The Devil's Warrior Queen
Chapter 161: The Soiree IV

Chapter 161: The Soiree IV

Her body trembled slightly in his embrace when she remembered her uncanny encounter with the devil for the second time.

"He was here. Lucifer." She whispered. Everytime she encountered him, it felt as if a tiny fragment of her soul had been sucked out of her body whenever she stared into those bottomless golden orbs of empty abyss.

She wondered how someone could be so empty yet full of darkness. He was a lost cause to the darkness, there was no redemption for him, hope had long given up on him alongside his life as an angel.

He was never going to see the light, for he would forever walk down the path of endless abyss, snuffing out every flicker of light he came across, his presence birthed from darkness itself and his existence, a balance between good and evil.

"It won’t happen again." He promised as he took both hands of hers in his big ones, caressing it gently.

"He wants to strike a deal with you." She mentioned. She figured it was better to divulge him on their conversation.

His face twisted into a grim one when he heard her speak. A deal with the devil never ended well, even though it would seem favorable to the second party involved, there was no winning for them, the devil always made sure of that, after all expecting redemption from the core of darkness was inconceivable, it was similar to running to your enemy for refuge.

"No one who has ever made a deal with the devil won at the end, one way or the other, they met their doom." He stated thoughtfully.

"He wants you to bear an offspring with an ancient demoness and give the child to him, in exchange for our freedom." Rama revealed and she saw his eyes darken immediately, making his crimson eyes almost turn black with shadowy darkness, his lips twitched with irritation.

"He’s in over his head if he thinks I’ll agree to his silly requests." He muttered beneath his breath, his eyes getting darker even though his voice was calm.

She swore she saw it turn pitch black, but in a blink of an eye it retained its crimson shade, leaving her to ponder if she was only hallucinating or it was real.

"He said the next time he comes..." She trailed off with the words clogging her throat, even the air weighed heavily as if aware of the impending doom just around the corner, like a ticking time bomb.

She still couldn’t fully recuperate from the unnerving encounter, his threats were no mere meaningless words, they were the unspoken promise of eternal suffering and misery, one he wouldn’t hesitate to plunge them into if they defied him.

He was a predatory viper patiently waiting for the perfect moment to strike its target, waiting for their guards to be down so it could attack on a vulnerable moment. Draco was well aware with the devil’s tricks and schemes.

Draco’s jaws ticked as he spoke "The next time he comes, I’ll be here waiting and prepared." His voice was like a sharp dagger coated with the unspoken promise of a lifetime, a promise to keep her safe no matter the price he had to pay and if he had to pay with the life of every single being on the planet, he wouldn’t hesitate to burn the world down for her, sacrifice millions of lives just for one life, for her life which was more precious than any other life.

Her uneasiness subsided and the heavy weight of unsettlement vanished, making her body feel light, although there was a lingering whisper of wary but she shoved it aside as she thought of him only.

She leaned closer to him, nudging their foreheads together as she cupped his face, at that close distance, peering her gaze into his, she marveled at his beautiful flaming red eyes, fire blazed within the depths of his red orbs, the fire of passion, desire and blazing anger, she could see it clearly like looking through glass.

"You make me feel safe, but if something happens to me..." Her sentence was abruptly interrupted as Draco pulled away, his brows furrowed tightly making smooth wrinkles appear on his forehead.

She had never seen him that angry before until then, as he sprouted up on the bed, his body quivered slightly with the force of anger, his aura darkened around him like a cloak of melancholy as he clenched his teeth, veins popping in his neck.

Restless, he leaned down on her with a dark look, chest heaving heavily as his ragged breath fanned her face while he locked his hellish gaze into hers, for a split moment he looked exactly like his father, a daunting air clinged to every inch of his skin.

"Nothing will happen to you." His voice echoed out in a low tone, a cold darkness residing in it and then he stood to his full height, fingers digging into his dark locks in uneasiness.

"I’ll burn the world down if I have to, should I?! Say it and I’ll burn the fucking world and everyone in it to ash! I’ll burn hell to the ground if I have to!" He bellowed darkly, his guttural growls reverberating beneath his breath.

Goosebumps manifested on her arms at his dark growls while she watched him go berserk with rage.

His body trembled uncontrollably as he snarled, blazing anger eating through his skin faster than a wildfire. He slammed the wall with his fists in inhumane brute force, creating large, hollow dents as splinters of brick fell.

Rama sat frozen on the bed, shocked by his overwhelming anger as she watched him pummel the wall like it was nothing but a fragile glass, the air rippled with dark energy emanating from him, it made her toes curl in fear at his bestial behaviour.

He was infuriated, very furious because he was well aware of who his enemy was, the power and significance his adversary retained.

He was an immortal devil, the king of darkness, he possessed an evil that could never be contained nor suppressed, a darkness that could never be imprisoned nor does it harness a weakness to use as leverage against him, he was completely untouchable and invisible, unlike he who had something to live for and die for, a weakness and a flaw.

He continued pummeling through the wall with blows that could kill a human with one hit, until he heard her honeyed voice whisking into his ears, only then did he stop as if he had been snapped out of a berserk trance. He was heaving heavily like a ferocious beast, darkness reeling over his figure like a sinister entity.

"Draco!" She called with teary eyes and then she approached him, wrapping her arms around his torso as she hugged him from behind, pressing her small body into his back.

"It’s alright, I promise I’ll survive, so stop please." She said in between tears, her voice sounded muffled as she buried her face into his broad back.

He could feel her body quivering in his embrace, he could sense the fear emanating from her, still yet she approached him, aware he was in a berserk state of rage.

He veered around to meet her teary eyes, cupping her face he leaned down and kissed her, his lips pressed into hers so tenderly as if a passionate message was being conveyed through the kiss. It was a profound contrast to his firm, hungry kiss as he stroked his lips against hers with a delicate graze.

"I’m sorry." He said in between the kiss and then he took her lips again, sucking on it so gently, a tingling sensation enveloped her.

She froze in position as he kissed her with such tenderly affection, her legs wobbled weakly underneath her skirt as he gave her a taste of the unfamiliar delicate kiss. He pulled away, and her lips slightly parted in a silent plea for more.

"It’s time for the Soiree, get dressed in your chamber, I’ll take care of the mess I created here." He implied as his gaze darted to the profound hole leading to the balcony, with the moonlight seeping through it.

Her mouth fell open when she noticed the damage he had done with just a few blows.

"We don’t need to hold a Soiree event just to execute the culprit, I don’t care anymore I just want to be with you. Zamiel could handle the execution, can’t he?" She reasoned out as she clutched his arm tightly.

"It’s already being held and this is the best way to use a scapegoat as a warning and lesson to all those who would witness it, if we don’t make a scapegoat out of this, there will be a second attempt." He assured her as he caressed her cheeks with ardor.

She nodded silently "Alright then, but it won’t take long?" She queried.

"It’ll be done before you know it." She smiled as she veered around and proceeded to leave for her private chamber.

"Rama." He called and she turned around with raised brows, waiting for him to speak.

His crimson eyes twinkled with adoration as he said "I love you." He breathed out in barely a whisper, every word retaining earnest affection as it flowed seamlessly underneath his breath, but she caught every word and her cheeks flushed tomato red as a shy, demure smile broke through her lips.

Without saying a word, she turned her back on him and exited the room, too stricken with delight to say a word, so she left timidly while those three words rang repeatedly in her head.
