The Cold-hearted CEO's Unwanted Bride -
Chapter 360: Mom, Can I Keep This Dog?
Chapter 360: Chapter 360: Mom, Can I Keep This Dog?
The little girl pointed at a Pomeranian: "Mom, I want this one. Can you buy it for me?"
Her eyes were filled with deep longing, and Qin Mingchuan subconsciously glanced at the golden retriever behind him.
Graceful and heroic, yet carrying a hint of undeniable silliness.
He actually liked it, but had forgotten to ask his little niece if she liked it too.
After hesitating for a moment, the little girl’s mother had already bought the Pomeranian for her.
Standing at the pet shop door, Qin Mingchuan smoked a cigarette. When the shop owner had some downtime, he asked Qin Mingchuan, "Mr. Qin, how do you plan to take the dog home?"
Qin Mingchuan responded with an unrelated question: "What kind of dogs do kids usually like?"
The shop owner paused for a second: "Are you buying the dog for a child?"
Qin Mingchuan nodded.
"It’s for my sister’s child, a girl."
"How old is she?"
"She’s over three years old."
The shop owner was silent for a moment before saying softly, "For a three-year-old, giving her a big golden retriever might not be suitable."
"What if she’s scared? I’d recommend picking a smaller breed or giving her a golden retriever puppy."
"Pomeranians and poodles are small and cute, and kids generally prefer them more!"
Qin Mingchuan looked at the shop owner, "Really?"
"Then the Pomeranian it is!"
"What about the golden retriever—do you still want it?"
Qin Mingchuan shook his head: "No, I don’t."
After leaving the pet shop, Qin Mingchuan stopped by a nearby dessert shop and bought a tiramisu for Qin Yinyin.
By the time he arrived at Xing Yue Bay, Qin Yinyin was still seated at the entrance. She wasn’t crying anymore, but after a few hours outside, her face had been sunburned, glowing a bright red.
Bo Yunshen was no longer outside, but the door was left open. Inside, Qin Yan sat facing the door, ensuring she could keep an eye on Qin Yinyin from indoors.
Qin Mingchuan looked at Qin Yinyin with a pang of heartache.
"What did you do wrong? The sky’s almost dark, and you’re still sitting out here?"
Qin Yinyin said nothing.
Holding the newly bought dog in his arms, Qin Mingchuan brought it in front of her.
"Do you like it?"
The dog Qin Mingchuan chose was white, with fluffy fur and a pair of pitch-black, shining eyes that looked particularly innocent.
"I like it."
Qin Yinyin’s eyes lit up.
The Pomeranian was small, fitting perfectly in Qin Yinyin’s arms.
It was her first time owning a puppy. She hugged the dog and gave it a kiss.
Qin Mingchuan chuckled and said softly, "Yinyin, the dog is hungry. Shall we go inside now?"
"Whatever mistake you made, just apologize to your mom."
Qin Yinyin was stubborn: "I didn’t do anything wrong."
"But you shouldn’t punish yourself either!"
"Look at your face – you’ve been sunburned. If you think you didn’t do anything wrong, you can explain it to your mom later when she’s not upset."
"Throwing a tantrum solves nothing!"
Hearing this, Qin Yinyin felt he made sense, so she allowed Qin Mingchuan to lead her inside.
She held the dog on one leash. One person, one dog—they shared the same look in their eyes.
Qin Yan froze for a moment while signing a document, casting a casual glance at Qin Mingchuan.
"Sis..."
Qin Yan didn’t respond: "Young Mr. Qin, you really need to fix your habit of claiming relatives left and right!"
Qin Mingchuan lowered his head.
Qin Yan’s gaze shifted to Qin Yinyin: "Do you know what you did wrong?!"
Qin Yinyin shuffled over to the sofa, wrapped her arms around Bo Yunshen’s neck, and said softly, "Dad, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have hung up on Aunt Lin Man."
"I also shouldn’t have lied to her, saying she called the wrong number. It was my fault."
"Please don’t be mad at me."
Qin Mingchuan froze.
He suddenly regretted it—if he’d known this was the reason, he would rather die than apologize!
That Lin Man was clearly harboring ulterior motives towards Bo Yunshen!
Bo Yunshen raised his eyelids slightly and said coldly to Qin Yinyin, "Get off me. You stink. Go bathe yourself!"
Qin Yinyin pursed her lips and climbed off him.
But she had no intention of heading to the bathroom; instead, she clung to the dog Qin Mingchuan had bought and asked, "Mom, can I keep this puppy?"
Qin Yinyin blinked, staring brightly at Qin Yan.
The dog—one look, and it was obvious Qin Mingchuan bought it.
Qin Yan frowned slightly and refused: "Can you even take care of yourself? And now you want to take care of a dog?"
Qin Yinyin turned to Bo Yunshen: "Dad, please help convince Mom. I really want it!"
Bo Yunshen, with his bandaged hand, scribbled on the document, as though he hadn’t heard a word.
He didn’t even look up.
Bo Yunshen had severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and wasn’t particularly fond of pets.
Moreover, given his current injuries, it was unlikely he’d leave anytime soon.
Putting up with Qin Yan and this mischievous kid daily was frustrating enough—why add a dog to the mix?
Though Bo Yunshen didn’t forbid keeping the dog, Qin Yinyin should’ve been secretly happy about that!
Qin Yan’s brows knitted tightly: "If you really want to keep a dog, let’s discuss it later!"
"Does this one have health certifications?"
"Has it been vaccinated?"
Qin Yan’s direct questions showed her attitude was softening. Qin Mingchuan stepped forward excitedly and said, "Sis, this dog has all the certifications!"
"And it’s been vaccinated. It’s very safe!"
The paperwork was thorough, and Qin Yinyin clearly loved the dog.
Qin Yan hesitated.
Suddenly, Bo Yunshen spoke: "When you buy dogs, the shop owner will always say the vaccines are done!"
"If you’re genuinely going to keep it, you should take it to a proper veterinary clinic for a new round of vaccinations."
After saying this, Bo Yunshen paused.
In fact, saying so was essentially him giving Qin Yan tacit permission for Qin Yinyin to keep the dog.
Qin Yan glanced back at him, said no more, and walked into the master bedroom, returning with her wallet.
She asked Qin Mingchuan, "How much was it? I’ll pay you."
Qin Mingchuan stepped back two paces: "I don’t want the money..."
"But let me say this again—the Bo Group won’t collaborate with the Qin Group."
While Qin Yan’s tone was calm, her determination remained clear.
"I won’t compromise my work ethics because of my daughter."
"Compared to the Qin Group, collaborating with another company would bring even greater benefits."
Qin Yan didn’t outright reject the idea of collaborating with the Qin Group like she had last time.
Her stance also wasn’t as rigid anymore. Qin Mingchuan smiled—at least the money spent on this dog hadn’t gone to waste.
"Sis..."
"I’m not your sister."
Qin Mingchuan licked his lips, his eyes showing some disappointment.
"If you truly want to achieve something with the Qin Group, revise the collaboration proposal and try pitching to other companies."
"No matter how many times you pitch to the Bo Group, you’ll never get past me."
Qin Mingchuan grew even more deflated.
Seated there, Bo Yunshen looked on as though watching a play.
The Qin family really seemed addicted to putting on performances, didn’t they?
The reason Qin Yan refused to collaborate with the Qin Group—wasn’t it because of personal grudges?
Yet the narrative changes every time she faces him!
Qin Yan’s devotion to the Bo Group was almost laughable—should he award her a "Best Employee" trophy?
Was Qin Yan still holding onto her aspirations for the Bo Group? Was she indirectly saying that if she ever became the Bo Group’s CEO one day, she’d put her heart and soul into ensuring every collaboration was with the best partner?
