The Devil's Warrior Queen
Chapter 138: Tour

Chapter 138: Tour

Rama gulped in speechlessness at his choice of vulgar words he so shamelessly spouted out. This man had no bit of shame in him and he didn’t care to modify his vulgar words either, she could only scoff in disbelief.

With a rebellious glare she said, "No, that’s not going to happen. Sleep like that and reflect on your punishment for what you did."

"I apologised already, you don’t have to be so hard, besides we both know the moment I touch you, the so called punishment you want to serve me will turn null, but as you wish queen, there’s another day ahead of us, so good night love." A sly glint flashed in his eyes as he gave her a luscious smile that beckoned with promises of passion.

She watched him as he lay stiffly on his back while he closed his eyes. She was surprised at how easily he gave up when he could have easily seduced her into surrendering to him, but then she realized he was Draco, sly, patient, egositic and shrewd.

Of course, he would relish in the pride of her giving herself to him willingly without him having to seduce or coerce her into surrender. It would be a trophy for him the day she voluntarily gave herself to him.

Turning her back to him, she laid on her side, the moment she closed her eyes she felt his strong arm groping her waist as he pulled her closer to himself possessively.

Rather than opposing, she fell asleep in his comforting embrace as he cuddled her, it was relieving.

A new dawn arose and she frowned when she heard the birds chirping loudly. She still wanted to sleep, especially when being cuddled in Draco’s firm but comforting hold.

Drowned in deep slumber, she heard the muffled sound of people talking softly above her, as well as giving her a slight tug in an attempt to wake her up.

Groaning in displeasure, she opened her eyes to see three maids hovering above her, two being normal maids and the other being Malika. She closed her eyes momentarily, in other to gain her composure before fluttering them open again.

"Good morning your highness." They all greeted with a bow.

"What’s wrong?" She asked with a yawn as she sat up.

The two maids exchanged fearful glances and then finally dropped their gaze on Malika, as if gesturing for her to speak instead.

"The king has requested your presence in the dining hall for breakfast, we have to prepare you now, since he’s waiting." Malika said after bowing her head.

"Oh, isn’t it too early for breakfast? Ugh." She groaned, shielding her face from the disturbing sunlight penetrating through the window with her palm.

"It’s actually almost noon, your highness." Malika informed and she gasped as she scurried out of the bed.

"Good lord, I’ve been sleeping too much lately." She mumbled to herself as she rushed into the washroom with the maids behind her.

In a slight rush, they assisted her in taking her bath and dress. Her hair was styled in a single braid to fall at the side, while they adorned her neck and wrists with simple jewelleries.

After getting ready, she strode down to the dining hall to meet Draco waiting.

"Good morning, I’m sorry for waking up late." She said slightly apologetically as she bowed her head.

He extended his hand toward her as she approached him in the dining table. Eyes darting between his hand and gorgeous face, she took his hand with a subtle smile before seating.

Bringing her hand close to his mouth, he kissed the back of her palm, his crimson eyes twinkling with an unfathomable glint as he said "Dont bow to me feisty wife, you’re my equal."

She froze for a second, it was the start of a new day, yet he was already spurring swarms of butterflies in her stomach.

An affectionate ardent smile conveying his fondness crossed his lips as he released her hand, his half lidded siren eyes piercing through hers with a flaming intensity.

She nodded with a smile, still unable to find her voice yet. Stealing a glance at him as he ate his food, she proceeded with hers.

"You still haven’t told me what it is behind the wall, did you imprison something there?" She queried.

He suddenly stopped eating as he tilted his head up to look at her with a straight posture.

"Did you sleep well last night?" He suddenly queried.

"Uhm, yes."

"Then why do you keep questioning me about something that has no business with you nor is it troubling you? Let’s end the topic here, love." He implied with a neutral tone, but she caught a slight whiff of settlement in it.

She merely nodded, realizing that pushing the topic any further would unnerve him more, so she ate in silence, although she was disappointed at his secretive nature and resolve to keep whatever dark entity it was away from her.

It wasn’t as though gaining knowledge of it would hurt her or would it? She pondered as she fiddled with her food, although she was filled but now the awkward silence was disturbing, she’d rather he teased or annoyed her. Silent Draco was too unnerving for her.

"I’m taking you on a tour in the kingdom, you didn’t forget did you?" He queried, his gaze flickering over her as he broke the suffocating silence.

"Oh, right! I almost forgot." She chuckled out awkwardly.

"You should dress in a more simple attire to blend in with the people, the experience is better when you’re treated equally." He pointed out, his eyes narrowing to her lavish magenta dress.

"You’re right, I should go change, I’ll be back in a bit." She said as she stood up, proceeding to leave.

"You don’t have to go anywhere, I can do that for you." He said with a playful smirk adorning his face as he stood up.

Only then did she notice he was wearing a simple outfit compared to his luxurious regal attire.

He was clad in a plain white linen shirt over black pants and boots, still yet his simple clothes didn’t dissuade the air of authority or dark magnificence he possessed, neither did his ethereal beauty diminish in even the slightest.

Her eyes narrowed to his slightly exposed taut chest beneath the shirt, as the upper buttons were left undone. She quickly averted her gaze from his chest to his face lest he’d taunt her for staring.

"And how are you going to do that?" She queried with raised brows, in slight disbelief, yet she waited for his reply with curious eyes.

With a sly smile, he extended a hand, and the room seemed to respond to his very touch. Shadows swirled around him, and a hushed eerie wind blew past them. The opulent gown, once a symbol of grandeur, began to transform. Silken threads unraveled, gems dimmed, and gold embroidery faded into obscurity.

In place of the grandeur, a simple, unassuming gown emerged. The rich fabrics turned to plain wool, and the jewels vanished, leaving behind the charm of modesty. The intricate patterns softened into earthy tones, and the shimmering vanished as if absorbed by the night.

Her eyes widened as she looked down at the gown that now graced her form. It was a reflection of the common villagers’ attire, a disguise to blend in, to conceal their supernatural nobility. He had wielded his dark powers not to diminish her beauty but to cloak it beneath the facade of simplicity.

She marveled at her reflection in the body sized mirror at the dining hall, and in the humble gown, she looked just like one of the village folk, the daughter of the humblest of peasants.

She was dumbstruck with awe even with being aware of the fact that he possessed demonic powers, she still couldn’t get used to it, it was simply fascinating.

She looked at him and then her brows furrowed. "And how on earth do you look nothing like a peasant even after being dressed as one?" She pointed out with a judging stare.

"But you look nothing like a peasant also, your beauty still radiates even in the dullness of the gown." He said with a charming smile, his eyes warm with adoration.

She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she positioned her single braided hair properly while staring at her reflection. He was right, she still looked as stunning as always even being clad in a simple gown, but the difference between an ordinary human like her and the devil’s son was apparent.

"Let’s be on our way." He said and she reflexively caught his arm with alarm in her wide eyes.

"Are you really going to go out like this? Everyone will know you’re no pauper with just one glance, you definitely won’t be deceiving anyone." She pointed out.

"I’m wearing a mask of illusion, the moment I step out of the castle, everyone will see a typical human, the opposite of my true form, except you of course." He stated out with shrugged shoulders.

"Oh, so everyone will see an ugly old man with a pot belly?" She laughed out loud.

Her eyes twinkled like the ocean beneath the silver glow of the moon, her face beaming with radiance as she laughed heartily, like the warmth of the sun and the beauty of a unique flower. She left him enthralled and captivated at that moment, trapping his heart with her bewitching gaze.

"The powerful devil’s son is swooning for a human, now that’s a sight worth seeing." She teased with a mischievous smirk tugging the edge of her lips up.
