Chapter 634: Chapter 634: Can’t Understand Him_1
Xia Qingtian quickly came to her senses.
"I’m listening." She replied.
The only person willing to help her in the Bo family was Bo Jingyan!
Therefore, she was able to escape Zhu Wei’s pestering completely thanks to him.
Thinking of him, Xia Qingtian’s mood somewhat complicated, but mostly perplexed.
She couldn’t understand what Bo Jingyan was really aiming to do. They were already divorced and last time when she called him wanting to share her joy, he was remarkably cold in his attitude.
She thought that Bo Jingyan wanted to sever his ties with her, but he had been doing so many things for her behind her back.
Without any need to overthink, the drastic change in Zhu family’s attitude must probably have something to do with him, right?
"Miss Xia, if you do not have any objections to our investigation results, then I will hang up. If there are any other issues in the future, you can call me back." After finishing his report, the private investigator was ready to end the call.
"Hold on!" Xia Qingtian stopped him.
"Do you need anything else, Miss Xia?" The private investigator asked.
Xia Qingtian pursed her lips.
She had already guessed that the matter with Zhu family was also resolved by Bo Jingyan. But she needed concrete, irrefutable evidence.
She wanted to thoroughly investigate this matter and then confront Bo Jingyan about it.
She needed to know, the purpose behind Bo Jingyan’s actions and what he really wanted to do.
Xia Qingtian spoke with a firm look, "Now that the Zhu family has stopped causing trouble for me, I want to know who from the Zhu family has met with whom recently and what have they been saying during this time."
"Alright." The private investigator agreed immediately.
With Xia Qingtian as a generous and easygoing client, working with her was a pleasure and he had no reasons for refusal.
"I need to know the answer as soon as possible." Xia Qingtian added one more condition, "so conduct your investigation as quick as possible."
The private investigator promised her, "Don’t worry, I’ll get the results within a week."
Xia Qingtian hung up the phone with satisfaction.
After hanging up the phone, she stared blankly in one direction, mumbling to herself, "Bo Jingyan, what on earth are you trying to do? What are you thinking? Why do I feel like I understand you less and less?"
...
The company’s issues were completely resolved.
All the colleagues, including Xia Qingtian, were busy again.
On the other hand, there weren’t many changes in Cheng Bingbing and Huo Qilin’s lives.
Huo Qilin was preparing for a concert tour. It was his first concert and Xia Qingtian attached great importance to it. She feared that he’d get too tired, so she didn’t schedule any other work for him but let him adjust his mental state at home.
If he had any spare energy, he could write a few new songs and perform them for the fans during the concert giving them a surprise.
So everyday, he would stay at home, writing songs and working out.
All of Cheng Bingbing’s focus wasn’t other jobs but was entirely on getting Director Zhao’s movie made.
One day, Director Zhao received a call that one of his early works was nominated for an old film award, so he needed to attend the ceremony to accept the award.
Given how well the film crew’s shooting progress was, not only would this not delay the movie’s completion time, they might even finish early. So, they had a plenty of time.
Thus, he casually granted the crew a three-day break.
Being in A city, Cheng Bingbing didn’t have many friends or places she wanted to go, so she could only obediently return home during the break.
Cheng Bingbing’s parents had already been released from the detention center but they hadn’t been bothering her recently. She originally wanted to return to her dorm but Huo Qilin was worried.
In the end, he made her stay at his place.
Huo Qilin would be in his room composing music everyday. When she returned from shooting each day, it was very late and Huo Qilin would already be asleep.
The next day, before Huo Qilin had even woken up, she’d already left for the crew’s makeup artist.
Although they were living under the same roof, their encounters were pretty rare and the few times they did meet was only because Xia Qingtian had arranged for them to meet.
Today, when Cheng Bingbing returned home early from the crew, she happened to see Huo Qilin opening the door to collect take-out.
Seeing her return all of a sudden, Huo Qilin raised his eyebrows in surprise then furrowed them as if he was remembering something and asked, "Why did you come back all of a sudden? Did your parents cause you trouble at the crew?"
"No!" Cheng Bingbing immediately explained, "The director is going abroad to become an award receiver, so he gave us a three-day break."
Only then Huo Qilin exhaled in relief.
"Good." He was still a little worried and admonished Cheng Bingbing, "If you’ll be taken advantage of, you must tell me. Don’t keep your problems to yourself, got it?"
A warmth flooded Cheng Bingbing’s heart, leaving her no choice but to nod obediently, "Alright, don’t worry. I understand."
Seeing her behave so obediently, Huo Qilin felt an evil impulse to tease her a little, but he managed to hold it in.
He brought the takeout inside, placed it on the tea table and asked, "Have you eaten? Do you want to eat something?"
"I ate at noon." Cheng Bingbing declined his invitation. She had just returned from outside and felt a bit overheated so she said, "You can eat, I go wash my face."
After saying that, she went to the bathroom to wash her face and rremove her makeup.
Cheng Bingbing had cool-toned fair skin. Even after removing her makeup, she looked incredibly beautiful.
When she came out of the bathroom, she saw an array of take-out scattered all over the table, and that Huo Qilin had already put down his chopsticks and was busy tuning his guitar.
"You’ve finished eating?" She asked in surprise.
She was pretty quick with removing her makeup. From her entering the bathroom to coming out, it took less than ten minutes. How could Huo Qilin have possibly finished eating already? Was he really that quick?
"Mhm." Huo Qilin nodded as he continued speaking.
While they were talking, Cheng Bingbing had already walked over to him.
With one glance, she saw that he hadn’t even eaten two bites of his food. Not just Huo Qilin, but even a female artist on a diet would complain about the lack of food.
She asked with some concern, "Can you fill up your stomach with just this little?"
Huo Qilin didn’t bother pretending, instead, he complained honestly, "These take-outs are too bad, I’m already sick of them. I don’t have an appetite and do not want to eat."
Cheng Bingbing hadn’t expected this to be the reason.
Her brows and eyes brightened up immediately and she gently asked, "Then what do you feel like eating?"
"What for?" Huo Qilin didn’t answer her question but instead asked her one.
"You tell me what you feel like eating. If you don’t mind, I can cook it for you." Cheng Bingbing answered his question.
Hearing this, Huo Qilin looked at her in astonishment, "You can cook?"
"I know a bit. Although I can’t guarantee it will taste better than takeout, at least it will be healthier. Perhaps a change in taste would get your appetite back." Cheng Bingbing smiled kindly.
