Chapter 359: Come back in when you’re ready to admit your mistake!

Chapter 359: Chapter 359: Come back in when you’re ready to admit your mistake!

Qin Yinyin widened her eyes and looked at Qin Yan.

Her eyes glistened with tears, red-rimmed, and her face was streaked with them.

"Mom..."

"When you’re ready to admit your mistake, knock and come in!"

After speaking, Qin Yan slammed the door shut.

Bo Yunshen’s brow twitched. His gaze, sharp and focused, locked onto the closed door.

This was Qin Yan’s pity-inducing ploy!

He didn’t buy it!

Bo Yunshen’s eyes flickered slightly. Still, Qin Yan was truly ruthless. Didn’t she worry about something happening to Qin Yinyin?

Qin Yan stood at the door for a long time. When she turned around, she almost bumped into Bo Yunshen.

Qin Yan’s eyes were slightly red. Facing Bo Yunshen’s gaze, she immediately suppressed her emotions: "The master bedroom is tidied up. If you’re tired, you can rest first."

Bo Yunshen gave Qin Yan a glance.

Qin Yan didn’t even cherish her own daughter, so why should he care?

When Bo Yunshen entered the room, he deliberately left the bedroom door open.

Qin Yan followed him into the study.

Bo Yunshen lay down for a while, but somehow, Qin Yinyin’s words from earlier kept echoing in his mind.

[Last time on the mountain at Grandma’s house, Daddy, you said you’d play hide-and-seek with Mommy and me!]

It was also that day when Qin Yinyin got kidnapped.

Although the mastermind had already been caught, Qin Yinyin was just a child!

This world was filled with dangers. He remembered that Xing Yue Bay didn’t even have a gate. Across the way was a busy road!

Bo Yunshen took a deep breath and flipped over.

Why should he care whether Qin Yan’s daughter lived or died?

She wasn’t his child. What was he going to do—dote on her endlessly and then apply for a "World’s Best Stepfather" award?

More likely, he’d end up with a "World’s Biggest Cuckold" award!

Besides, it was entirely that brat’s fault. She refused to admit her mistake—she should suffer a little for it!

If he went out now, and Qin Yan saw him, she’d probably start overthinking his intentions again!

Bo Yunshen snorted, pulled out his phone, scrolled for a moment, and then suddenly stood up.

Qin Yan was a cunning, deceitful woman. If something really happened to Qin Yinyin, she’d likely latch onto him completely.

He couldn’t give Qin Yan that chance!

With that thought, Bo Yunshen got up, exited the bedroom, and opened the door.

Qin Yinyin sat on the steps in her slippers, her head lowered, still sobbing.

A child’s cries had a sort of infectious sorrow that seemed to cast a shadow over even Bo Yunshen’s heart.

Even hearing the sound of the door opening, Qin Yinyin didn’t turn back.

Bo Yunshen, holding his phone, sat down beside Qin Yinyin.

His legs were long, and sitting on the steps made it hard to fit them anywhere comfortably.

Qin Yinyin turned her head to glance at him, puffed her cheeks, then turned away abruptly.

The sadness and hurt in that single glance stirred an inexplicable wave of emotion in Bo Yunshen’s heart.

"What are you doing out here?"

"To watch you make a fool of yourself!"

Bo Yunshen let out a mocking laugh, staring intently at Qin Yinyin. "That’s the price of lying as a child!"

"I don’t need you to care!"

Qin Yinyin wiped at her tears.

"Well, I couldn’t care less."

Qin Yinyin let out a loud "Waaah!" and cried even harder.

Bo Yunshen: "..."

Why did it feel like he was the one in the wrong here?

Just as Qin Yinyin was bawling, Xiao Shen and Qin Mingchuan arrived.

"Mr. Bo."

Xiao Shen was efficient as always. Bo Yunshen’s gaze shifted beyond her to Qin Mingchuan, and Xiao Shen said helplessly, "Young Mr. Qin insisted on following, claiming he wasn’t here to see Qin Yan but to find Yinyin."

Bo Yunshen nodded. Xiao Shen lifted the stack of documents in her hands and quietly said, "Mr. Bo, I came to deliver these to Qin Yan. I’ll head inside."

"Mm."

As soon as Xiao Shen went in, Qin Mingchuan crouched in front of Qin Yinyin.

He wasn’t used to comforting children. Seeing Yinyin crying, he asked Bo Yunshen awkwardly, "Brother-in-law, what’s wrong with Yinyin?"

"Made a mistake, refused to apologize, so she got punished," Bo Yunshen said flatly.

Qin Mingchuan was momentarily stunned.

After thinking about it, he said, "Yinyin, didn’t you say last time that you wanted a puppy?"

Qin Yinyin paused.

She lifted her head, wide-eyed, staring at Qin Mingchuan.

Noticing her reaction, he smirked slightly. "I already found one for you. Want to come see it?"

"If you like it, we can bring it home!"

Qin Yinyin looked tempted. She glanced back at the open room door, a flash of grievance and disappointment crossing her eyes.

"I’m not going."

"Mom’s still upset. I can’t leave!"

Qin Mingchuan licked his lips.

"Then I’ll bring the dog over tonight to keep you company?"

Though Qin Yinyin wasn’t very enthusiastic, hearing Qin Mingchuan’s offer made her nod.

Qin Mingchuan came quickly and left just as fast.

Bo Yunshen raised an eyebrow, surprised by how Qin Mingchuan, foolish as he seemed, actually knew how to cheer up a child!

...

Leaving Xing Yue Bay, Qin Mingchuan went straight to the pet store he had already chosen.

He picked a golden retriever, known for its gentle temperament. What caught his attention was its large size.

It could intimidate people.

With Yinyin being so little, if she ever went out, having a big dog might actually protect her.

Qin Mingchuan felt quite pleased with himself. Driving his car, he arrived at the pet store in no time.

Next to the pet store was a flower shop. As soon as he parked, he spotted Lin Man buying flowers at the shop’s entrance.

She was wearing a soft yellow dress, standing among the flowers, looking as pure and ethereal as a fairy.

Lin Man noticed him too. But after their previous unpleasant encounter, she quickly averted her gaze.

Qin Mingchuan frowned slightly and walked over. "You’re not plotting anything shady again, are you?"

Lin Man’s face instantly darkened.

Her clear eyes glared at him. "Mr. Qin, what’s that supposed to mean?"

"What do you mean ’again’? When have I ever done anything shady?"

Qin Mingchuan curled his lips. "If you were such a good person, would you constantly interfere in other people’s marriages?"

"Besides, you once alluded to me that my sister meddled in your affairs! You and she aren’t exactly on good terms, are you?"

"You even pretended to give me advice before. Who knows what you were really thinking?"

Lin Man froze, stunned by his scolding.

"You could just ignore me, Mr. Qin. All I’m doing is buying flowers—is that a crime in your eyes?"

The anger and grievance in her gaze seemed genuine, making Qin Mingchuan feel like he might’ve overreacted.

Seeing Lin Man ruined his enthusiasm for buying a dog.

But before coming here, he promised Qin Yinyin that he’d bring back the dog by tonight.

After a moment’s hesitation, Qin Mingchuan still entered the pet shop.

The owner remembered him from before.

"What about that dog I had my eye on? I’ll take it."

The pet store had other customers as well—a mother and daughter. The little girl looked one to two years older than Qin Yinyin.
