The Devil's Warrior Queen
Chapter 139: Tour II

Chapter 139: Tour II

"Well, that’s amusing indeed, but do you know how I’m going to look like in the eyes of the villagers?" He queried with a sly smirk, making her laughing session abruptly end.

"What? You said it’s the opposite of your true form." She said, eyeing him with a skeptical look.

"Yes, but I never said the opposite of my beauty. Come take a look, love." He said, tugging her gently to stand in front of the mirror while he stood behind her.

Her eyes narrowed to the striking figure standing behind her in the mirror, his tall and commanding presence capturing attentions. His golden, sun-kissed locks cascaded like liquid sunshine down to his broad shoulders, framing a strong, chiseled jawline. His sapphire blue eyes sparkled like the deepest ocean.

There was an ethereal quality to his beauty, an otherworldly charm that defied mere mortal standards. A subtle, almost imperceptible aura enveloped him, a soft radiance that hinted at something extraordinary beneath the surface.

But this stunning man was not quite what he seemed. With a devilish grin and a flick of his fingers, the Devil’s son wielded his powers of illusion, concealing his true nature and adopting this mesmerizing facade.

Behind those captivating looks lurked something darker, a power that could both enchant and ensnare, a testament to the enigmatic duality of his existence which left Rama closing and opening her mouth like a fish.

True, the reflection of the blonde haired man in the mirror held no candle to the ethereal beauty of Draco’s true form, neither did he possess the dark aura he normally did, but still, the reflection in the mirror would be deemed too gorgeous for a mere villager or even human.

"How on earth does this look like a villager? Not even a vampire is this good looking, you’re just being illogical at this point. All the women are going to goggle at you throughout." She complained with furrowed brows and arms crossed over her chest firmly.

"Fret not love, no one else can have me anyway, so why are you jealous?" He teased as he flicked her chin with his fingers.

"You act like you don’t get jealous either." She grumbled with rolling eyes.

"There’s no need for that, you’re already mine, your soul and body belongs to me." He stated out nonchalantly with shrugged shoulders.

"What about my heart?" She blurted out as she turned to face him, the stark contrast between the blonde haired man in the mirror and his true form was heavily apparent. While his blue eyes sparkled like the blue clouds and his aura brightened up the vicinity around him, his crimson embers ones burned into one’s soul with a smoldering intensity, his magnifying dark beauty luring you into the sweet gates of hell.

"Your heart has always been mine love, that’s why it’s vulnerable to me only." He said with a tone of confidence.

Left in thoughts, she wasn’t sure whether to doubt his words or affirm to it. Had her heart truly always been his or was he just bluffing?

"Enough talk, it’s time for the tour." He said as he interlocked his fingers into hers, pulling her gently to follow him. They exited the castle and went toward the stable were horses lined up.

He approached a majestic black horse with midnight silky black mane. She suddenly recognized the horse when he rode back to his kingdom with her as his prisoner.

He mounted on the horse with a swift leap and extended his hand toward her. She took it and mounted on it too as she sat behind him. Her hands clamped around his waist as they took off, the horse galloping through the forest in an average speed.

She pressed her body against his, inhaling his spicy scent as she rest her head on his broad back with eyes closed. Taking a short nap, she wasn’t aware they had arrived at the townsquare, the core of the kingdom until his voice rang her back into the physical realm.

"Don’t tell me you fell asleep." He said sarcastically, while waiting for her to regain her composure before he would mount down.

"Huh? No, of course not." She spluttered as she sat up straight on the horse.

He leapt down, his raven black hair dancing with the wind shortly before his feet touched the ground. Before she could proceed to clamber down the horse, he carried her down with one swift movement like a weightless doll.

As she came down, the vicinity finally became obvious to her sight. There was a stone fountain at the middle of the square adorned with stone gargoyles spewing water into a central pool.

The place was bustling with humans and low ranking vampires going about their daily lives, but then the moment their gazes fell upon them, some would go into silent gossips, while some women would swoon at the handsome blonde man, envy in their eyes that he was already taken.

She ignored the prying eyes and continued to drink in the sight grazing her eyes. Surrounding the square were ornate, spired buildings shrouded in mist. The marketplace beneath the ebon arches was an assemblage of merchants peddling ethereal perfumes, vials of moonlight, and crystalline glasswork that caught the sunlight.

Draco led her through the bustling crowd as they walked among them, "It’s amazing to see humans and vampires cohabiting." She murmured in awe as she saw humans and vampires engage in clandestine negotiations.

Draco smiled sheepishly when he took her through a path of cobbled stone pathways winding through lush gardens into rows of gothic shops carved into the stone walls, selling intricately carved silver jewelleries, silk lined capes and variety of other items.

She suddenly remembered her missing charmed amulet, turning her head to him with a hiss she said " Did you steal my charmed amulet?"

He raised one brow up questioningly, feigning obliviousness at her question and in the next moment, a devilish grin cut through his lips.

"Why on earth would I let you wear a useless piece of trinket for protection when you have me, besides that, wear a gift from another man, it’s simply unlike me, don’t you think?" He pointed out.

"So you did take it, I knew it."

"Technically, I destroyed it." He said nonchalantly.

"There was no need to destroy it, giving it to someone else would have been much better." She hissed with pouted lips.

"Now that we’re here, you can buy whatever you want." He offered with a smile, one that made his eyes twinkle like blood diamonds under the sun.

Wooden market stalls were draped with colorful fabrics, offering rare herbs, dreamcatchers, and bewitched talismans, while rows of gothic stalls adorned with blood red banners offered trinkets, enchanted amulets and mysterious elixirs. She realized they must have purchased it from the white witch’s market.

The display of items catching her sight piqued her interest. "Fine then." She said with a grin as she looped one arm across the nook of his elbows, proceeding to approach the stalls, a small group of children’s gazes caught them, their eyes open wide in sheer amazement at the ethereal blonde man.

The three little ones hopped toward them, grinning from ear to ear. Judging by their height and cherubic features, they seemed to fall within the delightful age range of three to six.

Rama beamed at the adorable trio, but their attention quickly zeroed in on Draco, as though he were a towering candy treat shaped like a human.

Draco’s expression turned grim as the children swarmed him, their giggles serving as an irresistible siren song. One tugged at his long locks from behind, another latched onto his leg like a tenacious crab, and the third clung to his opposite arm.

Amid their laughter, Draco’s countenance grew increasingly somber, his patience waning.

"Throw me up, throw me up!" cried the child attached to his arm, revealing a toothless grin with scattered gaps where baby teeth had departed.

His jaw clenched as he gently disentangled the child from his leg with one hand and extracted the hair-pulling culprit with the other.

He set them aside and muttered beneath his breath, "I swear, if they approach me again, they will be taking their last breaths."

The children giggled noisily as they fell on their behind, even the passers by didn’t seem to pay much interest to whatever was transpiring as he seemed harmless because of the masked illusion he was engulfed in.

"Come on, you can’t possibly mean that, they’re so adorable" Rama said as she crouched to the children’s level, cupping the plump cheeks of one with a delightful smile. She realized that one of the children was a low ranking bred vampire as a result of its light red eyes.

As if the children were immune to negative responses, the children popped up from their sitting positions, displaying charmingly imperfect balance, and scampered toward Draco with devilishly playful expressions. Rama found herself unable to stifle her laughter at Draco’s predicament, while he cursed inwardly.
