Xia Qingtian had no intention of going back on her words.

Her entertainment company was about to go public soon. If all goes well, she would continue to work in this industry.

"That’s good, that’s very good." The assistant director gleefully said, "I won’t interrupt your work, Xia. Please help me with Bingbing’s issue and we can sort out any problems promptly."

After chatting with the assistant director, Xia Qingtian turned to Bo Jingyan, looking slightly sheepish. "I’m sorry, it seems we really can’t go out on a date today."

Jingyan had expected as much, but couldn’t hide a trace of disappointment.

There was no way she could not notice Bo Jingyan’s true feelings behind his words.

She stepped forward, took Bo Jingyan’s hand, and said, "We agreed to spend the day together. You can’t back out now."

Bo Jingyan was a little surprised at her words and asked, "Didn’t you say you have things to do today and can’t go out on a date with me?"

"Yes, I did." Xia Qingtian nodded and with a playful smile in her clear eyes she said, "I do have to deal with official business today. I’ll need you to double as my assistant for the day."

She thought that this reasoning should appease Bo Jingyan.

In actuality, whether it was a date or work, wasn’t what mattered to Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan. What mattered the most was each other’s company. Having Bo Jingyan around, even her work could become a different kind of date.

Bo Jingyan was caught off guard by her proposal and found himself at a loss for words for a moment.

Xia Qingtian was in no hurry; she knew Bo Jingyan would agree eventually.

Sure enough, after a moment, Bo Jingyan’s profound eyes quivered slightly, as if he had just reacted. His voice held a hint of delight when he asked, "Is that okay?"

"Of course, it is, but..." Xia Qingtian hesitated.

"But what?" Bo Jingyan’s heart clenched; he was totally led by her words.

Xia Qingtian smirked, revealing a cunning smile, and added, "But you are the expensive president of Bo Group. I don’t know how much your daily wage is. I’m afraid I can’t afford you."

After saying that, she couldn’t hold back her laughter anymore.

She finally understood why Bo Jingyan always enjoyed teasing her. The feeling of playing a prank on someone was indeed joyful.

"You’re playing with me!" Bo Jingyan saw her laughing and instantly gritted his teeth, his voice tinged with a hint of frostiness.

He had actually been tricked by this woman.

"Yes, I am." Xia Qingtian nodded and admitted cheerfully. After all, he wouldn’t hurt her in any way. She decided to give him some more comfort after her little prank. "However, what I said about needing you as my assistant is true!"

For the moment, she and Bo Jingyan were keeping their relationship a secret. They weren’t planning on letting Shi Qian and Bo’s mother know just yet. They had to be careful in public.

However, this time, she was going to meet Cheng Bingbing and Huo Qilin.

Both of them were aware that she and Bo Jingyan were back together. In front of these two, they didn’t need to hide.

"We should get going!" Bo Jingyan spurred her on as if he was afraid she might change her mind.

If everyone were to see the normally cold and domineering Bo acting so willingly and eagerly to be her assistant, they would surely be astounded, right?

She comforted Bo Jingyan, "Don’t be in such a hurry, I need to make a phone call."

She was still not sure about where Cheng Bingbing and Huo Qilin were. She had asked them before but they kept their location a secret, saying they didn’t want her to interrupt their date.

Upon hearing this, Bo Jingyan had no choice but to wait.

Xia Qingtian was in luck that day. The phone was picked up after a few rings.

"Do you need something?" Huo Qilin’s voice came from the other end.

"I’m looking for Bingbing..." Xia Qingtian said directly, "let her answer."

"Ok." Huo Qilin agreed.

Next, she heard some movement on the other end of the line. Huo Qilin went to get Cheng Bingbing with his phone. After a while, she heard Cheng Bingbing’s anxious voice, "Who is it?"

"Qingtian." Huo Qilin answered.

Upon hearing this, Cheng Bingbing let out a sigh of relief, her voice now relaxed, "Then, hand it over."

Xia Qingtian frowned; she had a hunch that Cheng Bingbing was hiding from someone’s calls. Or was it just her imagination?

Just as she was lost in thought, she heard Cheng Bingbing’s voice.

"Qingtian, are you looking for me?"

Xia Qingtian snapped back to reality, pushed aside her messy thoughts and got to the point, "Bingbing, how’s your leg injury? Is it getting better?"

"It should be..." Cheng Bingbing sounded unsure.

Xia Qingtian wasn’t satisfied with this answer. She sternly asked, "What do you mean, ’it should be’? Can’t you be more specific? Has Qilin not taken you to the hospital for a check-up yet?"

Cheng Bingbing, sensing Xia Qingtian’s stern tone, worried she might blame Qilin for her neglect. She promptly explained, "Please, don’t blame Qilin, Qingtian. He proposed taking me for a follow-up consultation. I am the one refusing to go to the hospital. Besides, I don’t feel any pain in my leg any more."

Xia Qingtian felt even more frustrated when she heard that Bingbing had not revisited the hospital.

"Where are you right now?" she asked gravely.

Cheng Bingbing still didn’t want to reveal her location, fearing it would put Xia Qingtian in danger.
