Chapter 49: A Nightmare In The Devil’s Chambers

Rama finally stopped thinking, she was too sleepy to strain her already drained brain, so she would shut down and go to sleep. After soaking her body in the warm water to satisfaction, she emerged from the tub and dried her body with a towel before changing into the dry clothes on the table.

She rubbed the towel against her hair thoroughly and tied her wet hair in a bun after she was done. She inhaled sharply before emerging out of the bathroom into the room.

Her eyes scrutinized the room, but there was no sign of Draco. She shook the urge of wanting to leave since It could be one of his traps to make her act defiantly when he had strictly warned her to sleep in his room.

She shrugged nonchalantly. At least he wasn’t there, so she could sleep comfortably. Her eyes darted back and forth between the bed and the chair, even though she wasn’t privileged to sleep in either.

Logically as a maid, she should take the floor, not even the chair but she shrugged it aside and approached the bed. He would never really punish her for sleeping on his bed, would he? She pondered but she still mounted on the comfy, King sized bed and tucked herself in with the silky duvet which she pulled over her head, as if it would conceal her presence from Draco.

It was a bit disgusting, sleeping on the bed where he engaged in his womanizing deeds, but it was too compelling to resist such a wonderfully made bed.

She groaned softly in satisfaction as her eyelids shut close and she immediately fell into a deep slumber. She was asleep when she felt the side of the bed sink in, as a figure occupied it and she felt the body of the figure brushing lightly against her body, but she was in a state of deep slumber, so when she tried to open her eyes, sleep overpowered her and her senses failed her.

--------------------

The place was pervaded with the deepest depths of darkness like an abyss and it was cold, ice cold and Rama trembled slightly as she rubbed her arms together to derive warmth, but it was futile.

She wondered where she was as she screened her eyes around the strange place with an eerie ambiance, but her human sight failed her so she couldn’t see anything.

She could feel an eerie presence in the darkness and she let out shaky breaths, wondering where the hell she was. She remembered she was asleep, but then how did she end up here?

"Hello." She called out with a slightly terrified voice as the eeriness of the vicinity intensified in every second. Her voice echoed back to her in the darkness and she felt a gust of wind blow past her skin behind her, making goosebumps manifest on her arms.

She veered around with frantic movements and her heavy breathing became heavier as her heart pounded hard against her ribcage in fear. She looked back but there only darkness greeted her. Whoever brought her there, probably had a knack for hunting people, she thought inwardly.

She looked straight ahead and she gasped in fright as her eyes locked into a pair of obsidian irises with a golden sclera. The seers?

The three seers stood in front of her even though one of them was now dead which she found strange, but what she found more strange was why the seers had brought her to the eerie area and how? It didn’t seem like a nightmare as she could sense every single sensation of fear and the chills emitted into her skin from the eerie ambiance weighing heavily on the place.

She wanted to speak, wanted to ask why she was there but her lips were unable to move and no words could be formed from them as she stared into their mesmerizing gazes that bewitched her mind and entrapped her soul.

"Drowning in an ocean of enigma." One of the seers spoke with a euphonious voice that made her brain almost turn mush. It seemed almost unreal for such a voice to come out from a being, but it didn’t seem inconceivable seeing how they had such an ethereal beauty.

"The haze of obscurity haunts your path." The second seer said and her voice resounded in the darkness.

"Darkness pervades your fate." The third seer said with a hoarse voice as if she was choking on her words.

Rama couldn’t understand their riddled words, but it didn’t seem good from her perspective.

"You shall become one with his darkness, you will be loathed and hunted by the humans. You will become a nightmare tale told to scare small children when they sleep at night, a monster to haunt the by roads, a living legend of terror to haunt the travelers when darkness looms over the land. A curse on the chronology of your fallen kingdom and your people. They shall hate you, Rama!" The seers said in unison as their voices clashed against each other as they echoed in her head and she felt adrenaline course through her veins in dread.

Rama couldn’t properly process their riddled words, but it was obvious they were speaking prophecies about her future which was evidently not good and rather was sufficed with darkness.

She couldn’t understand what was happening and why the seers were giving her such inauspicious prophecies when they had given her hope earlier, when they prophecied about her becoming a queen, so why was it different now? She wondered if their prophecies were altered or if it wasn’t accurate like Draco had said.

"You told me I’d become queen." Rama forced the words to roll out of her lips which felt rather strenuous to do.

The seers ignored her question and continued speaking in riddled words.

"He shall pave the path of darkness and you will dance with the devil in his dark world, while you give him redemption and the light which has been snuffed out in his darkened heart shall ignite with a burning flame induced by your touch." The seers said with a resounding voice which faded and she saw one of the seers coughing out blood as a deep claw gash materialized on her neck.

She fell to the floor with eyes still open as she lay stiff with her blood slowly enveloping her figure and the two seers wailed loudly in a high pitched scream, making her eardrums bleed as she groaned in pain while placing her palms over her ears.

---------

Her eyes shot open as she sat up with a trembling body and loud heavy huffs of breath escaped her lips at the terrifying tang of fear as adrenaline coursed through her veins. Sweat garnished her forehead even though it was a cold night and her body trembled.

She realized she was still on Draco’s bed and it was all a nightmare, but the nightmare didn’t seem like a typical nightmare. She had felt every sensation and the raw fear they enacted on her when they gave her those inauspicious prophecies. She could still feel her heart pounding against her ribcage in fear as her mind wandered to the nightmare.

"You shouldn’t expect a good night’s sleep when you’re sleeping on the devil’s bed." Draco’s daunting voice broke her out of her shocked state and at that moment, she was too stricken in fear to stem a snarky reply or snap at him as she whipped her face toward him.

Draco’s brows creased slightly. It was the first time he might have ever seen her truly petrified to her bones and he suddenly wondered what nightmare she had.

She ignored him as she ran her fingers through her hair in confusion as her mind wandered to the seer’s prophecies. She glanced at Draco and she inwardly shook her head as she hurriedly clambered out of the bed.

He couldn’t be the one. They had prophecied about her dancing with the devil and becoming one with his darkness but the only devil she was acquainted with, was the one right in front of her and she could feel his crimson red eyes watching her every move intently and she frantically wiped the sweat from her forehead as she gained her composure, but their prophecies still haunted her.

They had prophecies about her becoming a monster that would be hated by humans and she had never felt so terrified in her life, if that were ever to come true. If there was a slight possibility of her becoming a monster, then it would be much better to die a human than live as a monster.

"The seers." She mentioned with a croaked voice as she turned to face him for some clarification. He kept silent waiting for her to continue and she swallowed softly before she spoke again with a clearer voice.

"You said their prophecies weren’t accurate and please don’t lie but how accurate are their prophecies?" She said with a slightly shaky voice even though it wasn’t croaked.

He could see her jade eyes swirl with desperation and fear, fear of the unknown. That was what she truly was afraid of, she wasn’t afraid of the devil or him like others, instead she was afraid of the unknown.

"It’s a hundred percent accurate." He said in a low voice and her face turned pale with horror.
