The magical system was supposed to help her out instead of staying silent when she was in need what was it doing? ’ System!’

Terror clawing in her chest, she looked at the manticore shifter in front of her. There was no way she was going to die right? Like seriously, she died in her real world, no way she was going to die once again, right?

" You ...what are you..." the manticore too didn’t know why he was so furious, all he knew was that the woman in front of him was igniting a wave of anger like never before in his body. It was as if only killing the woman in front of him will ease the anger inside him. He was furious, so furious that he couldn’t get control of his own body. " Ge...Get away.."

His beast lunged at him again and again, trying to shift and honestly, if not for the fear of being subjected to the ’no violence,’ rule against omegas that the Queen has validated just a few days ago, he would have really let his beast get this woman in front of him.

" Wal..walk away dam..damn you..." the manticore shifter grunted trying to stop his beast from lunging at the woman in front of him.

The more she moved the more the scent on her body wafted off to the manticore causing the anger boiling in his body to hit the peak and his beast lunged to the surface with a roar.
