Chapter 346: Mom, is that man really uncle?
Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Mom, is that man really uncle?
"Don’t get physical. Coming to find me, it can’t be some kind of family reunion, right? Speak directly if you have something to say!"
Qin Mingchuan’s smile widened as he lowered his voice, "The collaboration proposal Qin Group submitted to Bo Group—have you seen it?"
"Teaming up with Qin Group is a win-win situation. Sis, for this kind of collaboration, the Marketing Director just needs to nod their head. Do me a favor, won’t you?!"
Qin Yan smiled.
Her smile carried a chill: "Qin Shicheng sent you here?"
Qin Shicheng was their father.
Seeing her directly refer to him by name, Qin Mingchuan paused for a moment, then nodded.
"Yes... but the collaboration proposal was drafted by me. I genuinely hope—"
"Take this back to Qin Shicheng: I, Qin Yan, bear grudges and act petty. Even if that idiotic proposal you made somehow meets Bo Group’s standards, or even strikes as brilliant beyond belief, Bo Group still won’t cooperate!"
Qin Mingchuan froze.
In the midst of all the past conflicts, Qin Mingchuan was perhaps the most innocent.
"Sis, why are you doing this..."
Qin Yan sneered coldly.
"Go ask your dad!"
Finishing her words, she pushed him aside, holding onto the takeout and ushering Qin Yinyin into the hospital.
Qin Yinyin behaved very well—despite being only three years old, she rarely interjected while the adults talked.
Once inside the hospital, she blinked at Qin Yan and asked, "Mom, was that man really my uncle?"
Qin Yan didn’t answer.
Since the day her mother passed away, she lost not only her mother but her father as well.
"Mom?"
"Mom doesn’t have family anymore, and neither does Yinyin. No uncles!"
Qin Yinyin blinked, a little disappointed. That man just now seemed quite nice, and she found herself liking him a bit.
"Oh."
Qin Mingchuan didn’t follow them inside. Just as he was about to leave, he received a call from Qin Shicheng.
"Did you see your sister?"
Qin Mingchuan responded gloomily, "Dad, but Sis refuses to acknowledge me, even saying she doesn’t know me."
"I asked her for a reason, but she told me to ask you..."
The always domineering Qin Shicheng fell silent for once: "Your sister will soften eventually. Keep trying to wear her down."
Qin Mingchuan nodded.
After hanging up, he planned to leave but was stopped by a young woman in a red dress approaching him.
She wasn’t unattractive, but compared to Qin Yan, she fell far short. Qin Mingchuan hadn’t initially noticed her at all, but she suddenly blocked his way.
"You’re Yanyan’s younger brother?"
Qin Mingchuan froze, glanced down at the woman, and asked, "Who are you?"
"I’m your sister’s friend. My name is Lin Man."
"Lin Man?" Qin Mingchuan muttered under his breath, "Never heard of you. Before coming, I checked—my sister only has one friend, Lu Xiangxiang!"
"And judging by how you interrupted my conversation with my sister, you clearly aren’t a decent person either."
Lin Man’s expression remained gentle and composed.
Her demeanor was consistently detached—where she stood seemed almost untouched by worldly impurities, serene and clean.
"You not believing me is fine; just think of it as me never being here. Mr. Qin, see you around!"
Qin Mingchuan shot Lin Man a glance, muttered "Weirdo," and stormed off toward his sports car.
His sister had made it clear—the proposal was no good. He had to go make revisions ASAP.
...
Qin Yan carried the takeout into the hospital room. Qin Yinyin immediately took off her shoes and climbed onto the bed.
Bo Yunshen lifted his eyelids slightly and quipped, "Buying food took Director Qin quite some time, huh? What, even the restaurant staff couldn’t resist flirting with you?"
Qin Yinyin chimed in, "My mom is so pretty. If people like her, it just proves they have good taste!"
"Anyone who doesn’t appreciate my mom is brainless!"
Bo Yunshen: "..."
Qin Yan shot her a sharp look: "Haven’t I told you not to use bad words?!"
No bad words?
Bo Yunshen’s lips twitched. Wasn’t this indirectly confirming her superiority—that those who don’t admire her are indeed defective?
Qin Yan certainly exuded confidence!
Maybe she’d prescribe an eye doctor next?
Bo Yunshen glared at Qin Yan. She handed him chopsticks and spoke softly, "After eating, go for a check-up on your injuries."
Bo Yunshen accepted them, fiddling with the takeout dishes she brought. He then eyed the plain congee. "Qin Yan, this is all you’re giving me to eat?"
Her smile remained faint. "Yes."
"Your injuries are severe. The doctors specifically instructed: stick to bland food."
"This is for your health."
Bo Yunshen found her reasoning absurd!
For his health? She wouldn’t even bother dressing his wounds?
For his health, would she tirelessly think of ways to make his life miserable?
Qin Yan was clearly using this as an excuse, hiding behind doctor’s orders to deliberately make him suffer!
Bo Yunshen took a deep breath, tossed aside his chopsticks, and said coldly, "I’m not eating! Go buy me another meal!"
Qin Yan lowered her gaze slightly. "Even if I buy ten more meals, they’d still be the same."
Bo Yunshen narrowed his eyes, his piercing gaze settling heavily on Qin Yan, inexplicably intense.
The atmosphere suddenly grew suffocatingly tense.
"Dad, you’re already so old; how can you still be picky about food?"
"I’m not picky!"
Bo Yunshen snorted coldly. The dishes lacked even a trace of oil. Stuck in this hospital every day, his life was worse than that of a monk in a temple!
"That’s why you’re short!"
Qin Yinyin paused mid-bite, eyes widening as she looked between Bo Yunshen and Qin Yan.
"You’re lying. Mom said eating well and never being picky is what helps kids grow tall!"
Bo Yunshen smirked, "Then have you grown taller?"
"Besides gaining weight, what else have you gained?"
"Your temper?"
The last time she came to the ward, crying, shouting, and running wild—it wasn’t him, Bo Yunshen, who behaved that way.
Such a fiery temper—it couldn’t possibly be his influence, could it?
Bo Yunshen glanced sideways at Qin Yan.
Meeting his gaze, Qin Yan furrowed her brow. Yinyin shared the same food-related fussiness as Bo Yunshen. She had painstakingly convinced her daughter not to be choosy and eat everything, only for her beliefs to falter under Bo Yunshen’s few sarcastic words.
"Yunshen, this is all there is. I won’t be serving you anything else!"
Her declaration was resolute, triggering a chilly laugh from Bo Yunshen: "Is this Director Qin’s way of taking care of me?"
"This is exactly how I handle it!"
"Any health issues you end up having are consequences I’ll have to bear!"
"You know your mom’s temper, and I refuse to court trouble!"
"Since you’re okay with me looking after you, just stay put and recover! Otherwise, I can’t guarantee whether I’ll reveal Miss Lin’s return to the country to your parents!"
Bo Yunshen abruptly flipped the small table over.
Caught off guard, Qin Yinyin, mid-slurp of congee, was splattered across her face. Her expression shifted to shock.
She stared dumbfounded at Bo Yunshen, unable to process what had just happened.
Rice porridge mixed with other food scattered across the bedsheets and blankets; the room descended into chaos.
Qin Yan clenched her fingers. Bo Yunshen’s icy voice pierced through from behind: "Qin Yan, do you think you can threaten me for the rest of your life?"
