Chapter 355: Chapter 355: Mr. Bo looks handsome, just taking a glance
When Qin Yan brought out the first dish, Bo Yunshen was holding Qin Yinyin with one arm while reading a children’s book.
The man’s bandaged hand still held a small fork. Although it wasn’t very agile, he occasionally fed Qin Yinyin a piece of cake.
Neither of them seemed aware of her presence.
Only when she approached and placed the food on the table with a crisp sound did Bo Yunshen look up.
His body stiffened, and he subconsciously tossed the fork onto the table.
A hint of amusement flashed in Qin Yan’s eyes. Bo Yunshen furrowed his brows and said in a low voice, "What are you looking at?"
"Mr. Bo is handsome, just looking casually."
The expression on Bo Yunshen’s face became more subtle. He’s known Qin Yan for quite some time, but it’s the first time she’s complimented him.
And so directly.
Bo Yunshen’s lips twitched; she must have noticed him being nice to the little rascal and thought she could find a breakthrough with him, clearly up to no good!
Bo Yunshen didn’t respond, and Qin Yan handed him a pair of chopsticks, saying softly, "Yunshen, didn’t you say you were hungry? You should eat something first."
He reached out and took them.
Qin Yan turned and went to the kitchen, while Bo Yunshen picked up a piece of egg and put it in his mouth.
Probably considering Qin Yinyin, she made the eggs soft and tender. Although they were a bit bland, they were surprisingly delicious.
Bo Yunshen paused and furrowed his brows.
He suddenly realized that since his hospitalization, his life had become too decadent.
Not only did he accept Qin Yan’s care without hesitation, but he also peacefully coexisted with the little rascal.
It was as if the events from three years ago had never happened, as if he and she were just an ordinary couple living in mutual respect.
Holding the chopsticks, Bo Yunshen was momentarily lost in thought, when suddenly Qin Yinyin came up to him.
"Dad, isn’t the food Mom made better than what Aunt Lin Man bought?"
Bo Yunshen’s gaze deepened, his lips curling into a sneer, "Are you still asleep?"
"Manman is my little sweetheart; the meals she buys are made by chefs at Michelin five-star restaurants!" With that, Bo Yunshen picked up another piece of egg, "What did your mom make? There’s not even a pinch of salt in the egg!"
"Could it be that there’s no money left to buy salt?"
Although the kitchen was not far from the bed, Bo Yunshen made no effort to lower his voice, and Qin Yan, holding the spatula, paused with a forced smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
It really sounded as if those words were meant for her.
The thoughts in Qin Yan’s mind slowly dissipated; she pressed her lips and continued to prepare the meal smoothly.
Halfway through the meal, Mrs. Bo arrived.
She wore high heels and a modest yet elegant dress, with her well-maintained face showing a few signs of age.
"Qin Yan, come out with me. I have something to ask you."
Upon entering, she didn’t speak to Bo Yunshen or look at Qin Yinyin, addressing Qin Yan first, her tone anything but friendly.
Qin Yan put down her chopsticks.
Qin Yinyin blinked her big eyes, "Grandma, what do you want to say to Mom? Can’t Dad and I listen?"
"When adults are talking, kids shouldn’t butt in! Where are your manners?"
Qin Yinyin pursed her lips, remaining silent.
Mrs. Bo’s arrival killed about seventy or eighty percent of Bo Yunshen’s interest in eating.
He turned his head to look at Qin Yinyin; her grip on the chopsticks tightened, and a layer of mist covered her big eyes, making her look aggrieved.
She appeared inexplicably pitiful.
What happened to Qin Yan’s daughter, who seemed quite bold with him? Why did she become so timid when facing his mom?
This was something Qin Yan must have taught her, to act based on who they were dealing with, understanding their family’s personalities thoroughly!
In short, he was the one being bullied, wasn’t he!
"How is that impolite? Mom, as soon as you entered, she called you Grandma! If you choose to ignore it, fine, but why such a harsh tone?"
"Wasn’t Qin Yan chosen personally by you, as your daughter-in-law three years ago? Isn’t she also the granddaughter you personally acknowledged?"
Bo Yunshen’s lips curved into a mocking smile, "What, did you come after having a fight with Dad?"
Mrs. Bo suppressed her gaze, glaring viciously at Bo Yunshen.
No emotion could be seen on Qin Yan’s face as she instructed Qin Yinyin to eat well, then followed Mrs. Bo out.
It was very hot outside, the sky gradually darkening, street lamps lighting up, and multicolored scenic lights cutting through the city’s night, lending a unique beauty to the sky.
The wind in the hospital, just like outside, was mixed with a restless heat.
Mrs. Bo suddenly stopped, turned around, and looked intently at Qin Yan.
The night devoured her expression, leaving only her gaze, deep and haunting, unusually disturbing.
"Mom, is there something you want to talk about?"
Qin Yan remained indifferent, even a slight smile lingering on her face.
Mrs. Bo’s mouth twitched, "Pretend! Keep pretending! Qin Yan, you’re something else! You promised me you’d take good care of Yunshen, yet you serve me this hypocritical routine!"
Qin Yan paused, "What do you mean by that?"
"Yunshen’s condition hasn’t improved at all. The doctor said you were supposed to monitor everything happening to Yunshen for forty-eight hours straight—is this how you monitor?"
"Had I not called the attending doctor today, I would’ve been completely deceived by you!"
"You really are such a good daughter-in-law of mine!"
Qin Yan took a deep breath, while Mrs. Bo pressed on, "I also heard that Yunshen got seriously injured saving you. Is this the result of your care?!"
Qin Yan’s eyelashes fluttered.
Bo Yunshen had gone into Bai Le Men for Lin Man’s earrings and gotten hurt.
But saying this to Mrs. Bo, she probably wouldn’t believe it anyway. She might even think this was just an excuse!
By staying silent, isn’t that practically admitting as much to Mrs. Bo?
Mrs. Bo was livid.
Qin Yan knew medicine—three years ago, she could even perform a C-section on herself, and today she couldn’t even handle Yunshen’s burn, letting it worsen?!
Didn’t Bo Yuanshan once say she truly loved Yunshen when she married him? Wasn’t this what Qin Yan herself claimed?
Mrs. Bo couldn’t discern whether Qin Yan loved Yunshen or not, but she clearly saw Qin Yan wanted Yunshen’s life!
Feeling her vision darken, Mrs. Bo, who only had this one son, couldn’t let Qin Yan ruin him!
Thinking this, Mrs. Bo pulled out a document from her bag and slapped it against Qin Yan.
"The divorce papers—I’ve prepared them for you."
"You’ll get five percent of Bo Group’s shares, but there’s one condition: if one day Yunshen does end up with leukemia, you, Qin Yan, no matter where you are, no matter what you’re doing, must unconditionally appear at the first moment to donate your bone marrow to Yunshen!"
Qin Yan instinctively took hold of the document.
