Chapter 361: Chapter 361 Qin Yan is Really Cunning!
Qin Yan really knows how to play her cards!
To confuse him, she even brought along her half-brother, someone she utterly despises, just to put on this show for him.
Tsk!
Such classic Qin Yan!
Bo Yunshen’s lips curled into a mocking smirk. Was Qin Yinyin being left outside for so long all part of Qin Yan’s meticulous plan?
Qin Yan truly spared no effort in deceiving him!
No wonder she holds such a prominent position in the Bo Group—it’s certainly not without cause!
After staying outside for too long, Qin Yinyin’s body was covered in mosquito bites, even her rosy little cheeks bore one.
While speaking, Qin Yan pulled out the medical kit, which contained anti-itch ointment.
She dabbed some on Qin Yinyin while Qin Mingchuan stood to the side, watching. Unlike Bo Yunshen’s heavy scheming, his naive innocence showed as he asked Qin Yan:
"Can I ask why?"
"I just feel the Qin Group isn’t up to par. Why won’t you even give it a thought?"
"Is it because of my mom?"
Qin Yan’s movements remained steady and unchanged.
Though her head was lowered, the emotions in her eyes were clear for Qin Mingchuan to see.
In her gaze was utter indifference, as if he, along with the person he mentioned, were completely unrelated to her.
"You’re overthinking it, Young Mr. Qin. I just don’t want to suddenly acquire relatives after living like an orphan for over ten years."
"Especially Mr. Qin—since my mom passed away, I’ve been but an orphan. Why would stepping into success suddenly reward me with a dad?"
The harshness of her words made Qin Mingchuan’s expression falter.
His lips parted, but no words came out. Qin Yan tugged at the corner of her mouth, placed the anti-itch ointment back in the medical kit, tilted her head, and softly said, "Young Mr. Qin, from now on, please don’t appear before me again—I’d find it bothersome!"
Qin Mingchuan’s lips trembled.
Qin Yan continued, "I heard that the Feng Group’s work in recent years hasn’t yielded much profit. It’s focused more on boosting Tong City’s economic development. If your project proposal meets their needs, you might as well give it a try."
Qin Mingchuan nodded, apologized to Qin Yan, and left.
Qin Yan finished applying medicine to Qin Yinyin and then turned to tend to Bo Yunshen.
Qin Yinyin, having recently found a new little friend, was happily playing with a small dog. The dog had been bathed clean, and apart from the dust Qin Yinyin had picked up outside, she hadn’t gotten dirty again.
"Mommy, Daddy, I came up with a name for it!"
Qin Yan looked over with an amused gaze and asked, "What’s the name?"
"Susu!"
"Qin Susu!"
Qin Yan chuckled but still nodded.
Qin Yinyin cheered and hugged Susu, leaning into Bo Yunshen’s side, whispering, "Daddy, why don’t you change your surname to Qin as well?"
"We’re obviously a family, but your surname is different from Mommy’s, Susu’s, and mine—it feels like you’re an outsider!"
Bo Yunshen’s eyelid twitched, casting a subconscious glance at Qin Yan’s reflection.
Once again, conspiracy theories flooded his mind.
Did Qin Yan instruct Qin Yinyin to say this?
Was she trying to send him a message?
Perhaps about having Qin Yinyin take the surname Bo to "return to the family lineage"?
What a fanciful thought!
Then again, who gave Qin Yan the gall to think they’re still a family? She never said or thought that when he was practically at death’s door!
Bo Yunshen scoffed coldly and sneered, "Taking on a surname like yours—is it the same as a dog’s?"
"I wouldn’t stoop so low!"
Qin Yinyin was stunned by his rebuke. "Daddy, don’t you like Susu? Don’t you want Susu to be part of our family?"
Bo Yunshen glanced briefly at the silly, overly quiet dog on the floor, then indifferently looked away.
Qin Yinyin’s disappointment deepened.
Their interaction didn’t escape Qin Yan’s notice.
"Yinyin, Daddy isn’t feeling well right now. Why don’t you go play by yourself, okay?"
Qin Yinyin nodded obediently, and Qin Yan added, "Your clothes are dirty—go to your room, change, and come out for dinner afterward."
"Mommy made egg custard for you."
"Thanks, Mommy!"
Qin Yinyin sweetly tugged Susu along to her room to change clothes.
Qin Yan finished applying medicine to Bo Yunshen and headed into the kitchen. When Qin Yinyin emerged, it was just in time for dinner.
Qin Yinyin adored Susu so much that she even held the dog while sitting at the dining table.
Qin Yan couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t quite right. She hadn’t raised dogs herself, but were Pomeranians always this quiet?
Suppressing her unease, she handed the egg custard to Qin Yinyin and said, "Yinyin, put Susu down for now. You can play with it after dinner, okay?"
Qin Yinyin, gripping her spoon, scooped some egg custard and brought it to Susu’s mouth, saying, "Mommy, I want Susu to eat with me!"
Qin Yan froze in alarm.
"Yinyin!"
Her raised voice startled the child.
Qin Yinyin looked at her blankly. "Mommy?"
Qin Yan blinked rapidly, softening her tone. "Yinyin, Susu needs to eat dog food. If it doesn’t, it might get sick!"
"Don’t forget, Young Mr. Qin gave you dog food when he brought you the dog!"
Qin Yan felt nervous—Susu hadn’t been taken for vaccinations or a health check yet!
She couldn’t risk letting Qin Yinyin have close contact with it.
"Please be good—put Susu down and eat your dinner first, okay?"
Qin Yinyin pouted but complied, placing Susu down as instructed.
Bo Yunshen thought Qin Yan was overreacting.
All this fuss over a dog—as if it were some tremendous threat!
To Qin Yan, apparently, his presence carried less weight than a dog!
Qin Yan would’ve taken Susu to the vet immediately if she weren’t so bogged down lately.
Between looking after Bo Yunshen, managing files, and occasional trips to the office, her schedule was packed.
Finally, when Qin Yan managed to find some time, Lu Yi dropped by.
Bo Yunshen’s injuries had improved significantly; at least, the bandages on his hands had been removed, and the wounds on his palms were gradually healing.
When Lu Yi arrived, Bo Yunshen wasn’t at Xing Yue Bay.
"Where’s Yunshen?"
Qin Yan, engrossed in her files, didn’t even glance up as she responded, "Not sure. His injuries are mostly healed now."
"So he’s healed and already hitting the nightlife scene again?"
"What?"
Unfazed, Lu Yi handed her his unlocked phone.
The scene was all too familiar—Night Club Entrance, with Lin Man standing by his side. They were heading inside together, the headline read:
#Bo Yunshen spotted with new love interest at a bar, redefines taste in women#
Qin Yan glanced briefly at Lin Man. The summer breeze lifted her skirt; she had a slender figure and stood amidst the seductive lighting, radiating purity and simplicity, a striking mismatch for the bar’s setting.
Unperturbed, Qin Yan handed the phone back with a smile, saying, "He’s been cooped up for days—it’s good for him to relax a bit."
"Now that Yunshen’s injuries are mostly healed, he’ll probably move back soon."
Lu Yi spoke with a calm undertone, "Qin Yan, you need to prepare yourself."
"Whether it’s the paternity test or Yinyin’s kidnapping incident, it’s clear that you and Yunshen aren’t suited for each other."
