The doctor answered, "It’s nothing. The patient just took some medicine she shouldn’t have. After she was brought in, we administered a drip and counteracted the effects of the medication. We will monitor her tonight, and if everything is fine, she can be discharged tomorrow."

Doctor, were the effects of the drug on her neutralized at the hospital?" Xia Qingtian asked, raising an eyebrow.

The doctor nodded, "Yes."

Xia Qingtian knew that Cheng Bingbing could not ask for herself.

Huo Qilin didn’t immediately reply. He observed the woman in front of him closely.

Once he made sure she was indeed alright, he took a deep breath, "As long as you’re okay."

Seeing him so concerned about her, even though she knew he didn’t like her, Cheng Bingbing still felt a trace of sweetness in her heart, and she thought disconsolately.

Just being a lifelong friend with Huo Qilin, occasionally receiving his care, was more than enough for her.

Xia Qingtian, hearing this, finally relaxed.

Actually, she didn’t ask Huo Qilin to carry anything of importance, she had noted that Bo Jingyan’s clothes were soaked through and was worried he would catch a cold in wet clothes. With the late hour, and in the heavy rain, even if they wanted to buy new clothes, it wouldn’t be possible.

As Huo Qilin was coming to the hospital anyway, it made sense to let him bring a change of clothes for Bo Jingyan.

The two men were of similar build, though Huo Qilin still retained a youthful look, while Bo Jingyan had the robust figure of a fully-grown man.

As Xia Qingtian stepped out of the ward, she saw Bo Jingyan still standing outside.

The clothes that Huo Qilin had brought were still set to the side, and Bo Jingyan was still in his wet clothes.

Xia Qingtian’s eyebrows furrowed, and she asked him in a slightly reproachful tone, "Didn’t Huo Qilin bring you some clean clothes? Why haven’t you changed yet?"

After a pause, as though she had realized something, she continued by asking, "Are you refraining because this is Huo Qilin’s clothing? Don’t worry, he already said, it’s a new outfit, he’s never worn it."

Seeing her misunderstanding, Bo Jingyan immediately clarified, "I’m not worried about whose clothes these are."
