Chapter 347: Chapter 347: Mom, I Want to Go Home.
"Are you shameless? Three years have passed, and instead of improving, your methods have only gotten more despicable!"
"What? You stole Manman’s man, and now you plan to keep Manman from returning to the country forever?"
Qin Yan straightened her slightly messy hair, tilted her head slightly, and glanced at Lin Man standing at the doorway of the hospital room.
She clutched the hem of her clothes tightly, her expression showing a hint of panic, fragile like a trembling white flower about to fall.
The feeling of utter disgrace surged up again, swallowing the space in her chest.
Qin Yan pulled out a few tissues, silently wiping the filth off Qin Yinyin’s face.
The child didn’t cry, nor did she throw a tantrum. Except for the small blink of her eyes when Qin Yan cleaned her face, she was still and quiet, like a porcelain doll.
The food was freshly packed with some soup drizzled over it. Once Qin Yinyin’s face was cleaned, her originally fair cheeks looked red and swollen, seared by heat.
Bo Yunshen’s pupils contracted, and the familiar, gut-wrenching pain rose up in his chest.
The large hospital room felt heavy and suffocating. Although Qin Yan wasn’t arguing with him, Bo Yunshen still felt as if he couldn’t breathe.
Qin Yan casually picked up the burn ointment sitting on the table, the one Bo Yunshen had been using. She squeezed out a bit and applied it on Qin Yinyin, put the girl’s shoes on, and carried her out of the room.
Bo Yunshen said nothing, but as Qin Yan passed by Lin Man, she was stopped:
"Yanyan, where are you going?"
Qin Yan didn’t reply. Qin Yinyin nestled her head into the crook of her mother’s neck, her voice trembling lightly, "Mama, I want to go home."
Qin Yan freed one hand and pushed Lin Man’s arm aside, stepping out of the hospital room.
She was wearing high heels, paired with a white shirt and cropped black trousers. Every step she took seemed like it landed directly on someone’s heart.
Bo Yunshen threw himself heavily onto the soft pillow, closing his eyes briefly.
Qin Yinyin’s injuries appeared serious.
Bo Yunshen felt a pang of guilt. After all, it was Qin Yan’s fault, not Qin Yinyin’s.
He licked the corner of his lips and told himself inwardly: He wasn’t wrong!
If Qin Yan hadn’t mentioned Manman first, he wouldn’t have gotten this angry!
She knew very well that Manman was his Achilles’ heel, and yet she deliberately brought her up at that exact moment. Who knows if she did it on purpose?
Who knows if she deliberately used her daughter to stage this pitiful act in front of him?
Bo Yunshen sneered coldly.
He surely wouldn’t fall for that vile woman Qin Yan’s tricks.
And she dared to leave at a time like this, expecting him to go after her to coax her?
Lin Man entered the room, glancing briefly at Bo Yunshen lying motionless on the disheveled bed with a complicated expression.
Bo Yunshen had always been a clean freak—when had he ever allowed this?
"Yunshen, were you arguing with Yanyan because of me again?"
"It’s been so long already; there’s no need!"
Bo Yunshen turned his head to look at Lin Man and asked in a low voice, "Manman, why are you here?"
"I was worried about you."
Bo Yunshen nodded lightly, forcing a brief, reluctant smile and said in a low voice, "Yunshen, why don’t you get off the bed first and call someone to tidy up?"
Upon hearing this, Bo Yunshen stiffened.
He got off the bed, and Lin Man stepped out to call for someone. As soon as she exited the hospital room, she saw Qin Yan sitting quietly on a plastic bench in the hallway, holding Qin Yinyin in her arms.
She sat there serenely, so much so that passersby couldn’t help but glance back at her.
Lin Man tucked her long hair behind her ear and approached Qin Yan, her shadow falling over her. Qin Yan lifted her head.
Though seated while Lin Man stood, Lin Man felt as if Qin Yan’s demeanor had overshadowed her presence entirely.
"Yanyan, what are you doing sitting here?"
"Why don’t you go inside?"
Qin Yan’s expression remained cold: "Miss Lin, we need to talk."
"Yanyan, I need to call someone to clean up the mess in the hospital room."
"Yanyan, I think there’s nothing for us to talk about. I’ve already said what I needed to say—I came back not to interfere in your life with Yunshen."
"After the designer exchange event ends, I’ll leave."
Lin Man tugged at the corner of her mouth, then stepped past Qin Yan, ready to go ahead.
"Lin Man, there’s no one else here, so drop the act."
Qin Yan gently placed Qin Yinyin down on the floor: "Yinyin, go over there and play for a bit. Mommy needs to talk to Aunt Lin Man."
Qin Yinyin was obedient. Once she walked far enough, Qin Yan stood up, approached Lin Man, and looked down on her. Her lashes lowered slightly: "I’m not interested in why you’ve returned. But if you really didn’t intend to disrupt our lives, you wouldn’t be showing up in front of Yunshen."
"Yanyan, is this all you wanted to say to me?"
Lin Man’s lips curved, her tone playful: "If Yunshen knew about this, he wouldn’t be happy again."
"You know exactly how Yunshen feels about me. I advise you not to make trouble for yourself."
Qin Yan smiled: "Of course."
"I stopped you to help you and Yunshen succeed."
Lin Man’s gaze froze.
Qin Yan tilted her head slightly. The snowy white shirt, her jade-like neck, and her lashes barely lifted, leaving most of the light hidden beneath her half-closed lids.
"Yunshen got injured at Bai Le Men. Me waiting here does little good—he likes you, so stay and take care of him!"
"Qin Yan, are you insane?"
Lin Man laughed mockingly, her tone laced with derision.
"Aren’t you afraid?"
Qin Yan dusted off the creases on her white shirt and tilted her head: "Don’t do something stupid like changing his dressings again!"
"I refuse. If I stay to take care of Yunshen, sooner or later his father will find out I’ve returned..."
"Since I’ve offered, I’ll make sure he doesn’t find out."
"But if Bo Yunshen gets into any more trouble, just like three years ago when I forced you out of the country, I can still do it now."
Qin Yan smiled, "You should know by now, time dulls all emotions. It’s been three years—don’t overestimate your place in Yunshen’s heart."
Lin Man hesitated for a moment.
Her gaze paused as she looked at Qin Yan, then nodded, "Fine, I agree. Yanyan, I hope you won’t regret this!"
Qin Yan blinked, then turned to Qin Yinyin, beckoning with her finger. The little girl ran over, and Qin Yan leaned down to pick her up and walked toward the end of the hallway.
Lin Man remained standing behind her, her lips faintly curling upwards.
The hospital room was cleaned, and Bo Yunshen had changed into a fresh set of clothes. Xu Lin had replaced his phone with a new one.
Lying on the hospital bed, Bo Yunshen played on his phone as he waited for Qin Yan.
A male nurse walked through the hospital room door, and Lin Man smoothed her skirt, saying quietly, "Yunshen, it’s time to reapply your medication."
Bo Yunshen didn’t look up and said flatly, "No need. Qin Yan will do it when she comes back."
Lin Man continued her motions, stood up, and made room for the nurse. "Yanyan probably won’t be coming back today."
Bo Yunshen’s fingers froze, and he looked at Lin Man, asking, "What?"
