Chapter 660: Chapter 660: I Want to Protect You_1
Xia Qingtian used to feel that Bo Jingyan was quite intelligent, to the point of bordering on cunning.
But it was only at this moment that she realized he wasn’t just unsmart, he was stupid to the core.
"Even if you’re not afraid, I am still going to worry." Bo Jingyan’s tone was full of indulgence towards her.
Xia Qingtian kept silent with a stern face.
Seeing her still angry, Bo Jingyan immediately coaxed her gently, "Alright, don’t be angry anymore, I know I was wrong. I’ll change my clothes now, alright?"
In this world, probably only Xia Qingtian could make him, Bo Jingyan, admit his faults so willingly.
Xia Qingtian wasn’t really angry.
She was just upset that Bo Jingyan didn’t take care of his body.
Seeing him finally agreeing to change his clothes, her face finally softened, awkwardly nodding her head and urging him, "Then you better hurry up, you have three minutes."
"Alright." Bo Jingyan indulged her.
Then, he immediately grabbed the clothes Huo Qilin had given him, went into the bathroom, and changed into them as fast as he could before coming out.
He returned to Xia Qingtian’s side, saying, "Done, it didn’t take more than three minutes, right? Not angry anymore, right?"
Seeing him treating her words like a decree, she couldn’t help but smile at him. "Hmm, I’m not angry anymore."
Then, the two of them shared a laugh.
"Come on, let’s go back." Xia Qingtian led the way.
Bo Jingyan immediately followed her.
The two of them returned to the car and the rain outside still hadn’t let up, accompanied by occasional thunder. However, with company beside her, Xia Qingtian wasn’t angry anymore.
"It’s getting late, I’ll take you home." Bo Jingyan started the car.
"Hmm." Xia Qingtian nodded.
Looking at the curtain of rain outside, she suddenly thought of something and turned to ask Bo Jingyan, "By the way, I didn’t ask you; when my car broke down, how did you happen to be there?"
Bo Jingyan’s throat tightened, "It wasn’t sudden!"
Xia Qingtian was taken aback, not immediately understanding what he meant by that.
"Huh?" She confusedly looked at Bo Jingyan.
Bo Jingyan answered, "I’m saying, I was always behind your car, but the rain was really heavy, and you were so nervous because you’re scared of thunder, so you didn’t notice."
Hearing this explanation, Xia Qingtian felt not only did it fail to clear up her confusion, she was even more confused.
"I don’t understand." she frowned in confusion. "Are you saying you knew I was going to go out tonight?"
Before Bo Jingyan could answer, she contradicted herself, "Impossible, it was a last-minute decision. Even I didn’t know, how could you have known in advance?"
Seeing her look convincingly baffled, Bo Jingyan decided to put all his cards on the table.
She was currently in the misinformed state of being pregnant, it was better not to trouble her any further.
"I didn’t know you were going out, but I saw it suddenly started raining and there was thunder. I was worried you’d be scared, so I drove over and thought I would look after you." He candidly admitted.
Xia Qingtian’s throat clenched.
Thinking of not seeing Bo Jingyan at the villa, she realized he hadn’t even entered the house, instead, he had been waiting outside the front gate all along.
Once she understood this, she thought Bo Jingyan was the most foolish man in the world.
However, her heart felt strangely soft.
"You..." She was about to say something, when suddenly...
A growl came from someone’s stomach, and the noise came from Bo Jingyan.
Xia Qingtian turned to look at him, her tone somewhat dangerous, "Don’t tell me you haven’t eaten dinner. Do you not remember why you landed in the hospital before?"
Bo Jingyan who always feared nothing was now frightened of the little woman in front of him frowning in anger.
He immediately explained, "I did eat, but I only had half when it started raining. I was worried you would be afraid so I hurried over."
Hearing him say that, Xia Qingtian found she couldn’t blame him any further.
"Don’t do this anymore," she said.
"Alright, as you wish!" Bo Jingyan complied.
A little later, they arrived at Xia Qingtian’s estate. The rain had stopped, and there were no more thunder and lightning.
"Go back and rest early." Bo Jingyan opened the door for her, then escorted her to the front door, "Call me if you need anything."
"Okay." Xia Qingtian nodded.
Bo Jingyan had done all that was required, and turned to leave.
But as soon as he turned around, Xia Qingtian caught his arm.
He stopped in his tracks, looking at Xia Qingtian, "What is it? Do you need anything else?"
Xia Qingtian held his hand and didn’t let go, "Aren’t you hungry? Most restaurants are closed now, are you planning to starve until morning?"
Bo Jingyan didn’t say anything, but his silence expressed his decision.
Seeing his response, Xia Qingtian knew she’d guessed correctly.
She sighed, "Come in with me. I’ll see what’s in the kitchen and make you something simple. You can leave after you’ve had something to eat."
While she spoke, she had already led Bo Jingyan into the mansion.
It was midnight now, and apart from the night shift servants, everyone else was asleep. Xia Qingtian didn’t alarm anyone.
She quietly went to the kitchen and saw some vegetables, shrimps, and some noodles.
She decided to quickly cook a bowl of seafood noodles for Bo Jingyan.
Although she hadn’t cooked for a while, she didn’t feel rusty at all. She quickly and skilfully made a bowl of noodles, topping it with a few blanched vegetables.
Job well done!
After Xia Qingtian prepared the noodles, she was getting ready to wrap the bowl with a towel and bring it to the living room when a large hand stopped her.
Turning her head, she found it was Bo Jingyan.
"Why did you come here? Didn’t I tell you to wait for me in the dining room?" She frowned at Bo Jingyan.
"Leave it to me..." Bo Jingyan began. "The bowl is a bit hot, don’t burn yourself."
Carrying the noodles was a minor matter, so Xia Qingtian didn’t argue with him.
"Alright, then carry it to the living room yourself." As she spoke, she found a towel, soaked it in cold water, intending for Bo Jingyan to wrap the bowl with the towel to prevent getting burned.
However, after she had wrung out the towel, she found she was the only one left in the kitchen.
Bo Jingyan had already left with the noodles.
Xia Qingtian was secretly anxious, fearing he would burn himself. She couldn’t shout out, adding to his confusion.
