Chapter 767: Chapter 767: Just Want to Please Her_1
Hearing the nurse, Cheng Bingbing automatically took the cell phone from her hand. Before she could ask who was calling, she heard the man’s soft voice at the other end telling her, "My patience is running thin, you don’t have much time left."
Despite the voice sounding gently tender, to Bingbing, it felt like a devil’s whisper, and her pupils dilated several times out of fear.
That clingy, damned man again!
Bingbing raised her hand to slam the phone to the ground, hoping to escape and avoid hearing that devilish voice.
The man, almost as if knowing what she was about to do, warned in a poised manner as she was about to throw the phone, "If you smash the phone, and I can’t communicate with you, I won’t mind coming to the hospital to find you."
"No!" Bingbing’s hand, ready to smash the phone, abruptly stopped, simultaneously objecting vehemently to the man coming to the hospital.
She didn’t want Qilin to see this man.
Even though Qilin already knew she was pregnant with another man’s child, the child’s father never appeared, almost like a figment of the imagination.
When this man physically appears before Qilin, she’s afraid Qilin won’t be able to handle it.
Even if he could accept it, it would certainly leave an invisible gap between them.
"If you don’t want me to find you, then listen quietly," the man gently suggested.
Bingbing’s grip on the phone tightened, feeling like she was on the verge of a breakdown. She asked angrily, "What do you want? Why can’t you just let me be?"
Her attitude was far from pleasant, yet the man didn’t seem to care. Instead, he continued coaxingly, "I’m just reminding you, the time I gave you is almost over. Don’t provoke me."
Despite how soft his voice was, it couldn’t hide the dominance in his words, utterly forbidding any sort of rejection from Bingbing.
Bingbing didn’t want to communicate with this man, but was afraid of him coming to the hospital if she hung up the phone, and ending up running into Qilin.
Unable to convince this man, she was left with no choice but to retreat, avoiding the situation just like a turtle withdrawing into its shell.
"You also said the time is ’almost’ over, meaning it isn’t here yet. So why the rush?" Bingbing was forced to act fierce.
The man found Bingbing, who had been driven to desperation and was showing her claws, to be like a kitten baring its teeth, believing itself to be fierce enough.
In reality, the kitten was not fierce at all but rather adorably cute.
The man, initially troubled, was suddenly appeased.
"Alright then..." He said in a pleasant mood, "I’ll give you a few more days, I hope you won’t disappoint me."
And with that, he hung up.
Seeing that the call was ended, Bingbing took a deep breath. Her clothes were soaked with cold sweat just from a call, evoking a sense of relief like she had just escaped catastrophe.
She gave the phone back to the nurse. "I’d like to rest now, please don’t allow anyone to disturb me, thank you."
After taking the phone the nurse left the room.
Before Bingbing could catch her breath, she heard footsteps behind her.
She was extremely irritated and found it hard to control her temper, speaking coldly: "I already said, I want to rest and not to let anyone bother me, did I not make that clear?"
"What happened?" A familiar voice asked.
Bingbing immediately turned around, only to find that it wasn’t a medical staff member, but Qilin.
She didn’t expect Qilin to come back so quickly.
"It’s nothing." She immediately lowered her head, unwilling to let Qilin see the tear-streaked light in her eyes and her saddened expression.
Despite her best attempt to mask it, Qilin still noticed something was wrong. In all their years of knowing each other and from working together, she hardly ever got angry for no reason. It simply wasn’t like her.
In his recollection, Bingbing was always gentle and considerate.
He placed the food he bought for Bingbing on the table, and then came over to the bed, pulling her gently into his arms. "Who upset my gentle and kind girlfriend? Tell me and I’ll vent for you. Is that okay?"
Bingbing wanted to laugh, but however hard she tried, she could not.
The gentler Qilin was towards her, the more terrified she became, feeling like all the warmth and love was but a reflection on the water. She had a premonition that the more the man appeared in her life, the more likely the thing she feared most would happen.
"Did you get upset because I was gone too long to get food?" Qilin guessed.
Bingbing couldn’t tell Qilin why she was upset. Seeing him guess this, she went along with it, "Yes, I’m hungry, so my mood isn’t good. I didn’t mean to lose my temper, I’m sorry."
"Silly." Qilin smiled, "I’m your boyfriend, when you’re upset, consider me your punching bag. Nevermind scolding me, even if you hit me, it wouldn’t matter."
Bingbing couldn’t help but smile. "Rest assured, I don’t have that bad of a temper. I won’t scold or hit you."
Seeing her smile, Qilin finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Since you’re not upset anymore, let’s eat." He started, "I’ve used up all my energies to get back as fast as I can so your food would still be hot."
"Okay." Bingbing nodded.
Qilin quickly brought over the food and set it down in front of Bingbing.
Like Qilin said, the food was still warm when it got there. Bingbing felt the warmth of the food spread from her throat through her whole body, finally converging to her heart.
Her heart, which had gotten cold from the call, began to slowly warm up.
After swallowing the food in her mouth, she suddenly looked up at Qilin, saying with pleading eyes, "Qilin, I don’t want to stay in the hospital anymore, nor do I want to go home. Let’s find a quiet place to live."
She honestly didn’t know how to deal with that man so instinctively chose to escape.
Even though she knew with the man’s ability, she couldn’t hide forever. Maybe she can escape for now. Perhaps during that time she’ll think of a solution, or maybe...
The man will change his mind!
